When I walked in here the first thing I noticed was just filth everywhere! There was food underneath the tables so many flies! They have the traditional menu options that look great and a section of perhaps the more regional authentic dishes, which is what I went for. I had the Enchiladas Michoacanas, recommended by the server as one of their specials. The chicken was amazingly tender, it fell off the bone, and had a crispy skin. The salsa is spicy and really good. It looks a like a popular local spot. Not knowing Spanish, I took pictures of menu and googled the dishes I didn't know. My husband discovered this restaurant one day and told me the tacos were very good. He can go for tacos, tortas or marisco any day of the week so i wasn't super thrilled about trying it. The first time we went I had flautas and they were delicious! My husband had some tacos and I tried the meat of one and it was very tasty. The actual restaurant is small and not fancy at all but the service is great. The second time we went we tried the shrimp cocktail (two for one on Fridays) and it was so good! This isn't the boring shrimp cocktail with a few shrimps and a glob of cocktail sauce that upscale restaurants serve. These are legit Mexican style cocktails with lots of cut up shrimp, avocado chunks, cucumber, cilantro and onion which is optional which I appreciate as I am not a fan of raw onion. It is all mixed into a delicious tomatoe juice that is slightly spicy. Add some tapatio and dip in crackers and you are set. If you are looking for some good authentic Mexican food this is a great place to go to. My husband is from L.A. and is always looking for places out here that meet his expectations. I've passed by this place hundreds of times and due to the aesthetics of the building i didn't want to give it a try. I went to this place to have breakfast one morning and didn't see anyone else eating there so I left without going in. Last night we went to eat here and I'm a little upset with myself for not giving this place a chance in the past. I ordered the mocajete mixto and it was awesome! Small restaurant, but mighty in taste. This is a sit down restaurant, but very casual. Good service. Warm tortilla chips with very good salsa. The beans are fantastic, they also brig a selection of salsa to your table to drizzle on your chips or to put on your food. Appears to be an avocado salsa, a green tomatillo salsa, and a red chile del arbol type of salsa. This is different than the chunky salsa that comes with the chips. Highly recommend. read more

First of all, let me tell you guys that this is by far the best place to get burrito mojado de lengua! I've tried multiple places and this spot seems to be the best! Their meat is always cut Nicely and the meat Isent too soft or hard. Although they do get pretty crowded the waitresses try their best to serve everyone as proper as they can. We have been here a few times over the last year. The first time was the day we drove here to meet our realtor to look at some houses. We found it on Yelp and was super excited since it's .99 tacos all the time. Magically the house we seen right after we left was the house we ended up buying. Since then we've came here probably 7 or 8 times since October. I've never eaten anything that I wasn't happy with here. I even went through a no red meat stage and their grilled chicken tacos are sooooo good a little crunchy so it fulfills your craving for tacos without having to mess up your diet. So we gave this place a try last night, after seeing pretty decent reviews. Here is my take.. Chips and salsa: Good flavor, spicy, and freshly made chips. Almost did a second bowl but didn't want to spoil our dinner. Mixto Molecajete: Lots of food, but honestly not good. All the protein was over cooked, dry, and flavorless. I would recommend to skip. Tacos (asada, carnitas, adobada): This is why you need to come. AMAZING tacos! I mean legit tacos, definitely my new favorite in IE. Well seasoned meat, cooked to perfection, onion, cilantro, salsa, between two tortillas. Just the way a taco should be! Note, if you don't like heat, ask for salsa on the side. Looks can be deceiving my husband and I have passed by this restaurant a million times we never thought to stop because on the outside it looks pretty shady. It's a diamond in the rough the parking is in the back of the restaurant so it always looks like it's empty but it's probably not. The food is delicious it is true Mexican food not like Alberto's or any of the other crap it's real traditional Mexican food. My husband had morisqueta and I had the enchiladas michoacanas I have never been to a Mexican restaurant where they have morisqueta we where surprised. The food is clean big plates and delicious! I ordered from this place and after 2 minutes my ordered was cancelled, I called up the place and the lady said the system logged her out, after 4:00 PM the system logs them out and I asked her well why can't you guy's put that on your website and she said well I'm not sure if the system logged us out, I then asked her where is my refund and she said well we didn't take out the money, we don't get paid unless we send out the order. so I called up my bank and they said the place did take out my money and I would have to wait 7 to 10 business days for a refund, wow!!
