Perfect for first timer! I have scoliosis and therefore a tremendous amount of back pain as I've grown older it has caused my hip to freeze up and stiffen so much so that I have felt pain through my knee into my ankle and foot I have seen my doctor for my shoulder and I see my doctor the same doctor I might underline for my lower back and for my knee Never once has my MD said that these things could all be related because my scoliosis has progressed with my age but more so my muscles have started new patterns of protecting themselves. This pattern of my muscles protecting themselves I did not understand and frankly I don't care -- just get me out of this pain. I am in a constant state of lower back and hip pain for at least the last year it has become difficult to walk and to get up from a seated position I contacted Dr Megan and went to her office for the first time to see her. Prior to this I was only open to massage therapy and what my doctor prescribed to me which was a muscle relaxer that put me right to sleep so I had to take it before bed but often the sleep was so thick I would have a pill hangover the next day making it difficult to keep up with those yoga classes where else prescribed to take and go to work... So when I Went into this beautifully decorated office that felt serene but not they overly dramatic Spa - I felt like I might learn something - so I gave in to the needles and Tiny bits of pulsing electricity and I groaned out loud and Megan said nice things to me and made me feel welcome and safe - is the short of it - but here's what happened: We walked down a long call to a lovely space where she pointed out the table and different things on the table and asked if I'd like to take a seat and explain my history with acupuncture and what brought me here today. So far so good. I told her a little bit and she immediately related to all of my ailments to one place. She asked if I wouldn't mind demonstrating how I move when it hurts and she's zeroed in on the - one place - which was the place The secret place that no one knows because you could never describe to them exactly where it is - the place where you tell the massage therapist where to rub but they always are too left or right... I know Dr Megan found the exact spot because as she tapped needles into me - I started to yell. Not yelling exactly more like low and high "ouch" in a melodic tone of different tunes suck in my head...I had to make noises because I've never experienced anything like this she was tapping on one area and then I would feel some twitch in some other area It's safe to say I was an incredibly vocal patient. We then moved on to the electricity and she was incredibly sweet checking in with me for each level of sensitivity. She left me with a buzzer in my hand and I drifted off to some euphoric space. But on my way to the euphoria I was experiencing electrical shocks down my arms and legs - I could feel as though it was just about to cause me pain and then a muscle or something would let go and the whole time I was saying all sorts of words over and over again until I completely gave into peace. I am so glad that my believe system allows me to believe that no one heard me. I came out the other side of a 15 minute session with NO PAIN! When she left me to get dressed I moved slowly expecting to have to protect all the areas that hurt I was in complete and total disbelief that I wasn't in any pain. There were red circles on my back from a procedure called cupping but I don't know anything about that because I completely zoned out while she explained it - it didn't matter - this person allowed me to be completely in her hands. So when she went on to explain, I had already checked out - but I can tell you that I will do that part again too. The cupping also came with an ounce of discomfort but the Bliss I felt putting my clothes back on and walking out to the Serene waiting room was worth any momentary discomfort to me. I don't believe I've experienced a miracle but this nice person named Dr Megan just took all my pain away. So it deserves a Yelp review. If you are experiencing pain and especially if you have never tried acupuncture I would strongly encourage you to TRY Dr MEGAN. After 15 minutes I could take a full step and I rolled through my step. My lower back didn't hurt and I could even just walk with a assertion that I have not been able to do for a while. And my doctor's answer was to take the muscle relaxers and go to yoga. I'm a believer now thanks to this lovely intro to acupuncture medicine by Dr. Megan - Im so grateful to her for talking me through the whole thing and leading me out the other side feeling better than I have in months. read more

I was a bit of a sceptic when I first came to see Megan. I had had one other acupuncture experience that wasn't the best. But, I had been suffering from a toothache, neck pain and jaw pain that the dental world was blaming on my jaw. I thought otherwise, but had to do something because the pain was so bad. Dr. Berry was so thorough during the intake session and wanted to get a full picture of my health. With all of that information, she was able to come up with a treatment plan for me. Each week, she would review my history and check in on how things were going. She always made sure I was comfortable, and checked in on me during my treatment. By the end of my package, my jaw and neck pain were gone. Left with only the tooth pain, I was able to go back the to the dentist and tell them that the root cause was, in fact, my tooth (no pun intended.) Meghan provides everything one looks for in a medical professional - she is experienced, knowledgeable, and impressively attentive and empathetic. I first started going to Meghan for acupuncture in 2016 after throwing out my back. Within a couple days, I was able to walk around with minimal pain and within a few months my back was fully recovered. Prior to seeing Meghan, I had attempted to get better by simply resting my back whenever I could for several weeks, but I only started to improve the day after my first visit with Meghan. Meghan clearly and thoughtfully explains the rationale for her acupuncture plan, and she also will also sometimes treats with cupping and medicinal ointments. Over the years, I have continued to rely on Meghan to resolve a multitude of issues - a hurt wrist after falling ice skating, a dislocated bone in my foot, a pain in my hip, digestion issues, migraines, etc. While I was going through my divorce and I was emotionally distraught, Meghan also applied acupuncture for relaxation. Like others who posted reviews, this was also my first experience with acupuncture and thanks to Megan, I am now a firm believer in its effectiveness. I came to see Megan for a condition in my hand known as "trigger finger" which caused my middle finger to lock in a closed position. It was painful to "unlock" it (straighten it) and my hand in general was painful and very weak as a result of this condition. Besides wanting to have a normally functioning hand, it was especially important for me to find a cure as I'm a guitar player and hadn't been able to play for 6+ months. I first went to a "medical" doctor who told me my options were to get steroid injections or to have surgery on the hand, neither of which was appealing. So looking for a drug/surgery free option I settled on acupuncture and was fortunate enough to find Megan. Megan is an amazing and gifted healer, and her "bedside" manner as well as her knowledge of the human body will help you feel comfortable and confident that she is a true professional. She is very empathetic and gave her undivided attention when listening as I described my symptoms, both in our initial visit as well as before each additional session. 18 sessions later I can say that I am fully healed and am back playing my guitar without any pain or restriction. A few words of advice for first-time acupuncture patients: 1. Assume it's going to take more than just a few sessions to address your issue. Acupuncture is a method to help your body heal itself and sometimes this takes a little time. 2. When Megan is inserting the needles, it's important to relax your body and mind as much as possible. After a few sessions, I found that I could fully relax and I would barely, if at all, feel the needles when she inserted them. 3. Try to fall asleep on the table after she inserts the needles and takes leave of you to attend other patients. Your body heals when it's sleeping and I found my naps on the table to be very helpful to my body and mind. This was my first ever experience with acupuncture or any of the other treatments in this realm - but I was feeling a lot of stress and anxiety and thought I'd give it a try. The experience with Megan and Yinfinite was wonderful. Megan took the time to listen to my various life-stressors and tell me how certain points in the treatment would help relieve the tension I'd been feeling. For the treatment itself, she is extremely gentle and caring with the placement and sort of talks you through the whole thing so it's not scary or intimidating at all. Sidenote - I was surprised at how little you feel the acupuncture needles go in at all (I believe this is part design and part Megan's deft hands).
