My husband was feeling ill and caught a flu he prescribed him the proper medication and had him treated within minutes wow best service ever and they even had his medicine in house and the pricing is pretty reasonable!! My husband recently went to this urgent care and handed over his Cigna insurance at check-in. The front desk insisted he was out-of-network and pushed for full payment, even though they list Cigna as in-network on their own website and his insurance card clearly says Cigna. They told him they are DEFINITELY out of network, and it's "not really Cigna"... (News to us and to Cigna, I'm sure). The whole check-in process felt geared toward getting patients to pay out of pocket, regardless of coverage. Given the urgency, he paid just to be seen. When we called later and asked for a refund since our insurance is in-network, the business decided that because our plan is administered by a TPA, they're not in-network. That's... not how insurance works. TPAs administer employer sponsored plans; they don't change network contracts and irrelevant to coverage. Either the clinic doesn't understand this (concerning), or they do and are hoping patients don't (worse). Either way, I sincerely hope someone in that office googles "TPA" and learns something new today. After several back and forth, we were told they would "hold" our money until the insurance claim is processed (and yes later on they confirmed on the phone it's in-network indeed). Sketchy AF. To top it off, a few days later, they charged our card for $200 without authorization, which they chalked up to a convenient "system error." Only after we called and complained did they reverse that second charge. We spoke to Alex in billing and David, office manager, both of whom seemed confused by basic insurance concepts and had the customer service energy of two interns on their last day. Series of billing errors, false statements, and unauthorized charges. If you scroll through the other one-star reviews on google etc, you'll see this isn't an isolated case. There seems to be a pattern of unauthorized credit card charges. If you have insurance, be prepared to push back, this clinic seems more interested in collecting cash than billing properly. Patients should not have to argue to get their insurance billed or guard against unauthorized credit card charges. Too bad, because the doctor was good. And by the way, it's been a month and my insurance still wasn't billed. read more

I returned to Miami from a 7 day cruise and searched for an Urgent Care in South Beach area. After looking at a few places, I settled in Miami Beach Urgent Care.. starting with the front desk, Usamah Hammad was friendly, professional and attentive. The check in process was quick and easy. I was seen by the Medical Technician, Jorge Leyva who promptly took my vitals and during my visit administered a couple Nebulizer treatments. He was very polished medical technician with great medical knowledge. He answered many questions and had good patient skills, listening, empathy and real concern for my well being. Lastly, I saw Dr. Joseph Ballarini who diagnosed my condition as Bronchitis and prescribed the nebulizer treatment as well as 2 prescriptions. Dr. Ballarini has over 20 years experience and is the owner operator of the Miami Beach Urgent Care. His approach to patient care is second to none. In my 69 years on Planet Earth have I ever experienced such outstanding patient care. Dr. Balerini was down to Earth, very knowledgeable and could relate to me at a patient level versus using a lot of medical terminology. His bedside manner is excellent. Left a lengthy review on yelp so will leave a shorter one here. I had terrific knee pain so was thrilled to see a Dr. I could bike to who had mostly great reviews. The walk in was easy, was seen in 10 minutes or so . The office was clean & the staff fine. Chase was particularly caring when I later spoke to him about my grievances. The Dr. was personable although would have rather not heard his political viewpoints. They scared me I find RFK a disaster Anyway, I received a correct diagnosis. Was given an injection which helped quite a bit I was given a prescription for Prednisone. Took it this morning after eating Within a half hour I started not feeling well. Over time felt very dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, so cancelled any plans to go out biking. I felt so dizzy I decided to call the office. I was afraid to continue on the medication. The staff talked to him & said I should discontinue it He then got on the phone to tell me that that was not a side effect of the steroid, and that maybe if the dizziness continues I should go to the ER as I might be having a cerebrum stroke. Are you kidding me?!?!?!!!!!? Telling this to a patient over the phone??!!! I googled it & he is COMPLETELY wrong!!!!!!!!!!!! Dizziness is a common side effect !!!!!!!!!! He didn't say he'd check in on me OR have 1 of his staff check in on me later in the day. How UNPROFESSIONAL And to tell someone over the phone that they may be having a stroke ????!!!!! Again Unprofessional Beware of thiis Dr Totally unprofessional behavior!!!!!! It was clean and professional when walking in, and unfortunately this really deceived me. My 3 year old went in to get stitches and the doctor that tended to him was horrible. Firstly, my child was still, polite, and cooperative. The doctor was incredibly frazzled and anxious and I had to keep saying things in hopes to bring comedic relief and peace. WHILE he was stitching my son, he said (word for word), "I'm definitely not as good as I used to be in my 30's..." and when he was done he said, "not my best work, but considering the circumstances..." Ummmm WHAT? I was sitting there with