The food is like any other Mexican restaurant around with an inflated price point but this is probably due to the location. The interior is festive and family friendly. Its a clean restaurant. They did not honor their 10% off ticket coupon, which was displayed on the counter by the check out register. They also charge the customer for take out containers when taking your left overs or ordering take out, seems ridiculous, thats a cost to do business, also a newer charge as they didnt always do this. Again, food and miscellaneous charges are why I leave 2 stars. Edit, upon getting home the guac was not in the bags and the kids food was wrong. I got #72 Mi Sombrero Choice Molcajete, and it was fantastic. It was delivered to my table in a basalt vessel called a molcajete, and it was amply filled with beef, chicken, shrimp and a slightly spicy tomato stew, topped with a seared white fish fillet. So we randomly drove past this place on a Saturday afternoon and needed lunch so we stopped. It is your typical Mexican style restaurant here in Columbus with festive, bright decor, great beer prices, and complimentary chips and salsa. What I was not expecting was a buffet option. I looked over the menu and then checked out the items on the buffet and it looked legit so went with it. They had all the items necessary to make your own fajitas, tacos, burritos, and taco salad bowls. I tried a little bit of everything and it was all delicious. Let me be clear, I am obsessed with Mexican cuisine! Like it's a problem. So even bad Mexican is good to me. I would say this is your typical, affordable, family run restaurant though. It's not upscale Mexican for sure. With that said, I did not ask details on the buffet before purchasing and when the check came, I was amazingly happy to see it was $7.25/person!? WHAAAA?! Our server needed some additional training because she didn't know the discounted specials, and had to redo the bill 3 times for it to be correct. Prices seemed a bit high for the quality offered. I've never seen a buffet at a Mexican restaurant. I love this! The food was amazing and prices were really great. The staff seemed happy to be there and very attentive. We found this place on a whim after shopping at the Outlets. The decor is very colorful and reminded me of any little hole in the wall that you might find in San Antonio or Houston. It looked very authentic on the inside which gave is hope since it looks unassuming from the outside. The hostess offered us menus but also invited us to check out the buffet before we ordered. The food looked legit so we decided to try it. Everything was great. We had enchiladas, chimichangas, queso, rice, beans, and just about everything else they had to offer. The best part? Mi Sombrero is Sunbury's best Mexican restaurant. Oh, and its only one. It's unique in that it has a buffet which seems to be quite popular, especially on Mondays when its discounted. Reasonable for all you can eat and drink. The buffet was very satisfying. Assorted fried food taquitos and chimis. Skip the fried goods and move on to the enchiladas and burritos that are pre made. Not your thing? Make your own hard or soft shell tacos or fajitas. Plenty of fresh toppings, tomato salsa, corn salsa, pico, even queso dip! I'd like to give it a 4, but face it. It's a buffet. I'm pretty sure their dinner menu will take it up to a 4. If they are more attentive. I had to go up to the bar for a sprite refill.
