They were very polite and helpful. So older children seem to take over the basketball courts knocking other little kids over would be a con for me . The staff didn't even stop them. The place could be a little cleaner would be my other con but for a place for kids not a bad spot at all. I would take my son back if he asked. We spent over $600 hosting a birthday party for 10 kids at Zap Zone, and the service did not match the cost. Our host Duce was mostly absent, food was delivered 25 minutes late, and no one checked on our group--we had to track staff down for everything. After our room time ended, we were told to buy more food just to have a place to sit, then told we couldn't bring in items we had already paid for. When we raised concerns, the host responded loudly and disrespectfully--laughing, calling us liars, and saying "you're a joke." Management did not address this behavior, and the resolution offered was minimal. The only highlight was Grace in Laser Tag. She was outstanding--kind, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful with my special needs nephew. She truly went above and beyond. The attractions are fun, but the service and management were unacceptable. For the over $600 spent, this level of service and management conduct is unacceptable and requires immediate attention. read more

This may seem like an excessive rating But I just have to say this is a great place and a really good time I'm an older dude so seeing arcade games is actually a throwback even though the games themselves are very up-to-date. Although there is a Pac-Man game with a screen big enough to be the property of a bond, villain. Laser tag is always a lot of fun and I feel like I could play at all day But they also have the foam pits and the bounce areas and bumper cars. And then lo and behold they have 18 holes of miniature golf kind of tucked back in the corner. (which is free.) Honestly a sad dying business front. Came into the building and was greeted with a man screaming at the employees then warning me and my friends that this place was a scam. The employees that I interacted with were all helpful but there clearly wasn't enough because every attraction we wanted to do we had to hunt down another worker. We did laser tag and the worker disappeared after our round so we just assumed we should exit and place the equipment wherever. I can tell these people care and want customers to have a good experience they're just in a rough spot. read more

So we like this location because it has more activities indoor activities for the kids. For example- bumper cars, glow golf, fly zone, laser tag and trampolines etc. There is not much of a selection of video games. Most of the games are gambling games to win tickets. One of the biggest negatives is the lack of seating for adults. They could scatter some benches throughout the facility so adults don't have to stand for 3-4 hours. So if you have a bad back or injury. You will need to come early to get a table. It's pretty expensive and we have found that the best days to come are on holidays. For example- we are here today MLK day and the kids got 2 hours unlimited attractions. Which are normally like 10 bucks per attraction. This doesn't include a charge card to play video games. Overall it's ok - it gives the kids some physical activity options to do in the winter. We don't order food from here. Too expensive - so can't speak to the good quality. read more

I'm really disappointed in the penny pinching manager, the employees are no long allowed to ring you up, you have to use the computer for everything, and when you use the computer there's a $1 service charge for everything so if you forget to add on something you have to go back and buy other things another $1 service fee. Absolutely ridiculous. The place is a free for all, the equipment is wore out And the employees do not monitor anything, you can hang from the ceiling if you chose to. Hands down a genuine 5 star rating! I called about 1- 1/2 weeks prior to having a bday party here. I wanted a place that was fun and active for kids age 5-13. This fit the bill! The young woman who I spoke to over the phone was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. This was a bit unplanned but I figured it would be an experience the kids would remember! I initially was hesitant about the price but after the party it truly was worth every penny! Pros: they have different party packages to fit your specific price budget. I chose the supreme I believe 3 activities for 10 kids, pizza, 2 pitchers or pop and a party room (time limit). They equip the party rooms with napkins, paper plates, and cups! Total bonus! And I loved that they had a coat rack on the wall!! The room was clean and surprisingly did not smell (like sweaty kids). 5 stars for this portion Staff: our party hostess was probably the sweetest most adorable young lady! Young and she was new there but I couldn't tell! She was on top of the activities, tended to the adults in the party and assured we had enough water/pop etc. checked up on adults quite frequently! She was a busy bee! I believe her name was Victoria...there were also other employees, the young lady who helped me book the room and other staff at the counter! I am kicking myself for not remembering her name but she was phenomenal! She checked in on us regularly, she seemed liked she was probably a shift supervisor or manage my as her attentiveness and demeanor were that of management. But one of the parents as a gift purchased coins for all of the kids! I can't knock off any points here because according to the employees it is regulated by a different company. Cool place butttt their sign said they close at 9pm. It's 7pm so I'm thinking cool, the kids can play for 2 hours. Well about 5 min after I pay $30 PER child, the guy comes on a speaker n says the attractions, (Jump zones,, Lazer tag, bowling) close in one hour! Then the arcade is open for the last hour. I got a water and a lemonade for $8. So I paid $68 for 2 kids to play for one hour. The $20 credit on their cards for games lasted 5 min. Someone should have told me about the attractions closing in an hour before I spent so much. I feel ripped off and soo not recommending or coming back. read more

I am writing this review for the Glow Golf rather than the Laser Tag. I feel that the Glow Golf is not very well known and it is my favorite part of this attraction. The cost is $4 for an 18-hole game on Tuesday's which is an excellent price for what you get. The courses are fun and exciting and it's almost never crowded. The price is great and the atmosphere is really fun. The arcade games are very fun as well if you aren't satisfied with only going for mini golf. read more

