Mother's Day dinner was disappointing, especially since we had an early 5 PM reservation and the restaurant was only about half full. It took nearly 15 minutes for our server to greet us, and our appetizer arrived before our drinks, for this round, only three drink orders total. Throughout the visit, we felt pressured to place our entrée order before we were ready. Once our food arrived, we noticed the enchiladas had red sauce instead of the tomatillo/green sauce we ordered. The food runner insisted the red sauce was tomatillo sauce, which was clearly incorrect. What stood out most was the lack of service continuity. We were seated by the window and noticed our server, Jacqueline, left around 6 PM simply because her shift ended. There was no introduction to another server or any handoff whatsoever. After waiting quite a while with no one checking on us, we eventually had to go to the host stand ourselves just to close out the bill. Our tab was around $200. Rather than dine and dash, we paid in full for the food and drinks, but chose not to leave gratuity based on the experience. The food itself was nicely presented and overall tasted good, but high prices comparable to Chicago do not automatically make a restaurant upscale. If you're looking to overspend on Mexican cuisine while receiving poor customer service, this may be the place for you. read more

Very pretty restaurant. Came during the holidays & the decor was fabulous. Our server was very friendly & patient. He helped us choose our appetizer. We got the guac trio. One had pineapple, one had persimmon and one was tomato/classic. So delicious. Chips were great, the salsa was very spicy. We had a pitcher of cranberry margaritas. Loved them, not too sweet or tart. My entree was fish tacos. They were deep fried & a little too done. Almost burnt tasting. I liked the slaw that came on it. Superior Mexican food! I've been all around the world, including Mexico 9 times. I can't believe the best Mexican food is in Schererville, Indiana. The ambience is upscale, as well as the menus. About the food: The 3 trio guacamole was super fresh. My hubby said the steak and shrimp fajitas were the best he has ever eaten. My salmon with coconut rice, topped with toasted coconut was absolutely to die for. The sangrias (red and white) were strong with the perfect blend of fresh fruit, Did I tell you the restaurant was giving salsa dancing lessons. We will be back and will bring others with us. This was my first time eating here and it was to celebrate a friend's birthday. I think this is a restaurant definitely worth checking out. It's nestled in a great location between northwest Indiana and Illinois border. The staff were very friendly and the general manager was a delight. I really liked how the restaurant was set up. It's a nice intimate place that is not too cramped. I liked that I could not hear another table's conversation or bumping into each other: The food is pricey because everything comes a la carte. We eat out quite often. We have been to many high end areas of Mexico. This place is really good and very interesting. The food is a Mexican taste of perhaps Puerto Vallarta or maybe Cabo. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. We really enjoyed the guacamole. The taco's were high end tasty and came with black beans and rice which were equally delicious. Drinks were a little pricey but were also very good. If you're looking for a higher end place to dine with Mexican cuisine, this is a good choice. We will be back. read more

