Let's just start by saying OMG!! One of the best, spectacular, lively and perfect ambiance I've seen till date for a Mexican restaurant. From the attentive host, server (Emmanuel), food and drinks - it was just perfectly perfect. I had asked Emmanuel if they could make a mango jalapeño margarita and it was done to perfection. For my entree, I ordered a kings burrito and it was filling (quality and quantity). They even gave us a sample of soft serve with alcohol - what?!? Amazing, simply amazing!!! Overall, my only complain is that I don't reside in Cincinnati so I won't be able to go to this restaurant whenever I'm craving amazing Mexican food, but other than that, all I have are positive things to say about this restaurant! read more

Sitting on the patio, by the river side - was great! Our service was adequate and limited. We had to ask a few times for some of our requests. The food was good. The soft serve margaritas, which we saw online and assumed they were more ice cream like, were a thickened regular margarita. This might have been mentioned or is what it's advertised as so, no big deal - but we thought it would be more dessert/creamy because of the soft serve portion! I was so excited to finally try this place since they are opening one up near my house. The atmosphere is a lot of fun. I do with the had more covering on their patio. The food is your standard American Mexican fair. Nothing mind blowing. The menu was way too big. It needs to be paired down. The menus we got were also sticky and falling apart. The service is not great. No one was very friendly. The food came fast. It's also wildly expensive for what it is. I can't come here very often because a normal plate of enchiladas is $20 and I can get that elsewhere for way less. We came for the soft serve margaritas and they were good but too big. I should have shared the one I got. Will I go again? Maybe down the road but not anytime soon. read more

Mi Cozumel has to be my favorite Mexican restaurant. I typically go to the one on Vandercar but I decided to go to the Newport one on this trip. I definitely like my original location better due to the larger size and lively atmosphere. Even though it was very crowded we were seated immediately on a Sat evening. This location served up fresh, quick, hot food which I enjoyed. They had the soft serve margarita, delicious. However everyone is packed in the right space and oddly was very uncomfortable in the chair. Due to the space being tight and crowded, all the noises were amplified. This place is overestimating to me, hence the 4 stars for atmosphere kept it from being 5 stars. However, I will always return to Mi Cozumel! read more

Such a great experience, we went two days in a row! Honestly, I could have just had the fresh made from scratch guacamole daily. The presentation of the food and drinks yells celebration in every way. I saw everything from margaritas in IV bag, a 3ft fork, sparklers going off on elaborate drinks, and a happy birthday song that I didn't know if it would ever end. Literally, this place is a giant party! The service was fantastic, the staff was accommodating, and everyone just seemed to really enjoy working there. Even on the busy Valentine's Day weekend, the staff was working hard to please. Highly recommend the ribeye tacos, the queso there is delicious, and be prepared to spend on some over sized drinks. They have non-alcoholic beverages as well. Overall, just a fun place to enjoy and will certainly keep fighting any crowd for a table here. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner a few weeks back, great environment for that. They really go all out for birthday celebrations. Despite the fact the restaurant was jammed our server Guillermo was very friendly, and everything came out correct. Food came out at a reasonable pace even with how crowded it was. Had the pizza birria which was delicious. Only critique is that my drink was mostly juice; had the iv margarita which did look cool but I think was overpriced at $25. Would probably avoid the gimmicky drinks but otherwise great experience! Other thing to note, they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait for a bit especially with a large group. read more

What a vibe! I walked past with my friends midday and we immediately started dancing to some cumbia music they had playing. At night it's more of a reggaeton vibe. We stopped in on a Friday evening with 6 people for a birthday dinner after we enjoyed a round of putt putt next door at Par 3. The ambiance is so fun! This is a great place to celebrate a birthday. The team comes out and sings you happy birthday, they bring a mini band and a giant sombrero for you to wear. It's a lot of fun! The food and drinks are just alright, but that's not the purpose of this type of place. I had the chicken and steak fajitas and for $30 I did expect them to be better. They were like Tex mex chain fajitas. Nothing wrong with that, but don't expect anything fantastic. My friends had enchiladas and chimichangas and a variety of meals. They all agreed with the assessment that it was a very fun night and place, but food was mediocre. We would go back none-the-less. read more

We are not prudes but didn't appreciate this type of music at dinner at 7:00 in the evening. I know this place is known for their margaritas, and I would have loved to have tried one except none of them had any descriptions so I have no clue what any of them are... my husband ordered a simple burrito, and it didn't even come with everything it was listed with on the menu. And I ordered what I thought was simple shrimp tacos and the server's reaction should have tipped me off that it was a wrong choice. She didn't know what toppings were on it (even though unlike the drinks, it WAS listed on the menu). And she even made it a point to come back to reiterate my order before bringing it to the table. What I got can only be described as a wonton-taco hybrid. Not great. They have a great drink selection but $22 for a standard margarita is a little much. I think they could do without the "flaming margs" schtick if it means they cut the price down a few dollars. The food was good, but I want to share my experience so others know what to expect. I ordered a simple, house margarita and specifically said I didn't want any extra "frou-frou" or bells and whistles. It came out with a sparkler. Are you kidding me? That's a $18 margarita not a simple, house margarita. I also ordered 3 a la carte tacos for $10, but the server changed it to a "better deal" of street tacos that actually cost more and came with a side I didn't want. By the end, we felt like we were being taken advantage of, which is disappointing because we liked the food and would have come back otherwise. Just left a bad taste in my mouth overall. read more
