Alcapurrias is always good. Carne Frita is pretty dry. The juice is fresh. May not order Carne Frita next time.

Amazing, friendly, and welcoming service!! The passion fruit juice was delicious and very fresh. The woman who helped me was extremely nice and helpful. The food was good and tender. Sad that I was unable to don't Dine in as I was out of town.

It is kinda hard to find good Puerto Rican food in WA. So I was impressed when I visited OSJ. The space is nice. The food seasoning reminds me of my grandma. Everything I tried was so good. To start we tried the Tostones rellenos de pulpo (octopus) and they were sesoned well and the octopus was tender. Then we ordered the bacalaito trio, they were good but I wished they were bigger. The alacapurrias were my favorite. They were filled with a lot of meat and the sazon was on point. Then the main entrees were bistec encebollado con arroz blanco y habichuelas. The bistec was tender, flavorful and habichuelas were seasoned. The carne frita was good. For drinks we ordered Piña Coladas and they were good. They could've had more alcohol in them LOL. The staff was attentive and super nice. If you are looking for a good Puerto Rican restaurant I recommend it. It's a bit of a drive from Seattle but it is worth it!

OMG I have been going to OSJ since they just opened up in their first location next to what is now the Tilted Rock. I had never had Puerto Rican food until then. That was over 10 years ago. Needless to say, they are forever going to be a staple in my life!! The FLAVORS ay dios mio, The BEST! MOFONGO WHAT? And then TRIFONGO!! When they moved to a larger spot, I was so happy for them because their clientele sure was growing. Can't blame them. Everything on the menu is amazing. The service is top notch!! I love you Carla!! Your family is blessing everyone with the love they have in the food they make and share with us all!! The Latin vibes walking in with the music and dimly lit room, I like it. They aren't dine in capable right now due to staff shortage but that isn't stopping me from ordering. I'm excited for you to open back up fully and will always support your family business!!

Via an IG post & a Plate of Nations showcase, I was able to locate them again. Currently, their food truck is located in South Seattle in Hillman City right off of S Brandon & Rainier Ave S. Earlier this morning I saw a post that the pernil was ready. Pernil is marinated and slow roasted pork shoulder which results in tender, succulent meat. Omg, I'm so there! Traffic on I-5, I-90, and Rainier Ave S was merciful and I found a parking spot diagonal from their food truck. I ventured over after 12noon and was greeted by one of the owners. She was putting finishing touches on the specials whiteboard. There's their usual menu, as well as, today's featured specials. I ordered a pair of pernil empanadillas. With my order, I was given a sauce cup with cilantro aioli, which was recommended by one of the owners. I kept the takeout box open so the empanadillas would remain crisp. The tantalizing scent permeated my car. I was good and did not feast on one while driving. Once home, a brief nuke, cut it in half, first tasted the pernil on its own (amazing!), then the crust (thin & crispy), finally another bite altogether with the recommended dipping sauce. On point flavorful savory special! Look forward to coming back to try other menu items: appetizers, sandwiches, hearty entree plates, and mofongo bowls. Plus their dessert flan!

I have had my fair share of visits to NY but clearly need to trying the PR food there and also need to prioritize going straight to PR as well. Ive had the food in Cuba and this was nothing close to that so, let move on. We had the Pollo al Carbon, Coco Greens and Hushpuppies. For drinks we had the Rhude Boy and Sandia. The Pollo al Carbon was not good at all. The chicken was smoked (dry) and the sauce underneath it taste like nothing. The veggies and potatoes were good though! The Hushpuppies tasted more like cinnamon and were simply not good. The Coco Greens tasted like kelp and coconut milk. Service was also decent! Our server was kind and friendly despite us returning the first thing that came out, the Hushpuppies. The drinks were made and sat for about 5mins after the bartender made them while our server was stocking silverware. Despite the food being nasty and the drinks taking some time to be served, I appreciated that they included gratuity for the sake of supporting staff. Overall, I liked the drinks but truly could've lived without the food.

Good thing I happen to see via IG that they were having a neighborhood celebration for their 2nd year in business (6/7/26). After circling, I did manage to snag a parking spot at the end of the block. This popular hole in the wall is located on E Olive Way between a cannabis shop and a hair salon. Folks were already queued up or seated at the array of sidewalk tables and chairs. The vibe was festive and upbeat. I was mesmerized with the culinary dance that had three, including chef/owner Jose Garzon, cooking all the incoming orders for onsite eating or takeout in such a tight space. Reminded me of an efficiently laid out galley. I tried half of the Tio Dan Cono Glizzy. A grilled hot dog with cream cheese, caramelized onion, and picadillo beef. I also took home a can of Yonder cider for The Homie. I overheard that each hour there's other featured food. Fried rice was next up after the hot dogs. While waiting for my takeout order, it was great to just take in the vibe of the front counter and cooking area. No seating available, so I just walked back down Olive and savored the grilled Fake Ass Cuban. Think of a cubano using a trio of Hawaiian rolls generously filled with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. The grill press, makeshift plancha, created a flavorful, cheesy end result. Omg, that was delicious! Another Capitol Hill culinary gem. Wishing everyone at Bad Chancla continued success!

The appetizers, drinks, entrees, and dessert were all absolutely incredible. My husband, 6 month old son, and I sat down right when they opened at 5 and upon looking at the menu I knew it would be tricky picking what to get because everything sounded soooo amazing. We got the meat pastry as well as the plantain appetizers which were excellent. I got the guava mojito, my husband got their version of a margarita. I believe both were made with white wine. Super tasty! I ordered the rockfish which was one of their specials and my husband got the Cuban sampler plate. We shared and truly enjoyed every single bite. Their cilantro sauce is to die for, I'd drink it with a straw if I could! Although we were quite full, we shared the cheesecake with a gauge sauce which is a family recipe, a bit softer than normal cheesecake and better in my opinion. As well as their special that was cubes of fried cream with a citrus sauce (I can't recall the name). All of which we paired with espresso. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Dining with a baby can be tricky but they made it easy by even bringing my son a book. And as if the food wasn't good enough, the restaraunt is so cute with a fun Cuban vibe. We can't wait to come back and work our way through the menu! Which will be hard to do because what we got was so good I'll want to order it again!
