This has become my favorite Mongolian barbecue spot so far. It's a great place to stop when you want a quick, filling meal. The service here is consistently fast and efficient. The staff are quick to help you get started, and the cooks prepare the food very quickly once you bring your bowl up. Even when it's busy, the process moves along smoothly. One thing I really like is the generous portion sizes, you definitely get a lot of food for what you pay. There's also a large selection of meats, vegetables, spices, and sauces, so you can customize your bowl exactly the way you want it. The husband really wanted to try this place out because he loves Genghis Grill but there isn't one close to us. When we got here there were no patrons inside. It was around 1:00 in the afternoon, so we thought that was odd. Maybe a little skeptical too. But we decided to give it a try anyway. When we got inside the hostess/waitress told us to sit anywhere and she brought over dry erase papers for us to fill out which kind of noodles or rice we wanted. Then she gave us a bowl to fill with protein, veggies, seasonings and sauces of our choice. Both of our bowls were great! But I do feel like that's user specific. You make it how you want it, and if you don't like it, you kind of have to blame yourself because all they do is cook what you chose to go in your bowl. But I came to write this review because of the outstanding service that was provided. She did an amazing job making sure we had everything we needed and as other people came in, and people did come, she never stopped being attentive to us or anyone that came in. Food was excellent, service was impeccable and she even gave us complimentary ice cream before we left. We had a really great lunch today. Our bowls were huge, and filling, you wouldn't know that from the photos I took though, because I took them after we ate and got full. read more

We had a great time with family here. Though this visit was an exemption. The staff were very accommodating and quickly resolved some issues. Their soda machine was dispensing flat drinks. Not sure if the machine was broken but there's no carbonation in any of the drinks. Too sweet and too much syrup. Management took that off our check and they were very generous and made sure we were happy with our visit. We will definitely come back again. I don't know why this place isn't 5 stars. Because when you boil it down to what makes a restaurant a great place to eat it comes down to 3 things. 1) is the service friendly, 2) is the food delicious, & 3) is it a value for what you pay for. I gladly say yes to all three. You get a massive amount of food, easily 2 meals, you pick what you want to eat and how to season it so it's as good as what you put into it, AND the staff here is so beyond friendly that I want to invite all of them to my neighborhood Christmas party. The selection of meats, spices, and sauces is better than most of the Mongolian stir-fry restaurants I've visited. Place is located in a strip center out front the Walmart. Plenty of parking. Walked in and greeted promptly, not slam busy but it was 12:45pm so I was expecting it to be busy. We were seated quickly and drink orders taken. They gave us the card to fill out and we filled out our cards and headed to the line to pick our ingredients. You put table# , name and which noodle or rice you want. They have beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, miniature scallops and fish. They have every vegetable you would want. Also mushrooms and jalapeños and all the seasonings and hot sauces. You put all your choices into small bowl, if you are good at playing Jenga you can stack a lot of stuff into the small metal bowl. I got the Udon noodles but you can pic 2-3 different sides including rice. You hand your bowl and card to the the cook and they cook it on the Mongolian grill top..and bring to your table within 5 mins.. We were a group of 4, price was approx $13.95 but includes drink, a starter cucumber salad and ice cream afterwards. Well worth the price. Of course everything was hot and fresh since cooked to order and the ingredients all looked fresh. After my son begged me to bring him here, we finally decided to treat him to Wacky Mongolian and we are glad we did! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and sat quite quickly for a Friday night, the place was pretty big and had a huge selection of vegetables, meats, sauces and seasonings which is perfect for my entire family! Once you fill up your bowl, you go to the hibachi area and get to choose your noodles/grain which I appreciated the visual, the hiachi chefs were also very helpful as we dropped off our bowls. Once our bowls were done, the server was kind to bring us our bowls to our table and kept asking us for refills on our drinks. At the end, we were all very pleased with our meals since we all got to modify and create our own bowl. I can't wait to come back! read more

The food is good. You pick out what you want from an uncooked buffet style section. Place your meats, veggies, etc it in a bowl, and then give it to the chefs to cook all together for you. Be careful not to give them too much sauce, or it gets cooked into your food. You can always take it to your table and add the sauce once your food is cooked. I made this mistake and ended up with too much sweet and sour sauce in my food. The meal was still really good, though. The service was excellent. The servers were very attentive and came to your table very often. Your soda refill will never get low at this restaurant, so come thirsty. The restaurant has a cozy feel with a mixture of tables and some booths. The Whacky Mongolian Grill offers diners a unique experience, is different and totally worth trying out.
