Today was my first appointment with Mia and it was such a pleasure to receive a treatment from her. She's incredibly gentle, kind, and a fountain of knowledge. The acupunture I received ended up being very different then I anticipated, the session left me feeling incredibly relaxed, I even took a couple cat naps while my Chi moved. Wow, I'm really the outlier here. But here's what I didn't like about this acupunturist: She only spends 15 minutes with you including putting in the needles. Otherwise, she's on to the next patient - 4/hour it seems. If you ring the doorbell she gives you while you're on the table, her assistant comes. You have to ask about diet suggestions and herbs. Sometimes, we have asked about them, and then the herbs aren't ready when I come out. She doesn't offer me cupping anymore, even though in the past that's been really helpful at other places. I'm thinking about not going back. I feel like she's not sure what to do with my health problems. I'm not getting better. I feel relaxed when I leave her office and always have a nice little nap on the table, but overall, my symptoms aren't improving. Other acupuncturists I went to would get me in and help me out if I had a migraine, but she doesn't offer this. It takes awhile to get ahold of her if call in. I was recommended by a friend to see Mia for stress. I had a few more personal concerns that I wanted to address with her. After speaking to Mia for about an hour, I knew I was in good hands. I have done acupuncture before, but it was never explained to me the way Mia explained it. It was a blessing to have found Mia during my pregnancy for the routine issues I went through - be it migraines or heartburn her treatments were always effective. I mostly had weekly check-ins and she would promptly remember the issues we were addressing to track progress. The clinic is very warm and the acupuncture rooms are comfortable. Mia ensures you are comfortable every time. For the treatment itself, there is an initial consult followed by the sessions based on issues being addressed. I mostly had the needling done and it wasn't painful at all - Mia is very skilled at doing it right the first time. Mia is a very talented doctor! I met her close to 2 years ago for women's health issues. She is kind, gentle, and explains everything very well.