a knot in my stomach. I didn't know how to advocate for my son while he was actively getting stitches. When we went to a different urgent care to eventually get them removed, the doctor said, "As a mom, this stitch job would make me so upset. He should've gotten more stitches and these were horribly done". I'm left with so much regret and guilt bringing him here. I recommend this place for sure. The service impeccable. The place clean and comfortable. They are very apparent with prices and what insurances they accept. Shady billing practices. We paid out of pocket at the time of the visit, and then we learned that our insurance also paid them, so they got paid twice for the same visit. For over a year we've been asking for a refund, only to be bounced between billing and the front desk. For months, the front desk manager David S. has told us "the check is being processed/ in the mail" -- but no refund has ever arrived or issued. Completely unacceptable and should be looked into by BBB and the other agencies, because, looking at the reviews, that's their typical practice. While the doctor was very nice, personable, and knowledgeable, there was a fairly shady BILLING ISSUE. They told me I was in network when I came for urgent care, so I paid my co-pay. Two weeks later, I received a charge for $295 on my debit card. I have called to speak with the office manager twice and have received no call. I spoke with a receptionist who checked me in, and he admitted to mistakenly telling me I was in network when I wasn't. 1) I have NO IDEA how they captured my card number, and I certainly did not give them authorization to auto-charge my card for anything. I am disputing this charge as unauthorized with my bank. The receptionist sent me the paperwork I signed, and nowhere does it give consent to record or use my credit card. In fact, in my 40+ years on this planet, I have NEVER been auto-charged by any doctor anywhere. This is incredibly strange and suspect. 2) Even if I had authorized them to charge my card, which I did not, why would they charge me $300 for a visit when the walk-in cash price is only $140? I asked the receptionist this, and he had no answer. 3) If the receptionist hadn't made the mistake of telling me I was in Network, and made it transparent that I would have to pay out of pocket for the visit, I would never have stayed. I would have gone down the street to my normal urgent care. The only reason I came to this one was because they were open an hour earlier. But I would have simply waited an hour if I had known my visit would not be covered by insurance. I would rather not leave poor reviews like this, especially since Doctor B was quite nice and helpful. But no one has called me back to discuss this or help me with this issue, so I feel I'm left no choice but to resort to leaving my review publicly. This place epitomizes the notorious "Miami scam." I visited Miami Beach Urgent Care to get a tetanus shot, as I was due for one and had a risk of exposure. At the clinic, I was informed that my copay was $75, which I paid using my credit card. They verbally assured me the tetanus shot would cost only "a couple of dollars, like $30 or $40." The entire process took just a few minutes, and I left thinking everything was straightforward. Fast forward two weeks, and I discovered that Miami Beach Urgent Care fraudulently charged my credit card an additional $234.07, followed by another $512.71 a week later--both unauthorized charges. They used the credit card I had provided for the $75 copay without my consent, which is a direct violation of Florida Statute 817.61, prohibiting the unauthorized use of a payment method, as well as federal laws under the Fair Credit Billing Act (15 U.S. Code § 1666). When I attempted to resolve the issue, I called their billing department multiple times, but every single call went to voicemail, and they never returned my calls. They refuse to provide any detailed invoice or explanation of the charges, and they still haven't sent me a bill in the mail--something any legitimate medical office would do as part of standard billing practices. On top of this, my insurance company confirmed that Miami Beach Urgent Care never even attempted to bill them for the services. Instead, they took advantage of having my credit card on file and charged me for false and inflated services. It is beyond absurd to claim that a simple visit to an urgent care for a tetanus shot could ever cost $821.78. This clinic preys on patients by fraudulently using their payment information and bypassing proper insurance billing procedures. The owner is a liar, and the entire operation reeks of fraud. Their actions raise serious questions about their compliance with insurance fraud laws (Florida Statute 817.234) and credit card billing regulations. For a simple tetanus shot, they charged me a staggering $821.78 without authorization, bypassed my insurance, and refused to provide any transparency. This kind of behavior is not just unprofessional--it's outright fraudulent and predatory. This clinic is a textbook example of the worst of Miami's healthcare scams. Stay away from this place at all costs. They are so caring and warm here! Dr.B and the office were nothing short of amazing! Dr. B has over 20 years of experience in emergency medicine. I came in for a sore throat. I got on the spot Strep testing and a dose of steroids for a wheeze I didn't notice I had. I was so happy with the thorough speedy care I received, I returned with my husband and my toddler who had similar symptoms. We were diagnosed and left treated with the prescription for much needed antibiotics! I highly recommend this urgent care! They also do on the spot x-rays if needed. Definitely 1 stop urgent care.
