Where has this place been all my life? Absolutely delicious. I got the tacos Berria de res, jalapeno cheese dip and the streak fajitas. The tacos were for me. It was my favorite food growing up in cali and I've been searching for a place that even serves these. Oh. My. God. To die for. I enjoyed every bite and drank the remaining strew after. It was still hot even after uber eats. Game changer in thurston county. The cheese dip was really good too. Im so full I can't eat anymore. My bf got the fajitas and said they were good too. Mi Pueblo is one of my family and I's favorite spots to go eat some authentic Mexican food with some FLAVOR!! It's really difficult with my reviewing right now because the only thing that is keeping it at a 4 is the food. Is that wrong of me?? Or do I put a 3 and explain why I put a 3 and let them work their way back up by community vote over a six month time frame?? For the people that read reviews. Here's the Dilemma... The service has gone DOWNHILL BAD I have gone there on multiple more occasions because I love the crispy de papa tacos. The ones that are usually the special, and the birria tacos. I just call them dippy tacos because my tongue is total gringo and can't roll rr's, and I sound like a total idiot. We'll just because I'm light skinned please don't underestimate my knowledge of Spanish. I won't go into detail specifically, but the female staff needs to realize they can be heard by customers!! If I want to call them Dippy Tacos, I WILL continue to call them dippy tacos which if you don't like it, I suggest you stop following my reviews now. They are my dippy tacos and they're to die for. Depending when, how and where you get them. (I got them once fabulous here & once disappointing here) I have noticed though with everyone I have visited this establishment with probably 85-90% of the time the women are always so crabby uptight, and not very friendly. Once with a girlfriend, I asked for a different "waiter (male)" all together, because he wanted to be there and had a smile from ear to ear. We wanted to be around "that" energy for our girl time together there. We even said to hell with it and had an adult beverage . It turned out to be be a great lunch. Point being. No one wants to go through that or experience it first thing being there.. We're there for a reason. To be welcomed, relax, and grub down. Maybe throw back an adult beverage. Not be treated poorly because I asked for your salsa trio, or talked about because I am "ridiculous, gringo, and called them dippy tacos" So, you have to bring out 3 salsas instead of one. Attitudes can make or break ya in the serving industry. Especially, if you have a customer that walks in with a tipameter!! Tipameters are a real thing to many many people. To bad so many people are referencing to them nowadays with the economy being how it is. Their meals eating out are more precious. With cost of living so expensive, and people go out to eat. They want good customer serve and boy do they deserve it!! Reviews are to be honest. So, I am. I'm not trying to be rude because I keep coming back since 2014 I think it's been. And your food truck too. You need to add a steak bowl and I wouldn't have to go "to the other guy" sometimes. It has declined because of these issues. The owner is super sweet and welcoming. I haven't seen him in my last couple visits. So, I do throw him a shout out!! For always having good food, and cold beer or adult beverage of your choice. With all that being said, the food portions have decreased just like all other restaurants, so you do get a lot more rice and beans now. I did notice that. Yeah, I'm gonna have to sleep on this rating. The prices!! Don't even get me started on one situation I was involved in. Very long story short. I didn't wanna cook one night and I knew I had Chile Relleno's in the freezer I could unthaw. So, I stopped by to purchase a bowl of Chile verde. Thinking I could top them with. Just like a small cereal bowl. $45-50 they wanted to charge me!! I obviously left with no green chili. I had green enchilada sauce in a can at home and green chilis in a can. Used that. Worked great. The food is really good here though, but the prices are a little high for Mexican food, and for the quantity of the "actual main dish" that you get, Is my personal opinion comparable to surrounding Mexican restaurants, and their main dish quantities. As for the ambiance, it's ok. It's tight. They hardly ever open up the expansion side, so you get stuck sitting by the door. Which is the worst spot of the restaurant. It's constantly being opened and closed, people bumping you, waitress, moving closer to you to move outta there way, it's loud, the draft. It just sucks. I don't know why they think people like to sit right in front of the door. It's all about cramming as many people into one space, and be uncomfortable. Especially large parties...with kids!? We drive by and if the expansion light is off we keep driving. At night for dinner service it's so cold when you cram all those tables in one area by the door. Why not open the warm expansion side where we're not constantly interrupted, and tripped over during our meal?? I don't understand?? We'd actually stop when we drive by. I'm all about supporting the community and family run businesses. These are minor issues that can definitely be fixed. You just need to be aware where problems lay and work on them. I'll revisit my review in 6 months and go from there. read more

Absolutely not what we were expecting - in the worst way. Food was your average Tex mex, and their quesa birria/rice and beans were nothing to call home about. Their steak and carnita tacos are very foul tasting. Very disappointing, especially since all the reviews about their birra made it seem great. We've definitely had better chips and salsa elsewhere, but their overall service was good. The atmosphere was nice. read more

I now have found my new restaurant... family ran and you are treated like you are part of the family...we went there last night, our kiddos cheer team went there after a competition... the girls were so sweet they did a dance for the owner... who just became a US citizen!! For years this has been my go to Mexican restaurant. I have always raved about it to others. So it pains me to write this review. I ate there this evening and ordered a chicken taco salad. When it arrived I dug my fork in and...no chicken. I called the waitress over and said there's no chicken in the taco salad. I dug my fork in again and came up with a single bit of chicken. I was told that's the normal amount of chicken...and if I wanted more chicken it would be an additional $3.50!! That's insane to be charged for the chicken that wasn't there to beggin with. Also the taco shell was only halfway filled with the lettuce and NO GUACAMOLE! Every other Mexican restaurant I've been to includes guacamole in their taco salad. Incredibly disappointed in this meal...and the fact they did nothing to make it right for me. I won't be going back! read more

