Highly recommended the School of continuing education and professional development . There are a lot courses offered in this campus. There programs offer great quality classrooms-in person and online courses. The staff is very helpful and professionals. There courses are also in Spanish and they offer a lot of certifications to advance in your career or to get a new one. Including courses in general business, finance, insurance, marketing, real state, investment , health care. Foreign Languages such as French German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and also healthcare careers for healthcare providers and much more like dance, ecology, fine arts, fashion, and technology . The Kendall campus is clean and it's the only campus that offers (in person) Italian courses. The facility is always kept clean but the accessibility (Elevator) is not the best. The elevators don't seemed to work at all times. Plenty of parking available in the campus. read more

i am currently i student and getty g a good of them is impossible. You would think a school, especially a college, would be organized but it's the exact opposite. I got dropped from one of my classes out of no where. I was passing went to all the classes, and was only late to one. I got NO email, nor did i get a warning from the school nor teacher that i was going to get dropped. I've been trying to get a hold of advisement for days and what happens? Im on hold for HOURS. First complaint. They are living in the stone-age with their transcript services. Most modern organizations use parchment or national student clearinghouse. They expect you to have a student account to request transcripts. What happens to alumni? Hello? Even the employee working there was like " oh wow, long time ago " This is not an issue for other modern organizations, that remain with the times like FIU, University of Alabama. Very poor communication from the Continuing Education Department. Getting ahold of them by phone is nearly impossible. You don't get information about your class or enrollment until the day before not giving you enough time to drop when you find out that what they are delivering isn't the same as the course description. The information was received the day of class and at that point it is too late to cancel your enrollment when you realize it is subpar. Everything is very disorganized and functions as if in a third world country. Don't waste your money here. read more

This Miami dade Campus is H U G E. I came for a look around and to see it deserted during these weird pandemic times. I did not see a soul and had the whole campus to myself. There is various art dotted around, a small pond with a mum duck and babies currently enjoying it. The campus looks very bland in my opinion all grey and concrete, but the simplicity of it actually grew on me whilst I was there. However maybe that was because I enjoyed the peace and quiet. if I could give them 0 stars I could. The veteran department is trash and all of them should be fired. The certifying officials for the veterans department is horrible and I bet super lazy. A veteran should not be waiting 2 months or more to be getting paid to go to school. This is my job for now and I being put in a financial hardship and they don't give a fuck. If you are that backdated stay longer. Show that you care. You only show that you only want a pay check. if you need help hire more people. Waiting 2 months is very unsat. My son is enrolled in the nursing program. Every single one of his classes is online or blended. He cannot get a class that is at the school. If he's able to get a live class he will either have to drive to Hialeah or Doral. Why is the program so scattered? How do they expect the students to learn together or study together when the classes are all over the place?????? I would not recommend the Nursing Program. My son plans on transferring to a University. He has no clue how I'll prepared he is. This is trashy public school all over again! They do not prepare the students. This location is a breath of fresh air compared to the North Campus. I do not know what that reason is but it is certainly less congested. I came here to drop off my transcripts from my university and the process was such a breeze. I'd attempted to this at the North Campus but I digress. Miami Dade College has a central location for transcript processing which happens to be at this location. I was able to walk in, present my sealed transcripts and they were accepted. They have this policy about not accepting walk-in transcripts but as you can see they make exceptions. I honestly don't think that they are real exceptions as long as they are sealed they will accept. I think they just try to force people to submit them other ways. The reason why they got 4 stars instead of 5 because of their transcript mailing process. I am not sure if someone is not properly doing their job but this has been about a month and a half process. My university does not submit transcripts electronically; only paper and by mail. My university has attempted to mail the transcripts to them 3 times but somehow they were not receiving them. I ended up having to as my university to mail it to me, which I received in a matter of 3 days. I am not sure what the problem was on MDCs end. This is my only complaint with them and then the fact that it takes 3 weeks t process. School starts in 2 sooooooo....yeah. More follow-up on my end seems like. Other than that hiccup, the school looks great. The staff that I interacted with was nice and energetic. She is actually leaving to go to my alma mater in two weeks so I could be a little biased. My son will begin college in the fall. Therefore, I have accompanied him to school in order to get his registration finalized. I am offended that they want to communicate only with my son and not with me even though I am right in front of them. I understand that they want to treat students like adults but if I am there with him, I should be addressed when I ask a question. It is inbound that if I am there with him is because I need to be there and need guidance and not because I am an over protective mom which is how some employees there make me feel. A couple of times We have encountered employees both students and adults who are rude and not helpful at all. I just hope that MDC makes an effort to make customer service for both parents & students more pleasant. They have to understand that some of us are parents of first time college students and all we want is guidance. On the other hand, we have encountered personnel that went out of their way to help us and we really appreciate it. read more