Regardless of the crowd that was in this place last night, this is truly a hidden Gem in Schereville. This restaurant has won several recent food awards, and I see why. They're kind of torn between a white table cloth date night and family friendly hangout and eat type of place, but overall it's a beautiful and welcoming environment. Now I will say the server we had threw me off a bit. She came to our table tired, dry, and lacked any knowledge of the bar and the menu, so it was kind of like we were on our own, but the GM Casey was a savior not only to our table, but the entire restaurant. This guy was all over the place mingling with every table, and everywhere he went you would know because there would be an uproar of laughter from everyone. The guy is a natural in the hospitality industry and you can tell he is a veteran at what he does. Now let's talk food. They don't mention who this award winning Chef is, believe me I searched. I will say whoever they are they deserve every award they've received and more. I'm a lover of Mexican cuisine, and I hate when someone mentions to me about a Mexican restaurant that tries to mix with fine dining, because true Mexican food is not fine dining. It's from the soul. It's messy, and it's delicious, but the Cervantes family has proven me wrong. This food was MAGNIFICO!!! I mean it. I was blown away by the flavor combinations that were swirling around my tongue. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. This food had my emotions all over the place, and somebody behind the bar truly knows what they are doing. I ordered the red sangria but my Lady ordered the Watermelon Margarita and wow was that thing excellent. We had the guacamole trio. That pomegranate one was different and next best to the original. The Comal dish was a no brainer. Everything was so well seasoned and melted in your mouth. Now I'm an Al Pastor guy, but this was not my fave. To much pineapple for me. Still tender as heck though. This is a lovely restaurant offering moderately upscale Mexican food above your standard local Mexican fare. I'd been wanting to get out this way to try this restaurant, but it's probably a good 25-minute drive from home so it took a bit to find an available Saturday afternoon where the husband didn't object to Mexican food iIt's a fave of mine, but he is kind of over it haha). That said, he absolutely ended up loving his food! We started with an appetizer of the Fried Plantains ($10); these were good but a bit greasy. They were serving some brunch items, and he had the Chilaquiles ($12) with a green salsa that he enjoyed so much he's tried replicating it at home. I had the Taquitos Dorados w/ Potatoes ($12), which were fine. My Hibiscus Margarita was really good, and he enjoyed his Tropical Colada. We ended the meal with the Piña Colada Tres Leches ($12), which was my least favorite part of the meal. The cake was rather dry for being tres leches, and the flavor was very mild. I will say restaurant was very clean and colorful. I started off with the salsa trio. Not spicy and kind of bitter. I ordered the Golden Margarita which was good but could have been stronger. Meal was the strip steak, veggies and potatoes. Felt like it could have been more meat but wasn't disappointed either. Overall it's kinda pricey. 2 people is not worth $150. Just give me some tortillas and the right fixins and CammyD is happy. Today we drove over to Schererville IN And tried Mi' Sueno (My Dream). Dont come with Taco Bell money or you'll need to bust a few suds and wash dishes. The prices are a little high, but you truly get a bang for your buck!!! From the waitstaff to the meal we enjoyed every moment dining here. The complimentary Chips are fresh and warm , and the salsa was delicious. We decided to try their Guacamole trio taster flight and it was amazing!!! They have the Guac Goddess in that kitchen whipping up batches of Quacamole that saturate your tastebuds with loads of flavor!!!! For the first bowl of Quac, my personal Favorite, there's no holding back on just the right mixture of seasoning ¹along with Pomegranate that give you delightful bursts of flavor with every Bite. This guac is seasonal, so you may want to try it while it lasts!!!! The second flight is the Traditional Quac with Red onion and Tomatoes finely chopped, and last but not least is the Pineapple....tastyliciousness to Infiniti!!!!!! Hubbysweetcheeks says these tacos will make his top 5 list , nothing in our book will ever beat a Raymonds Taco!!! But he said there was an ample amount of steak and they were very tasty and the meat was moist. The Baha Taco is good, the Mahi Mahi fish doesn't need the batter, once i removed the coating, my taco was slamming!!!! Went here yesterday with a friend for a late lunch at about 4:30. The place was empty except for 2 other ladies. The menu was small but adequate. The prices were high. The waiter was nice but super slow. It took almost 20 minutes to get a queso appetizer and a hibiscus margarita. The queso was good, but the margarita was gross. We decided to go elsewhere for an entree. One small margarita and a tiny queso appetizer was $34. We won't be back. There was nothing upscale about this place except for their prices. read more

Finally tried this place and make sure you bring your wallet. Prices are upscale. Let's start with the good. The Pina Colada tres leches cake was the best thing we had. Definitely a must. The seasonal guac with queso and pomegranate was also very good. The shrimp tacos were spicy and good. The carnitas tacos were just ok. The rice and beans was the most plain thing ever. Same goes for the corn which I expected would be good. Highly disappointing. Needed salt but of course none on the tables. Lastly having zero non-alcoholic beers or mocktails was sad. A friend and I had my early Birthday dinner here today. I live near Chicago and my best friend lives in St John. She asked me where I wanted to go and I decided to take the little drive out by her and check out Mi Sueño. I could not be more pleased with my choice. We sat at the bar and the drinks were great..I had a Margarita which was on point and I also had the Passionate cocktail which was very tasty. My friend had a Paloma and an old fashioned and she enjoyed them both. For an app we had Queso Fundido with Chorizo which was excellent. Their chips and salsa are really good too by the way. We shared The Mixed Fajitas which were a little on the salty side but still very good. The bartender overheard us talking about my Birthday and they brought out a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a cute sparkler and sang.