3rd time going to this restaurant. One of the better options in the area. Food was fresh, service was speedy. Only thing I'd change is the strong msg flavor I had while eating the carne asada. Although It was a large portion of meat, the metallic taste from the msg was super obvious after it cooled down a bit. Two thumbs up for the guacamole, margarita is tasty and I lost $5 betting my son he couldn't handle the grilled whole jalapeño that came with my steak. We will be back. read more

Living in the Pacific Northwest there are many Mexican restaurants and food trucks in the Olympia and surrounding area. The Service was excellent and the food was good but bland no flavor. It needed seasoning and a little acid like some limes on the plate. I read a article on Newsmax rating this restaurant the best Tacos in Olympia but it's far from it. Pork pineapple taco was bland and dry. I don't know the name of the individual who wrote the article in Newsmax but obviously they don't get out much. Perhaps I should apply and for this place, the top nursing home food go here. read more

This spot was close to where my hairdresser is located and needed some food before heading back home. The oldest girl and I went for the Carne Asada plate, and the littles went for kids quesadilla with rice and beans and the kids chicken fingers with fries. My daughter said the quesadilla was good,and the chicken fingers were good. The pepper could have been roasted a lot longer to really make the heat come out, the steak was cooked perfect and it was tender with juices flowing. The tortillas were made fresh which is always nice. The only down side was the small amount of guacamole but given the fact it taste like it was going bad I was fine. The rice was a bit dry even though it was cooked well, and the whole beans were very delicious. Overall it was a nice little spot to stop and grab something quick to eat! The service was wonderful and they even have Green salsa, which is hard to find in Wa very happy about that and it was really good!!!!! The Jamaica was a bit water down but it had good flavor and the Horchata was made perfect not too sweet! They do offer a military discount, be sure to show your ID and support your local restaurants. What happened?? We had been coming here for over a year now. We have always had such great service but the other day was just not right. My husband is allergic to dairy. He told them like he always does and got his beans smothered in cheese. He let the server know and she took it back to the kitchen. Within seconds she returned and there was still cheese on the plate. He let her know and suggested maybe not using the same plate. The third plate they brought back still had cheese! He just ate what he could and they discounted $10 off the bill. We had asked for togo boxes for our daughter. While she opened up the container to put her leftovers the server took her plate away before she could box it up! At this point we just had to laugh and leave. Sorry to say we won't be coming back anymore. We need to make sure we eat somewhere that takes food allergies seriously. read more

Way larger than it appears on the outside. It's a full service restaurant with a taqueria bar. Plenty of seating, full bar, warm and friendly service. The kids menu is extensive with big pictures to make it easy for even the youngest child to communicate their choice. I ordered the Burrito Mexicana which was huge and tasty. My husband enjoyed his beef chimichanga and beef taco. Their salsa is really really good. I ordered their house margarita in a size small and it was huge! Very tart but well balanced. Ambience is super casual. It's located in a strip mall so parking is easy. The area looked like it could be dicey at night, so I'd recommend coming for lunch. read more

You should support this restaurant because they have great food and amazing service. They have outside dining under a large tent with 4 or 5 heaters. The tent blew away and broke during the last storm and they had to buy another and you could see the struggle in the owners face. Please order birria it is very delicious or try the torta that is covered in red sauce and onions. 10/10 best Mexican food I've had since I lived In Southern California. My husband and I love this place! It's probably the best Mexican food we've found out here so far.. we love it so much we make it a weekend thing. We normally get the green chicken enchiladas and the menudo. Both are great, the menudo could use a little more flavor but it does the job. We've been here a few times and have always had great food. Today I tried the Taco Mixtecos plate, which has 3 nopales (cactus leaves) tacos, as I had always wanted to try them (anywhere...not just here). Seriously so delicious - the nopales were smoky and the flavor of all the elements in the taco combined was perfect. They do have a bit of a kick to them spiciness wise, but it was the good kind of heat, plus the whole beans and rice sides are great to help keep it in check. Yelp, you *almost* never lead me astray. I was looking for quality Mexican food, because as a cali girl, it's easy to find amazing food there, but not so much here. I have tried places all over Olympia and NEVER been impressed. Mi Pueblo has caught my eye but I never went in until today.....what a great decision. I had a combo-2 tacos dorados(crispy) and an enchilada with rice and beans. It was about $13. Both the chicken AND shredded beef were amazing. I could've done without their red sauce, it just wasn't my favorite. Hearty serving would be an understatement, it was worth the price for sure! Hubby had the gringo burrito. It was $13. It was great other than the lack of sour cream. We literally only had a tablespoon full in a huge burrito. When we mentioned it we were brought more, but only for a $1.75 up charge. Overall, the burrito was worth the cost. Child's plate was $5.50 plus $1.50 for soda. She had an enchilada with rice and beans. It was a very very fair portion size. Chips and salsa are complimentary. The waitress was very nice. The food was served very fresh and hot, as well as the chips! For the owner-offer a half portion or a daily special, it would draw me back ATLEAST once a week and I am on the Westside. Overall, I am very impressed, I felt at home, and I will be back to try the pozole, tortilla soup, crema and churros! Thank you for providing quality service and authentic food to WA!
