The food here is solid and the service was good. I originally tried this place on a lunch date with my husband and have since went back with my mom and again with my son. Their lunch entrees actually include a drink, which was nice. You pretty much have to park behind the building, which is a bummer because the area is a little sketchy. Very authetico. Fresh ingredients, generous servings. Had tacos, pastor and adobada, and a wet burrito. Tacos had good flavor but were a little small, like Mexican street food and not bad. Food is good, but unless you're a male or accompanied by one or more, you won't get good service. These girls only cater to men, i have been there with my son who is 19 and my brother in law who is in his mid 20's and have gotten good service, but the couple of times I have been there with my sister or my mom, we have been completely ignored. On one occasion, we ordered take out and were missing half our order, yesterday our server didn't send our food order in, we waited over half an hour, finally a different server came with our food, but we were still missing one plate. (There were 3 of is and my 2 yo) our food order was wrong, but we didn't complain, my daughter didn't get her drink until we were getting up to leave. We never saw our server back at our table, but she was catering to the 2 gentlemen sitting next to us. I am in the food industry myself, and would never treat a customer like that. I would like to give it 4 starts, but that would mean "Yay, I'm a fan". I'll settle for 3 1/2 stars and the deductions are solely for the slow service. We tried this place out last Friday for lunch. Parking in the rear of the restaurant and is small. The inside is also small with a small kitchen (think of your grandma's home on sundays with tall the family around and this is the basic layout). It took about 10 minutes for someone to come around and take our order. It took another 25-30 minutes for our food to arrive (this was lunch time). They were busy with "take out" orders and did not put much attention to the inservice tables due to the small layout and probably 1 cook. We had to give them "the eye" several times and they told us food would be up shortly (not so much). I ordered the Aguachile and the Large shrimp coctail with octopuss. My dad ordered the Fish plate. The food and food portions were very good size. The Aguachile was AMAZING!!! Just enough spiciness to make your nose run, but not ruin the flavor with heat. The large cocktail was LARGE and tastey. The fish platter was also big. A full size Tilapia with all the fixins. Very well presented and excellent in taste. Price...2 people, the above 3 items came out to 51.00. We had 2 Jarritos to drink and water. Kinda pricey, but thats what you get when you order Mariscos, I guess. I want to go back mainly for the Aguachile, but I will definitely come back! read more

The food is delicious. But the service is PATHETIC. They deliver the dishes separately, minutes apart. They do not come back to check on you or refill your drinks. And they don't bring the bill or make eye contact. read more

I consider the full parking lot and a short wait for a table as positives because this place is popular for a reason and well worth the wait. Wait staff is friendly and responsive and the food is fantastic, by far the best Mex I've had in the Riverside area. I had chicken enchiladas which were fantastic and my girl had shrimp fajitas, both were amazing. The salsa is also fantastic. Next time I'm there I want to get a couple quarts to go. Came in because I had heard of this little place, and it did not disappoint. My husband had the ceviche tostadas and I had the shrimp stuffed fish. My portion was very big and filing, my husbands tostadas were portioned nicely and also filing. We will be coming again. read more

I brought my mom to this spot randomly because we were both craving a shrimp cocktail. I saw the reviews and I am so glad we took a chance on this place. Everything was DELICIOUS! This place drew me in because of the pictures of the food and the variety of foods they serve. Well my husband had the 7 mares and he said it tasted old and salty, reheated from like the day before. Now.. I know it's hard to keep these items on hand fresh but this was terrible. Ughh now I had the costa azul and it was supposed to be cheese stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. It was a terrible experience the bacon was so toasted to a crust to the point it didn't taste like bacon and you couldn't even smell that it was bacon and NO CHEESE! Dang it! Terrible surprise I even cut them open in front of the waitress and she didn't really know what to say and I felt so bad complaining and since I'm not a wasteful person I just kept it. She did offer a discount and regardless we left a tip. But I will be taking my business elsewhere. Also the michelada sucked bad. Like 3 drips of Clamato and I really like pouring my own beer. What a great find. Have driven by this restaurant many times so glad we decided to stop in. From the first moment we walked in we were greeted by a young lady with a beautiful smile. I wish I would've got her name, when we go back and we will definitely be back I will find out her name and post it. It's small, authentic and just a nice place to have dinner. The young lady was the only waitress there but never made you feel like you were wanting for service. We did order to go, we ordered bean and cheese burritos mine with enchilada sauce, and the carne asada nachos. Boy howdy everything tasted great. Growing up, there was a taqueria on every corner in OC, but since I've moved to Riverside, the good mom and pop spots have been hard to come by. I think I've found my new spot. Very nice place. I went there yesterday for lunch and I really liked it. There was only 2 girls handling the front, they were polite attentive and kept the place clean. My food (camarones a la diabla) did take about 15 minutes to be ready but it was worth the wait. I will definitely go back just not on my lunch break. read more
