We just had our Mothers' Day brunch today and it was great…read more I ordered the "chicken" sandwich, my wife had a breakfast burrito, and our son had the nacho mac-n-"cheese". It was all excellent. Even the coffee was really good. Our server was completely knowledgeable about accommodating our son's allergies, too. Btw, it's a good thing we arrived slightly before 11:00 because the place was packed by noon. I think this is going to be a regular thing for us, to stop off on our way to our Detroit Symphony Sunday afternoon concerts. The only thing that might have made the experience better: if Spacecat V-stro had a liquor license and could have served us Bloody Marys with our brunch. ;-)

First of all, the place is super cute, very clean and the staff is welcoming and friendly. They don't have many items you could call a breakfast, so we went with the burrito and the special of the week, waffle party. Both were good, well seasoned and tasted really home made. They should mention that the dishes come with sweet potatoes, not regular ones, as not everyone likes sweet potatoes. My husband doesn't, so he wasn't very happy when he got the plate. I had to eat them. The warm salad could have more seasoning. Overall, we were happy with the food and everything l, the reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the price. Not that there is anything expensive going into the food, chickpea tofu is far less expensive than soy tofu, homemade sausage too if you compare to fake meats. For that reason we probably won't be coming back. $20 for a waffle sandwich is too expensive in my opinion.

It's an easy place to settle in, whether you're grabbing a drink, meeting friends, or easing into a weekend. I love that they have brunch now, and it's legit. The Dubai pancakes are a must--flavorful, indulgent, and straight-up beautiful. They also know how to properly scramble an egg, which sounds basic until you realize how many places mess that up. We eat with our eyes first, and the food here always looks as good as it tastes. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes a big difference. Great drinks, great food, great vibes. Definitely a go-to spot in Royal Oak--and one I'm always happy to highlight as @DonnyLB on IG/TikTok. Check me out and check this place out.

The inside and outside was decorated head-to-toe in festive lights, ornaments, and wrapping paper. My party and I sat in their igloo outdoor seating which highlighted the festive atmosphere. The igloo seating was easy to book online on Open Table with a max seating of 6 people per igloo. The holiday drink menu for the Jingle pop up had a lot of range. I tried their Santa's Milk & Cookies holiday cocktail, which came in a festive Mrs. Claus' mug. The drink was VERY strong! I ordered the Crisper Chicken Sandwich which had a delicious pesto aioli and sun-dried tomato relish which elevated the sandwich. Yum! Between the decor, themed drinks, great food, and the fun atmosphere, this event was such a great way to kick off the holiday season. If you're thinking about checking out a holiday pop-up, Ale Mary's Jingle is absolutely worth it!

And…read morekeeping along those lines the toppings available for their pizzas are a bit your average run of the mill toppings. They offer things like beef brisket, corned beef, and flaming hot Cheetos just to name a few. They even have a pizza with hemp crust. This location has take out and delivery. It is clean and painted with the bright magenta and yellow pizza cat brand colors. There is parking out front. You can build your own pie or go for one of their specialty recipes including options many vegetarian and some vegan options. They also carry chicken and a few sandwiches. I ordered delivery which was prepared quickly, accurately and according to my order. Staff was friendly and good at recommending options when ordering. The small pizza and cheese bread was perfect for two but next time we'd get the bigger size. When picking up my order the music was very loud, we had to yell to tell him our order. Neither the cashier nor I could hear what each other was saying and had to repeat everything we said multiple times. I guess that should be expected from young boys working at a pizza place!

Folks still get confused that the garage entrance door won't get them into the restaurant…read more It is mostly a sit down only. The counter space is the kitchen space and check-out, a different layout and setup inside than its predecessors. Not an inexpensive menu here at all. However the menu is quite extensive and expansive for vegan options. Gets a bit chilly without a coat since the door rushes in cold blasts of air to keep the dining area cool. Had to put my coat back on. I was glad I had on warm boots on as well, as I could feel the coolness on my legs. Ordered a protein bowl with steak, the lobster melt and the cowboy burger. $71.02 They are out of guacamole and sweet potatoes, today. :( There is a large party ahead of us with about 14-16 people and their food is slowing down our food from coming out in a timely manner. The protein bowl was okay, the steak was quite dry and definitely overcooked. The green goddess dressing is super thick and creamy, but doesn't have a lot of flavor to it. I was glad to get the lemon vinaigrette dressing to add some tartness and flavor to the overall salad. Some of the chick peas were hard as a rock - quite odd. Not sure this salad was worth $23. The cowboy burger was good, messy, but it stayed intact. $22 seems a bit steep for a vegan burger though. The lobster melt tasted pretty good, however, the white sourdough bread slice didn't hold up so well to each bite and fell apart, rather brittle. I ended up having to gut the sandwich and eat it with fork bites. Eating it as a hand sandwich was too hard to eat. $22 for a composite vegan melt. Hmm. :/ I do like the food choices, the cowboy burger was the better of the 3 picks. Prices are hefty for what you get.

Finally made it for Saturday lunch. Disappointed…read more The ambiance for an afternoon lunch doesn't cut it for me. Music was way too loud asked to turn down and didn't happen. A lot of push on happy hour and I'm not a drinker lots of us vegans are not. Guess that explained the loud drunk guy at the bar cursing up a storm. Is this a bar club or a lunch place that my party can hear me talk? It was 1pm. The Food: Wanted to like it but when it's a beyond burger and a protein bowl that I have to cut each item it's a problem. No real creativity. Vegan food is not just throwing a package meat replacement on a bun and veggies. In house meat replacements, homemade sauces are a must. Scale down the menu quality not quantity. Looked like the Cheesecake Factory menu. Ordered waffles for my son those were good but not what we ordered they ran out of items and forgot all the toppings. The service: Slow ( was only 3 people in the place) and was not what we ordered. Had to keep asking for condiments for food. I don't see this place lasting and sad because I'm sure they put their heart into it. The food has to be on point with items that are made from scratch. My comments may seem harsh but I hope to see them stay in business but make the necessary changes to thrive in the vegan restaurant business. Restaurants are already a hard market to stand out in. Good Luck MV! I don't think I will be coming back. It has to be a heck of a lot better than what I make at home.