This experience was horrendous because of the unknowledgeable, careless staff paired with the dysfunctional Laser tag experience. An employee set the laser tag game mode incorrectly and we could not play the game the way we expected. A refund was not given nor offered. The fact that our expectations were not met combined with fact that the staff did not seem to care when confronted with our concerns are the contributing factors for this awful experience. Zap Zone was the first time I had ever expirenced laser tag, as well as having the time of my life as a child. And that was before they moved the place to this spot today. I expected a whole lot more with the relocation, but I was dissapointed with the main attaraction. They made the laser tag arena SMALLER than the original and removed the MegaBlaster (It acts like a mine, taking out any other players nearby,) just to have the rest of the attractions and a (maybe) exclusive Ninja Zone (which is under construction at the time of this review.) Even though I always play safely and correctly, And despite having very durable plastics, you may run into a broken pack (laser tag vest.) in which the pack acts like it never got the signal to start a game. You can tell the problem has happened when the pack flashes all of its colors, and only one light circles the front and back of the pack, rather than four. That happened only once to me, and its probably caused by a damaged radio. They also never mention the two features you get during a game, which are shields and photons. Finally, you can also buy a tag that allows for a custom name for 10$ USD, which is great for easily finding your name after the game. The positives I have about this is that there is a lot of games and attaractions to try out (Which are almost all Ticket-Redemption,) A scoreboard during the current or previous laser tag game. Brought my babies here for a little boy's birthday party, & they seem to enjoy it. There's many activities @additional cost, from Glo-golfing, bumper cars, bounce houses, lazer tag, museum, etc. plus the arcade! As of for me, it kinda felt like work there. Why so? Well, I left my son @the dinosaur shooting game with $5 worth of tokens for less than 5minutes, guess what I came back to? Him asking for more tokens . Asked him where his tokens went, & he said the machine wouldn't count his money so he kept putting more in. Throughout the night I had to keep going to the front to notify them of that same problem (very often) @many different games. I asked the Employees & was told that it happens. I feel like they're kind of taking advantage of the kids (robbing their coins &fun), because kids are less likely to ask for help when their tokens get rob by the machine, as long as it works after 5 tries. So parents, tell your kid(s) to only put in the number of tokens they see needed & look for a tech if it's not letting them play yet after they've inserted that many. It would be nice if they do upgrade to arcade cards instead of tokens. However, Kyle was awesome. 5 Employee. Very helpful every time. Also gave me back the tokens that we involuntarily donated. He made my visit a lot easier by being so understanding & quick when helping out. I'd give this place 3.5 stars, but 4 because of the help. I'll still recommend this place, BUT only on their All-You-Can-Play- days. That way you don't have to worry about getting your coins back. They also have a deal- $20 for 100 tokens (must get it at front desk). DON'T FORGET to check-in on yelp to unlock your $2 off any of their extra activities &last but not least, Have Fun!!! read more

The employees are very helpful and very kind expecially Kayla the girl behind the counter was very helpful, very sweet, VERY patient and always smiling she a AWESOME employee! Ever since I was about 14(?), maybe 15 years old, Zapzone has had a special place in my heart. My high school boyfriend took me here for a date once, my best friend had his birthday parties here for three years in a row, and even now, when we're all old, broke college students, my friends and I still meet up and go here on breaks. I love this place, I really do! But feelings toward it are becoming mixed. Let's talk about the positives first. *They keep it clean. The building doesn't stink, the countertops and tables aren't littered with crumbs or feel sticky, the arcade games aren't run down, and, most importantly, the bathrooms are clean! *If I were a parent, I would feel comfortable bringing my child here. The environment is very kid-friendly, as it should be. Before any game of laser tag, someone will be in there to lay down the rules and make sure people are being respectful to the other players. *The arcade games and activities are fun for any age. Despite all of these great things about Zapzone, I'm only giving it three stars because I miss the way the old building used to be and something happened to me after one of my friends' parties that made me really question the cleanliness of their game equipment. Zapzone used to be in Utica and it isn't so much the location that I loved, but the way the old building was designed. It was smaller on the inside, but the actual laser tag room seemed much larger and more complex. It felt like running through a maze with all sorts of bizarre hiding places and ramps. At this new location it just doesn't feel the same to me. At my friend's birthday party three years ago, we decided to do a completely different activity that no one in the group ever tried at Zapzone. I can't remember the exact name of it, but our group was divided into four teams and the goal was to aim and shoot these foam ping pong-sized balls into the other team's nets. There were four stations, two and two facing each other from across the room, and each station had a shooter thingy with a net on top that would launch the ping pong balls across the room and, hopefully, into your opponent's net. To protect our eyes we were given goggles to wear, and, well, that didn't work out the way I had hoped. The day after the party I woke up with watery, crusty eyes and stayed home from school for three days with pinkeye in both eyes. That was the first time in my life I ever had pinkeye. Was it caused from wearing the goggles? Perhaps. Maybe a kid with pinkeye rubbed their eyes, touched something, and I happened to pick it up. Who knows. But it makes sense that the goggles would cause it. This was at the old location, so cleaning standards may be different. Zapzone is a great place to have fun with family and friends, and despite my one bad experience, I'd still recommend it. read more
