Do not order delivery from this business. They will take your money and then refuse the delivery. They claim to have a max travel time of 10 minutes per delivery but thats nowhere on their ordering interface. When asked to cancel the order, the FOH person says they can't do that and I have to go to through "the company." Meaning ChowNow. Absolute bullshit. Took my money on a false promise of food delivery, changed the rules of the agreement mid-game, refused to take accountability for refunding over $60 of my hard earned cash. I went back and forth on whether or not to give this Mexican restaurant 4 or 5 stars. In the end, I gave in and awarded them what I believe is a well-deserved 5 stars. Compared to the other Mexican restaurants in Crozet, Mi Rancho is the clear winner in the competitions of flavor, ambiance, and service. I went into this restaurant for the first time with low expectations because of a person who had had a mixed experience. Nevertheless, this restaurant was only a short walk from my apartment so I figured I'd give it a try. I was given the standard chips and salsa, which thankfully was free. The chips were warm, and there was great evidence that they were made in house. The salsa, also made in house, was tasty and had the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Not pictured here is their fabulous cheese dip. You do not need to order any cheese dip size other than a small, but rest assured their cheese dip is exceptional. Warm, blended flavors make up a dip with the perfect consistency and no clumping. And then, the quesadilla, a meal that is typically soggy or dry, came out with color, freshness, and stuffed with plenty of ingredients. It was one of the better quesadillas I've had at a Mexican restaurant in a long time. You really can't go wrong with this place. While I cannot guarantee satisfaction, I CAN guarantee that this place is better than average. For a Mexican restaurant, that's typically as good a guarantee as you can get! read more

Went in for lunch. The place was nearly empty but I noted several booths of happy people. I ordered the special which was empanadas. I was stunned on how good they were. In fact if my wife was not with me I probably would have ordered a second order to go. The masa was fresh and made to order. It was light and had a bright flavor. The empanadas were slightly bland until I tried the two sauces that came with the dish. One word of caution, the red sauce has a high heat index. It is floral and earthy but use it in moderation. This was my second visit to this restaurant. I will happily eat here in the future and if I see this special again I will eat in and take out on the same day! read more

My partner & I come here quite often, as we live not too far at all. This is certainly one of our favorite spots in Crozet & the pricing is amazing as well as the Great customer service EVERY SINGLE TIME. We once left our leftover containers at the table, called them as soon as we noticed as we were driving back home, and they immediately left it up front for us. Got back to the restaurant a few mins later & they were at the door with our items, which was super kind of their team to do. If you're looking for a quick stop along the highway or just something fast & tasty, this is definitely the place! We placed our order 25 minutes before arcing to pick it up and after arriving we were asked to wait another 25 minutes for an order of chips, one taco, and a single enchilada. A 50 minute wait time is completely unacceptable for an online order that should be done within 15. It is a Wednesday afternoon and the store is empty. I am confused as to why our meal would take so long. In the amount of time we've waited, I could have driven to Al Carbon on 5th street and come back to crozet. Take out orders are not their strength. Ordered two chicken tacos, a quesadilla, and fish tacos. The chicken tacos were cold and missing chicken, the quesadillas were soggy buried under lettuce and sour cream, and the fish tacos were missing from the order (rice and guacamole was all that was in place of the fish tacos). We only live a couple of blocks away but had to drive back to the restaurant to resolve their mistakes. This entire experience was disappointing. I really like Mi Rancho, I've been going here since it opened here in crozet, however, over the last few years the portions have shrunk significantly while the prices have gone up. I understand the rise in prices with inflation but the smaller portions are dissatisfactory. I no longer feel full leaving after eating one entre as I used to. If they had even decent service it would have gotten 5 stars. We camp a lot in crozet and we discovered this spot on our last trip so this review is following our 2nd visit to eat here. Pros: The food is delicious. The salsa is the best I've gotten at a Mexican restaurant, and I've been to a lot. Margaritas were very good. Both times it was 4 adults, and 2 kids all were satisfied with the portions and taste. Cons: Really only one complaint....The service. When they brought out the chips and salsa they only brought one salsa, being a table of 6 we asked for another bowl and the guy acted like we asked him for 25 bowls. He never brought it. They advertised Happy Hour from 4-9 however they told us they don't do happy hour. Our drinks were constantly empty Just all around very bad service. When it was time to pay we had to go find someone for our bill. This was the same experience both visits. We did inform the lady who appeared to be the manager so I will give this place one more try in hopes that the service improves. read more

