Happened to be in olímpica for some personal business. Were starved and found this little Colombian place. Now I'm Colombian so I've had both good and authentic Colombian fare. De La Colombiana is strait "mid". Food: we ordered a good variety of food because the person with me hadn't had Colombian food before. Chorizo - not authentic. A bit odd texture and much larger than those I've eaten in bogota. Flavor was ok. We only had a couple bites and left the rest. Beef guacha empanadas: good flavor. Tho the dough was not completely done or puffy like it should be. Ajiaco & sancocho: both were good. Missing salt. Full w goodness of veggies. The sancocho had yucca and the ajiaco had potatoes. Served with the usual side of rice and avocado. Plantain "maduros": good but plain rains weren't fully ripe so they weren't as sweet or soft as usual. Service: I'm assuming the owner took our order. 4 times. She was so preoccupied w everything around her and not the people in front of her. Every time I tried to place my order she'd look to the left or right and talk to her crew, talk to a customer at a diff table or someone walking in but not focused on getting out order. So a little annoying as customer. Mango juice (water based) was good. Made from mango puree. You can add milk and sugar if you like. Ambiance: casual hole in the wall reminds me a lot of the local small restaurants in SA. Several authentic "campesina" outfits on the walls which. Rough back fond memories of dancing in the folclóricos as a kid. Might try again if I'm Olympia but wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.

Everything we ordered was delicious! We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Cute little spot downtown. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a little snack. Opted for the Empanadas Colombiana with beef and two juices--one mango, one soursop. The empanadas came with salsa. The salsa was pretty mild. The empanadas themselves were crispy and pretty tasty--just very small. The juices were good. Not sure if they use fresh fruits or not, but was nice to try something different since most places don't have soursop. The POS system rings things up weird, when you look at your receipt, the prices look different than what is on the menu--not sure how they have it set up, but can be a bit confusing. My order was voided and reprocessed because something wasn't applied correctly. They have a display case with Malta and other beverages; and cute decor. The lady at the counter was nice, and tried her best at explaining when we asked for further detail on menu items. Good place for a snack.

This place is 10/10. I was reading the other reviews and honestly it's a personal taste thing rather than the food not being good. The sauces for the empanadas are the way they should be mild and the variety is plentiful. Best authentic Colombian food. If you want something washed down do not come here. She cooks with her heart and we love coming here! Her attention and customer service are always good. Please be patient and kind when ordering when it's busy.

We ordered empanadas colombianas beef and cheese as an appetizer and they were good. The plate was good but not something I would order again. I'd definitely come back for empanadas and a soda or something small but I don't think I'd order a plate again.

One of each empanadas with meat - delicious!!

New restaurant next door to the Red Lion Inn where I'm staying with my kiddos. We conveniently walked over and enjoyed empanadas and a very large arepa with ham and cheese. The service was pleasant with Mari and Julia. Very spacious inside with plenty of seating and it's beautifully decorated and feels tropical. Oh, and the fresh guayaba juice (without sugar) was refreshing and satisfying. Please give this new business a try, they are 4 months old, and I will definitely make the trip back in a couple of weeks with my hubby.

    Empanadas; beef, cheese, spinach!

10/10 highly recommend!! My husband is Panamanian so we prefer the crunchy corn dough empanadas! I just came across this place today on doordash and I couldn't wait for the weekend to try it! Ordered 4 empanadas one for each of my family members to try and a sausage! Completely blown away by the perfection this restaurant provides!! Crispy flavourful dough, deliciously scrumptious filling. Can't wait to check out the actual restaurant and ordering more!! Thank you Don De La Colombiana!!! You're just what Oly was missing! See you soon!

Ever since my boyfriend and I moved from NYC to Seattle, one of the things we've been yearning to…read moreencounter is hearty Colombian(him)/Ecuadorian(me) food. New York was crawling in delicious Southern American food. So we decided to go on an adventure to Tacoma and visit this establishment, and I'm so glad we did. Upon walking in, the space is decorated in Colombian flags, license plates, banners, and other miscellaneous decor. The tropicana radio station playing in the back made us feel like we were back in Manizales for a brief moment. We were greeted with kindness and curiosity as we exchanged cultural backgrounds. Foods that we ate: - Pandebono (Plain, with no guyaba): One of the many famous breads Colombia has to offer, the flavor was spot on. Savory and cheesy with a nice chew. It was more airy than I was anticipating, so a lot of empty pockets while eating it (it's usually denser), but still delicious nonetheless. If you like a sweet surprise, would recommend getting the pandebono with guyaba inside. - Buñuelo: Another great cheese bread in the shape of a sphere and fried. The inside was super soft and airy as well which is more on brand for this! Although not typically crunchy or hard, the shell did lack a bit of toughness that's normally expected. Again, did not take away from the enjoyable experience otherwise. - Bandeja Paísa: Nearly perfect, we were both so stunned. The chorizo and chicharron were AMAZING. The chicharron had the perfect amount of meat, more crunchy than chewy which is what we preferred. I don't know what blend the chorizo is made out of, but it was packed with flavor. The steak was a little tough but still delicious. Avocado, fried egg, the arepa, all complemented the dish well. I personally don't like maduros, but the one in this dish was not too sweet at all, delicious. The frijoles were also packed with flavor, giving the rice a wonderful flavor to soak up. We definitely need to come back and have their churrasco for sure. If you're Colombian in the Seattle area or are looking to try Colombian food for the first time, this is a must visit!!!