I'm a late bloomer in life..yea yea keep your jokes to yourself. I've never liked school but realizing now at my age I won't get any further in life without a degree, I decided it was time to take my ass back to school and finish what I started. Now I have a little problem with patience so I didn't go see an advisor. I looked up the prerequisites I would need and the qualifications I would need to be accepted into the nursing program. I also applied for the loan on my own and had that taken care of. I honestly think the process was pretty easy, just a little frustrating but still easy. I also did my research on the classes I wanted to take this semester and looked up the professor reviews on rate my professor. I have to say this is the first week of school and even though I only chose 3 classes I'm really happy with my professors. Now I generally like Miami Dade, I do. But what they don't tell you is if you fail a class and retake it, even if its years later they charge you double and even triple..freaking ridiculous if you ask me. But it's still cheaper taking your prerequisites here then a university. I don't like debt but sometimes you gotta do what you have to do. Now I hear about people complaining about parking but leaving your house 10 minutes before your class starts what do you expect when there's thousands of students attending. I happen to live right down the street and I still leave my house half an hour to make sure I get a decent parking space that's closer to my classes. On another note maybe parking far isn't so bad, it helps my fat ass walk farther so I burn more calories. read more

Ok I go to FIU but hate making the drive just to go to the library. MDC library is great. It's quiet and most people respect the quiet floor. Which is the second floor. They also have a quiet study room which is completely silent. Here's the con: the Internet sucks!!! You don't need a password to use the wifi but it sucks. The library is trying to make everyone use their wired in computer for Internet, but who wants to do that. Also park at your own risk if you don't have a decal. From my experience with this college it's not great people are really rude over the phone and they always end up transferring me to another number that wouldn't be the right number. they really don't know how to do there job they should be trained better. Also in person when I first went into Miami dade they would send me up and down the elevator to a different offices it was ridiculous. read more

Today I went to an appointment with the dual enrollment office. Parked near building R at around 4 pm and it wasn't so hard to find spot. This building is a very nice and impecable. The lady at the front desk of the second floor, took care of us ( and we were kind of lost ) and helped me with some admission questions I had. We needed to go then to the admission's office and the guy in a very respectfully way guide us trough out the process. Finally we went to the financial Aid's office and they answered all my questions, gave me the steps to follow and they even offered me to apply there but I didn't have some papers. To get helped for all the offices you have to sign up in a computer they have outside the office and then they will call you. Great service, thank you to all in building R!! Gosh, after not having come back in over 15 years (yes, I realize I am aging myself by saying that, though to be fair, I did take college classes while in high school), I see not much has changed. Parking seems to be a bigger issue now, but then again, I did not have a car while attending MDC (formerly known as MDCC), so maybe I was oblivious to the parking woes. Frustratingly, they don't have a lot of campus directories around school. I guess you cannot expect much from a public institution, but I do think they should be near every parking lot so people can know if they are parking close to their destination, or not. I enrolled in a belly dancing continuing education course, just to keep myself busy during the week, and in an effort to become more physically active, more confident, and agile. Unfortunately, I had never used the gym as a student so I did not know where exactly it was located, I just had a faint idea of the area. I ended up parking somewhere, after a lot of searching, and after wasting 10 minutes wandering around, I heard a splash and figured that must be where the pool and gym are found. Not a soul on campus to ask along the way, so I am glad that splash came at the right time. I realized then how far I had parked. They now require decals on cars for parking, but despite not having one, I was not towed. They may enforce this during the day time, but my class is once a week in the evening. I enjoyed my class. No homework, no tests, no pressure. It was fun, relaxed, and actually made some of my muscles hurt, like my obliques, which rarely see any action. There are people of all ages on campus, so don't worry about appearing too young or too old. My class had people of all ages too. Most were in their mid-late 20s, but a couple were 30+. They have different fitness classes and in different levels (beginner, mid-level, and advanced), and they are quite affordable. They also have summer camps and classes for kids. It's quite a schlep for me to come to class here since I live in Miami Beach. I wish they would offer such classes in a campus closer to me, but it is what it is. I just found out the campus has tennis courts, which came as a big surprise. Two years of attending college here and I never even knew. If you're going to the gym (classes beginning with "G" followed by a number) or the pool, this is where you want to park, to not have a very long walk. No, I am not lazy, but we do have constant rain in the summer, as well as mosquitoes and unbearably hot, humid days, so I am taking all of that into account. read more

