I had such a great meal here one night that I went back a second time before the weekend was over! Even walking in later on a Friday night, the place was still pretty busy. We were greeted warmly and led to a cozy table in the back. Our waitress was super friendly and bubbly, but also patient as we took a while to determine what we want. This is a place you unfortunately have to pay for your chips and salsa, but it is worth. The chips come fresh and the salsa is so good! We also tried the Rincon dip, which was warm, cheesy, gooey, and had great flavor. They have a really good queso. My friend got one of their burritos and I got the fajita quesadilla with chicken. With your entree you get to pick your sides, so we both got mexican salad and I got refried beans, while she got black beans. Everything was awesome! I should've expected to love that quesadilla as much as I did after enjoyed the queso in the Rincon dip, but I will still blown away. The chicken was well seasoned, the cheese was great and there was a good amount, and the veggies were fresh and really added to the quesadilla. My friend loved the burrito and couldn't finish it because it was so much food. We also both got margaritas, which are a little pricey, but we enjoyed them a lot! I have found my new favorite mexican place in the area. The service was great, the prices are comparable to other places around, and the food is much better! I'll never return except for beers. It's just not like it used to be. Poor service. Mediocre food and high prices relative to the food delivered. So sad. This used to be one of the top 3 Mexican restaurants in the city decades ago. Now with the competition and poor management this place will wither, with shrinking profits and unless they sell and get new management they'll go into the dustbin of dead restaurants. This place was excellent. The food was perfect. The service was good but not great. Too much time between seating and final offering and too long of a wait for the bill. Restrooms were very clean and the front of house was as well. I didn't get a chance to look in the kitchen. I had Pollo Monterey and my wife had steak fajita Quesadilla . Both were fantastic. It was a sandwich, which surprised us, but it was full of chicken, cheese, guacamole, and light amount of tomato salsa. Although very messy to eat, it was delicious! I wish I'd ordered it frankly. We hadn't been in awhile. It used to be pretty good and worth the drive from the west side. However this last time a few weeks ago was average at best. Everything was bland and service was well service after covid which means awful. Still styled nice inside but there's better options out there. My husband and I came here for dinner because I just wanted some Fajitas lol. I've seen this establishment any time I've gone grocery shopping at Jungle Jims. Anywho - this place is pretty okay! Coming from San Diego, California - I didn't have high expectations to be honest. But the food was good and it came out super quick. I ordered the steak fajita and it was tasty. My only advice is to provide more guacamole because it was literally just a tablespoon full. My husband ordered one of their enchiladas and he's a simple guy, so he enjoyed it and ate all of it. Best Mexican place around! We go here all the time weather it be for lunch or dinner! The fajitas always come out sizzling and the elote corn is one of my favorite sides! The queso is nice and thick, not watery like some places. Anytime we have gone the food always comes out quick even when they seem busy. The staff also is very friendly. Easy enough place to find and conveniently located next to Jungle Jims Eastgate. The decor is what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant with textured walls and painted murals. It wasn't overly busy when we visited and were seated immediately. The staff seemed busy and tho it took a few minutes to get chips and salsa it was worth it. We had a margarita that was very well made, and ordered a chicken chimichanga and the burrito Colorado. We tried a couple of the different sides and the corn salad was pretty good (would have almost liked to try it warm) and the street corn was okay. The rice that came with the dishes was great and I almost wish I had ordered it instead of one of the corn sides. All in all, the meal was good, and super close to our house. Their peach margarita on the rocks is great, especially if you get their happy hour deal on Taco Tuesdays! I've tried a few different items in their menu, but the Cowboy Tacos are my favorite flavor wise, and you can get them with corn tortillas if you're gluten sensitive. They do charge you for chips and salsa which is why I took off one star. In my opinion, all great Mexican restaurants offer chips and salsa complimentary. This place is a long time favorite. It's been awhile since I've left a review so thought I'd give a shout out. Stopped in for lunch with my daughter on a beautiful spring day. Patio wasn't visibly "open" but when we asked the hostess said shouldn't be a problem but let me check with server since only one working at lunch time. He graciously said yes and first off, he tended to us like we were his only guests and there were several other tables inside. The food is always good but on this visit everything about it was outstanding. Everything was cooked perfect! My teenage daughter even finished her plate. This is my first time at Rincon, but I went with my mother, who usually loves the place. When we first arrived we waited at the hostess stand for an excessive amount of time while two of the workers were arguing a few feet away. Once we were finally sat, we were brought water and two salsa dishes (one had a chunk of food in it), but no salsa or chips. We did get our margaritas quickly and they were excellent-- best part of the experience. Once the waiter came to take our order we got chori queso. He brought that and chips. We asked why there wasn't tortillas (as it normally comes with at that location and many others) and he brought some. The chori queso itself had tons of meat (which I normally prefer) and barely any cheese. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and when it came it was wet and floppy on the bottom. I couldn't even pick it up with out it falling apart. It tasted like boiled chicken and some cheese. There was barely any vegetables or seasonings. We finally got salsa when we got our food. Been here maybe 50 times or more? Great Mexican place. Great wait staff and employees. Owner alway is improving things and seems on top of what's important. Food is very good and restaurant and bathrooms are clean. It does get crowded on peak weekend nights so you will wait in line. Plan ahead... My only issue is the chip charge. Used to be 1 free basket and I think this could be a Mexican restaurant tradition but not anymore. I guess it's like everything else getting more expensive. My advise is keep the chips free and raise menu prices so well still get that old feeling of "free chips"! read more

We went during Covid with friends and the amount of sanitizer stations surprised me! They were dispersed in several locations throughout the restaurant. My family and I went to Rincon tonight for dinner. We have been here several times and always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Tonight I ordered chips and salsa for our table and was told we have to pay for the salsa! Wtf...? We all ordered chimis and when they arrived none of us has the pico de gallo stuff. You know, lettuce tomatoes and onions with sour cream. When I asked about that, I was informed that too is an "extra cost." I spoke to who I was told "the boss" and he told me that the pico is now considered a side item and salsa is $3.00 per little yellow bowl.