This link in a regional chain recently replaced another Mexican restaurant. The food had as much depth as a menu page. The salsa for the appetizer chips was tasty, but it was the same bottled stuff that you'd get at most chain Mexican restaurants. The guacamole was slightly watery with only a slight presence of cilantro and lime. Where the heck was the jalapeno? Maybe it wasn't real guacamole; the server spelled it "waca" on the check. Was our waiter Fozzy Bear? My wife and I ordered two different chicken enchiladas dinners: Suizas ( Suizas is Spanish for Swiss. What does this have to do with the entree's green sauce?) and Poblanas (mole sauce). While the salsa verde was supposed to be somewhat mild, it had barely any flavor. The mole wasn't much better. It should have be smoky and complex with layers of seasoning. It barely registered on the tongue. Only the Corona beer delivered the sabor it promised. Finally, while the plates were hot, the food was little more than lukewarm. The kitchen either doesn't know about timing (however, the place opened at least three months ago) or it's barely warming pre-made food and placing it on the hot platters. I grew up in California and dined at both holes-in-the-wall and upscale Mexican eateries there and, yes, in Mexico. Mi Rancho's faire is about as authentic and tasteful as Kim Kardashian. Save your money and time by nuking a frozen El Monterey Mexican dinner from Harris Teeter. read more

Staff not wearing gloves or masks, people packed around the bar waiting for food. After two fulls hours from point of ordering, finally got food but two entrees were missing and one was wrong. The most unprofessional and unethical establishment. Second time here and will never be back. We were seated at 6:45 and ordered by 6:50. At 7:20 we hadn't seen our meals and several new families around us had arrived, been seated, served their meals, and some done and leaving. At 7:24 I called the server over and asked about our meals. He went to the kitchen and checked on them, he came back to say it's almost out. 5 minutes later other families who arrived after us had again been served and ours hadn't arrived yet. Ours finally arrived and my wife and I noticed her chicken and steak fajitas were mainly grilled onions with hardly any chicken and steak. We called the server over and he agreed there wasn't much meat. I asked for some to be brought out to give her the appropriate amount, to which the server agreed. Literally 3 minutes later a fresh plate of chicken and steak arrived. With the time it took to get an entire new plate of chicken and steak, I believe our meal had never been placed on time at 6:50, but at 7:20 when I asked about it. A different guy brought out our new plate of chicken and steak, our server then came over and said "we will have to charge you for the extra, ok?". I said it wasn't ok and reminded them of the events leading up to this, to which they said "ok we will not charge you". We finished our meal, boxed up our leftovers and took our check for 35.96 to the register. The cashier took our check, and another server came over and spoke in Spanish to him (we did not understand), our total on the register then went up. I asked why and asked to see a copy of the receipt. He apparently had taken our original receipt for 35.96 and thrown it away. He printed a new receipt which showed an additional item for 3.99 and he said "i was told to charge you the 3.99, I'm just doing what I was told". Nobody had informed us of the change, we were told one thing, presented a check for 35.96, then at check out they changed the amount on us talking in another language without telling us and even swiped our card. Would not have informed us if we had not asked. We asked to speak to the manager who refused to listen to our story of events since our arrival at 6:45 and he was stuck on the fact he was the cook who "portions 8oz on each plate", and did not acknowledge anything other than that we asked for more chicken and steak. My wife tried to speak to the manager several times to discuss this whole thing, he ignored her and would not look at either of us. She even politely asked him when he was done voiding the amount we were charged she would like to speak to him, he responded with a "no" and never looked up at us. Once he was ready to process the correct amount we had to hold the original receipt from him, which we had to get from the trash since the cashier threw it out, so that he would listen to what we had to say. Still ignored us, did not acknowledge the terrible service, terrible customer service, and lack of ethics by attempting to charge us an amount unfamiliar to us. This is by all means against all ethical business practice and, without checking legality of it all, quite unlawful....not to mention the worst customer service experience I've ever had at a restaurant.