I graduated from here with my Bachelor's, so I'm very proud of my college. Though honestly, I did one year in FIU and FIU is wayyyy better in terms of the "college experience" (I'm not talking about parties or drinking, I mean the campus itself and it's events and things to entertain yourself with). It's really big and the professors are amazing! The only thing that I can't STAND about MDC is the staff that work there. They are usually rude and MAJORITY OF THE TIME have no clue about anything. You ask one person something and the next person gives you another answer. You play what's called "the run around" all the time. Just have patience.... The students are great too, most are there to really get ahead in life, but like everywhere, you have your bums that go there to just "chill" so you'll have a mix here in MDC of different personalities. read more

I think Miami Dade is a great school to get your pre reqs done. It's so cheap and most of my professors have been great. People don't realize how many clubs and organizations are here at Miami Dade. Oh, advisement and financial aid-super rude. They give you false information. One department tell you to complete something, you go back with it completed, then, they ask you why you completed it. Really?? Some of the advisors don't really know what they are doing. When I went to change my major, she changed it to astronomical sciences(WHAT?!) ** This Yelp review is specifically about Miami-Dade College's spectacular new registration and students payments building. ** Long lines and throngs of sweaty people waiting at least an hour to sign up for classes--this is how you would have described Miami-Dade College's registration process last year. However, last January, the campus built a new registration building, which caters to all students and makes registration easier. The new registration building is five floors, and on the second floor is where you sign up for classes. You can either sign-in at the main desk or at one of the television kiosks found along the wall. There is several kiosks, so the line for signing in is not long at all. When you sign in, you have the option of putting in your cell phone so that they can tell you where you are in line and how long it will take you to see an advisor. It is extremely convenient! If you have to wait long, don't fret because there are a lot of cushioned comfy chairs for your leisure with outlets for charging your phone. During my visit here, I got to see an advisor after a 30 minute wait who was extremely friendly and able to give me an override. She gave me her e-mail if I had any questions and answered all my questions for me. 5 star service. To pay for the class, all I had to do was walk downstairs and pay with my credit card. Seriously, it was that easy! 5 stars for Miami-Dade College's registration process--they cater to their students, and their classes cost half the price of FIU's. Seriously, this place has done a 360. Miami Dade College is a good school to come to. Some of the professors are great but I recommend going to rate my professor. I go to see the counselors at the ACCESS program, which if you don't know what that means is for people with a disability and more who need more help than ever. But like everyone else I have had a few pretty bad counselors. The wait is horrible even if you do have a appointment. But today I went to one of the best counselor I have ever been to. I've been going to Dade for a while now but she helped me the most and gave me the answers that I needed. Whoever is in the program ask to go see Mercy. read more

Wish I could give it a negative star. The service of these Financial aid employees is the most unprofessional, disorganized and disrespectful group of individuals. Every time I have called they have transferred the call to another location or they keep me on hold listening to all the adds for the university which is fine and I don't mind but then to be automatically transferred to a survey and then being hung up on after an hour and a half. Tried to solve my financial aid situation at the Homestead campus which I was transferred to from Kendall campus. The employee was cutting me off every other sentence and was extremely rude. My mom so happens to work at a University and called out the employee on all the proper regulations to go through the FASFA process. I myself am a General Manager and work in customer service and the service I have received today would call for termination. read more

God forbid you need anything from this crap hole. I just ordered a transcript on the MDC page, and as they offer to send it with YOUR own prepaid label, I purchased a label and emailed it to them via e-mail as they instructed. That was on a Monday. Today (Thursday) I called in to get the status because they advertise that you can check the status online. Where? There is no link or even a way to get to any status. So the guy tells me that it was sent on Tuesday, to give it 5-7 business days to arrive. I told him I e-mailed a label and I asked him if they used it. He then said I could track it which I did, and it showed that it was in the pre-shipment status. When I said that to him, he said to wait until tomorrow (Friday) for the updated tracking information. I said it doesn't make sense if it was sent on Tuesday, there would be no information Wednesday, Thursday, but then Friday something would show up. He said that they had received 600-700 emails and he could not verify. What?! That was my money I paid to have something arrive in a timely manner. I am so glad I never went back after my first semester because this place is a true Sh** show. read more

FIVE STARS -sure, for a college in Miami Dade, everything clean and the staff is nice. I go to school here and it's been amazing (so far). Long lines at the Financial Aid Office but that's our problem, it would probably be nice if there were more people helping but it's somewhat fast. Nice and helpful teachers. Haven't encountered a mean or bad professor in any way but again I just started. When you're picking classes you do get a long variety of them and that is great! I do like that you have options and that you can work around your schedule. I currently attend this college and to be honest it's not that great at all. The advisors have no idea what they're doing and a lot of the times they make mistakes that screw up your whole registration.
