I rely on Yelp to help me find great food in whatever area I'm working or visiting. For some strange reason I have this constant taste for Mexican. .4 miles away? Casa Hacienda it is! Instead of my usual chicken nachos, I decided to try something different. Shredded beef Taquitos Hacienda. Made with a rich mole sauce and topped with red onion and avocado slices, this was either going to be really good or a complete fail. Thankfully it was really good. Mole may not be for everyone's taste buds. You can taste the chocolate in the sauce, more so than any mole I've had before. But it all worked well...shredded beef, crispy tortilla, onion and avocado. Swimming in a generous amount of sauce. I cleaned the plate but forgot to take a pic. Whoops. They also had great chips and homemade salsa that had a slight zing to it. We recently moved and were looking for a local Mexican Restaurant. Casa Haciendq was less than a mile away. At check in, no-one acknowledged us (rough start) and pointed us to follow the host to a booth. However, our server was terrific. We explained it was our first visit, and asked if we had questions. We were not familiar with Barria, so she explained it too us and while she made sound very tempting we ordered plates we were familiar with with-Pollo Loco and some very similar. They served us tortillas with fresh Salsa and a refried bean dip ( really delicious). The food arrived promptly and was piping hot (the only way to serve a mexican meal). The food was fantastic and the server's description of Barria will have us coming back for a new experience. The decor is a little loud, but inviting. read more

Have never gone Mexican on Cinco de Mayo. Wow were they packed (to be expected). There were only 2 of us so the wait wasn't too bad. My dining partner and I aren't big eaters so we shared Chicken Fajitas. It was served with tortillas, pico de gallo, lettuce, refried beans, and Mexican rice. I had mine sans tortilla. I've been to the Casa Hacienda Grill a couple times and enjoyed it enough to return. It's decorated really cute inside and the food is really good! This time there was a plate of refried beans topped with a cabbage slaw brought out alongside the salsa to dip our tortilla chips into, which the kids and I really enjoyed. Service was great until the end when it was a little slow to get our bill, but that gave time for my slow eaters to finish up so it wasn't a big deal. I am in love with their birria pizza, I must eat it like 3x a month. They have such friendly staff and a good environment.

Upon being seated while wearing shorts there cracked vinyl seats, kept cutting my legs up, so I had to sit on paper towels to avoid the pain. As my last review of many years ago, I stated their margaritas were very weak and somewhat watered down, same on this visit. Prior to all of this, we literally set at our table for a good 10 to 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. Now to the food..... we both ordered tacos and as we pick them up, the bottoms fell out because they were so soggy from the beef not being drained, we had to eat them with a spoon, and these were hard tacos, and my chimichanga only had a very small sprinkle of cheese on it and unfortunately our server was too busy to come back and ask us how our food was. Rather disappointing as this location is located in my neighborhood and I gave it another try to see if things had changed since our last visit. On a positive note, it was my birthday weekend and they brought me fried ice cream and wished me a happy birthday. Sorry guys I really wanted this to be positive review. read more

