My "Check Engine" light turned on, and my engine wasn't feeling/sounding "normal," as I noticed while sitting at red lights. I remembered that just the other day I'd had difficulty starting my car--a problem I had not had before. Was it safe to drive my car to the airport on this frigid cold Maryland night? I pulled over to figure out my next course of action. I thought it would be safe to at least have a car service station check out the meaning of the "Check Engine" light, since it was still before 5. I used Google Maps to find one nearby, and by complete LUCK, it seems, Maven Motors was just a few blocks away. They were so friendly and welcoming! It was just before closing, and yet they were super accommodating. Eli checked out my engine light on the spot and said it would need servicing. I told them I was doing a lot of traveling and wanted to make sure my car was safe to drive. Eli confirmed it was safe to make my trip to the airport, giving me peace of mind. I dropped my car off on Thursday morning, and they gave me a ride home, for free. They identified other issues, including a problem with a past repair from another shop that did not use the right parts! I thought the price they quoted was quite reasonable. Today they dropped my car off in front of my home and handed me my keys. How's that for customer service? They were quick to respond to my questions, whether by phone or email. I then took my car to these guys and they just tightened the pan and said it didn't even need to be replaced. They did this for free and I asked if I could get it replaced by them, they said it would be less than half the quoted price but isn't even necessary. Since we have a step deck, obviously we were not going to travel the 1400mi trip only with his bike that was paying less than $.40 a mile (no great transportation company would ever do that). Throughout the trip we loaded and offloaded in different states in order to pay our way back to MD. His bike (even though it was inop/severly damaged) was moved around our trailer a couple of times in order to rearrange the loads we kept loading. His bike was taken care like we always do with all the loads. He kept complaining of why his bike was not there when we first gave him an ETA. I kept updating him about updated ETAs but obviously ETAs kept moving because we are not on this transportation business to loose money (when our diesel alone from TX to MD is around $1,300, we have to do what we have to with making sure our trailer has a full load to travel all those miles). When we got to the del loc, SM offloaded the bike and they scratched their truck doing so. Mad at us for arriving "late" (according to him) and his truck scratched he tried to give my driver less than what we signed the contract for. This is the way this company does business. Not a good company.

Nothing fancy, just honest people trying to make a living. Got a very good deal on a low milage car, but that's not entirely what impressed me. What impressed me is the guy I dealt with, RAY, actually drove the car to MY MECHANIC to have it checked out. They found a few items that the dealor fixed no charge after the price was negotiated. My mechanic is easily 25 miles from their lot, so I would say that's service above and beyond the call of duty. They also offer finaning, which my credit union narrowly beat. A friend of mine also bought a car from them (unknown to me a the time I was looking/buying). Also had a positive experience.