The ambiance was vibrant with tasteful cultural music which I truly could not get enough of. The restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms and what you can see of the kitchen. Now for the food; I was not overly impressed. They seem to be popular for their empanadas but from my experience they were bland, cooked from frozen, and lacked that the booming flavor I was expecting for an authentic Colombian restaurant. Some of the entrees they make looked good but there were a few of those I wouldn't recommend either. I likely won't return but I'm excited I had the opportunity to see what they were about.

TLDR: Food: 3/5 Okay…read morePrice: 3/5 $$ Service: 4/5 Ambiance: N/A, it's a food truck. We went because we were already in the parking lot and it smelled good, which is always a great sign. The two folks working were nice and knowledgeable. Sadly they were out of Arepas so my plan to start loudly singing songs from Encanto in my car while eating one was foiled, at least for today. We ordered quite a few menu items but noticed there were not prices listed which was a bit annoying. The cost for what we received was not a great value and only one of the items we ordered was worth the price. Perhaps if we try them again they will be not be out of arepas and we won't be as dissatisfied but chances are we won't as the price point does not match the flavor. The stuffed potatoes were good, but overall it was just under-seasoned and the fries were soggy in a "your fryer should be hotter" kind of way. Which makes sense because they inevitably fried all of it, one dish after the other. Generally, you could try it, and maybe if we had come earlier, it would have been better or if we had eaten there, in the little table area they had set up (which is covered so there is that at least), but I don't think so. I will say that in general, South American food is less spiced and salted than Mexican food, and so it is entirely possible it was supposed to taste the way it came and I am just not enough of a foodie purist to appreciate it. As it stands, I am sure that some of the flavors could be right for some folks and there is a certain homey flavor town that they visit, albeit not exceptionally well.

Rico's Fast Food Colombian Cuisine, a business getting its start as a food truck in Bothell,…read morerecently took over Mis Antojitos (currently for 3 days a week according to Google), and started serving Colombian dishes as part of their soft opening. While they still have all the Mexican food served as part of the Mis Antojitos menu, the real treat (and what 90% of customers were ordering), are the Colombian items. These specials currently are not displayed anywhere in the store and instead are hidden, available only to people in the know. We weren't among that crowd, but we essentially went in and ordered what other people were getting. The food took about 25 minutes to come out since everything was made fresh to order (and due to some soft opening woes, I suppose). I've only eaten Colombian food once or twice before, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt: Bandeja Paisa ($20) - Starting with the beans - very home-style, like the type of beans to eat when sick. Not salted too much and not spiced too much, but tender and easy to eat. There's an arepa, thin and crisp on the exterior, tender and fluffy on the interior. Similar to a senbei rice cracker until bit into, revealing the tender, fluffy, and starchy interior. It's not seasoned so there isn't much taste, but it's a nice vessel to dip into the beans and eat with the meat. There are a couple of pieces of sweet yellow plantain that seem to be deep fried, resulting in a harder crust spread evenly throughout the exterior. The interior, of course, is tender and creamy. They are served hot and steaming and almost burned my mouth while eating! There's a bit of rice served in the center with good texture and fragrance, not mushy and not too hard. It's coated in oil and seasoned with salt. In terms of protein, there's a sunny side up egg that has a mostly jammy yolk, tender whites and a lacy, crispy brown edge, a half Colombian sausage that's snappy and very flavorful, bursting with juices with each bite, and finally two pieces of beef (skirt steak?). I was going to give this dish a 5 before I got to the beef. Unfortunately, the steak seems to be deep fried and perhaps forgotten in the fryer for an inordinate amount of time, resulting in the meat becoming exceptionally dry, super tendinous, chewy, and generally very difficult to eat. This is one of the very few times I wished there were some kind of steak sauce or other condiment on the side to breathe life into the beef. I don't know if this is how it's supposed to be, but the beef was the only thing I did not enjoy. (4/5) Buñuelos (Complimentary) - We didn't realize they were serving Buñuelos until we saw basically every table receive a tray with a couple of them. This was only after we had placed our order, and when I asked if I could order one, the owner gave us one on the house! This is the first time I've eaten this, thinking it would be similar to a pao de queijo, but it's completely different. The exterior crust is amazing, and the interior is dense yet fluffy and only somewhat cheesy, instead of being mochi-like in consistency. It's different, but really good in it's own way. (5/5) Tosti Escquites ($9.50) - Since we were here, we decided to try something off the Mis Antojitos menu as well. This dish is really simple, with basically chile and lime round tostitos topped with corn, slightly sweet and creamy mayonnaise, and lots of crumbled cojita. Very simple, but very filling. (4/5) We also tried a can of Colombiana Soda ($2.50) that tastes very similar to a cream soda. Overall the food I ate was very good, except the beef, but that might be intentional and just not my preference. I can't wait for their grand opening so I can try some more good Colombian food. Note: Rico's charges a 3% credit card fee Bathrooms - It was locked, so it might require a key from the front?