Recently had an amazing meal here with my sister. I sensed the food was gonna be fire as soon as the chips and salsa came out and were delicious. The salsa is always the first test when visiting a Mexican place! Theirs was spicy and flavorful, not bland or watered down. My sister gets carne asada at any place we go and she said theirs was the best she's ever had, as some places tend to overcook the beef. I got the mojarra (fried whole tilapia) which was also outstanding, and they gave us huge portions of rice, beans and avocado to go along with everything. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive and the ambiance is nice as well. The only thing I really can gripe about is that they don't do online to-go ordering. Three and a half, maybe. Depends on what you order when. Excellent: salsa/ bean dips and chips; anything with their birria; chicken mole. Our friends all like their margaritas. Most chicken dishes are meh: kind of bland. Their beer selection is hit or miss, but they usually have the Mexican faves. Service is also hit or miss. Some nights it's stellar (Cinco de Mayo, of all nights, was in this category). Much of the time it's slooow. Once in a while it's "WheretheHECK is the server?" Meanwhile, everyone is very nice. The store is clean. Parking is good, though you might have to walk a whole forty steps because there are lots of popular places in this strip mall. Beware the traffic into and out of the lot - it's confusing for sooo many people, some people go a little fast (especially the Cain's traffic - c'mon, all y'all!) and the ways are busy. First visit. Wife had steak fajitas. I had the meatball soup with a side of rice and beans. Complimentary chips, salsa, beans and cabbage salad but a very small potion...refills were not free. Size of the entrees were snapped than expected. During meal, power flickered of and back in...just long enough to crash the POS system, making the wait for the check a little longer than likely normal. We've ordered delivery here a couple times, and it is always so good!! My partner could probably eat 2 planets, but when he gets the Burrito Hacienda, he can only eat about half. It is HUGE, delicious, and honestly worth the price. Reheated leftovers (in the oven) are always almost just as good. I had the Mexican Trio today, which is also so flavorful and large enough for leftovers. From the meat to the whole green onions, they are perfectly seasoned and cooked. Had a very enjoyable dinner here. Very clean and comfortable. Decor is fun and provides lots to look at. Service was excellent - friendly and attentive. Been to both their locations and both are great. Servers are attentive and food is great as well. They make fresh tortillas in-house which is rare in Columbus, where most restaurants serve you pre made ones. Fresh ones will blow your mind away and then the pre made ones won't cut it. I love their Diablo Shrimp platter and I always ask them to make it spicy. The portions are huge, I usually have left overs for the next day. Drinks are great as well. It's been a while since I had Mexican food and oh man, this place hit the spot! We got Carne Asada plate and Casa Hacienda Fajita. We were first served with complimentary chips and salsa. They also come with the beans and veggies. They only give you the first chip and salsa for free but if you want more you will have to pay. The carne asada was so flavorful and had a nice grilled smoky flavor. It was tender and well marinated. As far as the fajita, it was so good! This dish had chorizo and cheese in it too and it just brings the dish together. Food was fresh and served hot which I love. The inside of the restaurant was really cool and I love all the decorations they have. Our server was on top of it and made sure we had everything we needed. I feel like if you've been to a midrange Mexican restaurant, you've been to them all. And if you've been to them all, you've been to this one. The menu is huge with all the standard offerings and combinations. The street tacos were a little bland, I should have asked for more sauce. Yummy. Didn't feel like cooking today since I'll have to do that tomorrow for Easter. I got Mexican Pizza and added chicken. OMG, it is huge. The crust is light and flaky yet still crisp. It came with chicken, tomatoes, green onions, two types of cheese, sour cream and fresh guacamole. The guacamole is awesome, that is why I'm eating it...otherwise it would go in the trash. My man got the Chicken Enchiladas Deluxe with rice and beans. The enchiladas came in one package and the sides in their own package. Both filled their packages and both were great. The artwork the attention to detail on the tables, chairs and walls and color schemies great. The place is very clean. You do find a couple rips in the carpet but it is what it is. My only two faults would be. The menu is extremely vast so it's kind of hard to choose and the prices are a little pricey for you know what you get for me. They never give you enough rice on the plate and the chips and salsa. You get one comp and anything after that you have to pay for it. I understand but at one time they just keep it coming. Not that you can keep eating it with the portions that you get, but that's a knock. Other than that it's pretty good. Is this a place I would bring someone from out of town? Most definitely because just the artwork in the chairs and the scenery of it. Went to their food truck at the Taco Festival. Just got the elotes- they used a different name, but corn off the cob, with cheese, lime, chile powder, etc. Very good. Decent portion I guess. I ordered chorizo con huevos. The Mexican sausage,chorizo, was mixed with scrambled eggs and onions and served with refried beans and Mexican rice. Also came with corn tortilla wraps. It was a generous portion and I had leftovers for breakfast the next day! Still very delicious the next day! TACO WEEK! EXCELLENT tacos today. I'm not sure what exactly I had, the servers and front of house gal and I couldn't understand each other. I would say this place redeemed itself in my books ! I came in at 3 on a Monday after an appointment . Was immediately greeted ( I only mention this because there was only 1 FOH employee) . She did amazing ! She was doing carry out , hosting and serving . She would constantly checking on me and other guests and had several carry out orders in that time . My food came out within a few minutes and was cooked perfectly and hot! As I mentioned before I love the salsa here ! Has a little kick to it which a lot of places don't . My work team and I popped in here for lunch around 2pm on a Friday and the place was pretty empty. We stood at the front for several minutes before anyone greeted us. The waiters were kind and the food came out in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is decorated in bright and festive decor. Certainly a happy and cultural vibe. Prices are good for lunch, can't speak for dinner. I got two hard shell chicken tacos (comes with rice and refried beans) for ~$7. Everyone else seemed to be content with their food as well! If the restaurant was crowded I would be more understanding but it wasn't crowded but we found we were searching for the server more often than we should have. We ate food that we had brought in from Casa Hacienda the other night. The food was tasty, but the chicken fajita had minimal amounts of chicken and my wife's veggie taco salad. had few beans and therefore minimal protein. The food was hot. The problem was we had ordered through GrubHub. They apparently had not given GrubHub the chicken fajita. In attempting to call the restaurant it was continuously busy for 1/2 hour. Therefore it meant having to drive over. Obviously because I was having the dinner delivered that's what I wanted to avoid. The gentleman when told of the telephone issue seem to smile knowingly. He did get the meal which came out in about four minutes, so I wonder if it wasn't from the original order. For my effort they offered nothing other than, "sorry". There was no customer service effort to compensate us for the time and effort of having to drive to their restaurant because they keep their phone busy. Doubt I will return. read more

Terrible service. We had a group of nine and experienced the absolute worst service. We had to constantly request everything and still got up to request basic items such as water, napkins, utensils. Once our food arrived, the fajitas weren't sizzling hot and we had to wait for our server to bring the tortillas which she forgot to bring back the first time. Out of all the Mexican places I've been to, this one has the most extensive menu ever! I always stick with what I know, but my boyfriend likes to try new things! Everything was out super quickly and it is all so rich. Ever since discovering it, we've gone back for more. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking to try more Mexican food! read more
