This place is a clown show, plain and simple. As other reviews have noted, the lines are ridiculous, and there are maybe 1 or 2 people working behind the counter at any given time. To say they are perpetually understaffed would be an understatement. I was in Miami with a group of friends and we stopped in here for brunch on a Saturday morning. After waiting roughly 20 minutes in line, the woman behind the counter announced that there would be a "ONE HOUR WAIT" for any food dishes. I had never heard of this in my life for a mom and pop cafe. What were they making, champagne shrimp pappardelle? People were ordering egg sandwiches. If you can't make that in under an hour, let me behind the counter and I'll make it myself. Jesus. Rather than go somewhere else, we decided to just order a few pre-made empanadas, pastries and coffees and call it a day. But somehow there was a wait for that stuff too (!). What is going on at Miam Cafe?? After placing the order, we scanned the restaurant for somewhere to sit. Nothing. Nada. Every single table was taken. After waiting another 10 minutes, the five of us managed to stake out a tiny table for two; we huddled around it and waited for our "food." Eventually, someone brought us our cold empanadas and a few of our cold brew coffees. But, of course, they forgot our pastries and one of our cold brews. After flagging down 3 different people and showing them our receipt, they finally brought out our entire order. But here's the most shocking part about this whole ordeal - the food was completely and utterly mediocre! The empanadas were supermarket-quality, and the pastries weren't anything that you couldn't get at Dunkin Donuts. Which begs the question - why are so many people lining up on a Saturday morning and waiting inordinate amounts of time for totally mediocre food? It baffles me. 0/5 would not recommend. read more

Underwhelming. While looking around for a place to have breakfast/brunch with my family we spotted MIAM Cafe. The menu looked good, the restaurant has a decent environment to enjoy a meal (although the music was blasting for a breakfast cafe). But after this point, the experience went downhill. After we ordered we started having issues with the servers. When cleaning the table they spilled all the sugar on the floor next to the table and just left it there, then they brought out the wrong menu item multiple times, some items we ordered never arrived, and finally, some of the eggs we got were raw. Although the menu looks good, and some of the dishes were decent, the service and food consistency leaves a lot to be desired. My Criteria 5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price. 4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again. 1 star: This restaurant should be closed. read more

definitely a nice little brunch spot/breakfast spot. The famous fluffy pancakes are amazing. The breakfast sandwiches and the eggs are also very good. Everyone who works there is extremely nice and the service is pretty good. Stopped by for a Saturday brunch with the girls after we had seen and been craving these incredibly fluffy pancakes on Instagram. They did not disappoint. We tried the guave and cheese and lotus and dulce de leche pancakes. They were massive and delicious. A bit on the sweeter side but fun trying them as there are not many places in South Florida with fluffy pancakes. I also got the charcoal dulce de leche croissant, which is one of their many pastries, to-go. The staff members were very friendly. This is a hipster place in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami. Miam means YUM in French, FYI. I really wanted to love this place but from the beginning it was awkward. Order at the counter and pick a seat (fine by me) and they bring your food. It was 8:30 am on a Sunday and suddenly the music started BLARING like it was a South Beach club on a Saturday night. Our table literally could not hear each other, even when raising our voices loudly. At the counter ordering, I asked politely if they could turn the music down a little. Not even kidding, the girl at the register said, "sorry, what?" Why? She couldn't even hear me order. After some back and forth with the barista the music was turned down enough that she could hear my order. Got back to my table to wait on our food...music back up to a blaring decibel within 3 minutes. It's was jarring and not at all conducive to a relaxing breakfast/brunch. My wife had French toast and I had a Turkey club. Food was edible but nothing spectacular like the French translation would indicate. Our drinks never came with our food. I approached the counter and mentioned it to the man there (was a girl at the time of order) he asked my order number and looked at it, apologized and gave me our drinks. The original girl that took our order said, "I was going to bring it to you but I couldn't find you." I ordered the french toast platter, a side of applewood bacon, and a strawberry mimosa. The french toast was mid to say the least. It tasted like a piece of toast with powder sugar & whipped cream on top. The eggs were acceptable and the potatoes were also just okay. The bacon was probably the best thing I had. The mimosa was good. My sister had the pancakes tres leche and said they were super sweet. My other sister had the steak and eggs. She wasn't expecting the steak to be so small for the price. Speaking of prices, this place will definitely nickle and dime you. They were charging for things not mentioned on the menu. $1 for the strawberry used for the mimosa. It wasnt mentioned that flavors were additional. The menu mentioned a side of bacon was $2 but I was charged $3. Oh, and if u pay with card...please be prepared for a 4% fee on top of your bill. This was our first time at MIAM, it was delicious! I ordered the lomo Salgado - Filet mignon bowl. It was a nice start to the day, I loved the aioli. It was poppin on a Sunday and hard to find a table but then it slowly trickled down to a few people with a consistent amount of people coming in to order take out. In the Wynwood neighborhood there are a lot of cafés to choose from. We were looking for something healthy and light and after a quick search chose this restaurant as it was walking distance from the Wynwood Walls. The food tasted quite good although I find their menu to be uninspiring. We had the vegetarian bowl and the roasted tomato and pepper soup. I would have given this spot four stars but it was very dirty in the dining room. When we got there there were a few crumbs on all of the tables so we chose to sit in the bar in the back. When we wiped off the bar the napkin was literally black... It wasn't just a few crumbs, it hadn't been wiped in some time. Our silverware was dirty too, fortunately I had some wet wipes in my purse to wipe them off because even though they had about 10 people working behind the counter I couldn't get anyone's attention to help us out. Saw this cute place on the side of the road and wondered why it was not busy during peak brunch hours. After dining here I now see why. Staff was extremely rude. They got our drink order wrong, and were mad at us about their mistake. Then, they got our food order wrong. We let them know some items from our order were missing, and we never got them or a refund. Upon leaving, asked for the missing item to go and were able to receive it that way. The bathrooms did not have any toilet paper, and it seems to have been that way for awhile due to the comments written on the sign saying to not flush paper (they offered a paper towel roll in lieu of TP). I went to breakfast at MIAM Cafe this morning after taking a Pilates boot camp class nearby. The restaurant probably falls into the fast casual category since you order and pay for your food at the counter, get a number and it gets delivered to your table. I had an oat milk cappuccino which was perfect except a bit too small, and the stuffed avocado platter with lomo. The dish was great, except the potatoes were a bit soggy. Had they been crispy, the dish would have been perfect. My sister had the French toast platter which was very good, but she complained that her potatoes were underdone. Our friends were also happy with their food.
