This Miami dade Campus is H U G E. I came for a look around and to see it deserted during these weird pandemic times. I did not see a soul and had the whole campus to myself. There is various art dotted around, a small pond with a mum duck and babies currently enjoying it. The campus looks very bland in my opinion all grey and concrete, but the simplicity of it actually grew on me whilst I was there. However maybe that was because I enjoyed the peace and quiet. The atmosphere would surely be different once open again. Here is some information about it on the web. Kendall Campus Miami Dade College's Kendall Campus, located on a 185-acre tract of trees and lakes, opened in 1967. It is home to a wide variety of academic programs and specialized institutes and offers: Bachelor's degrees Associate degrees College-credit and vocational certificate programs Continuing Education and professional development opportunities

My son will begin college in the fall. Therefore, I have accompanied him to school in order to get his registration finalized. I am offended that they want to communicate only with my son and not with me even though I am right in front of them. I understand that they want to treat students like adults but if I am there with him, I should be addressed when I ask a question. It is inbound that if I am there with him is because I need to be there and need guidance and not because I am an over protective mom which is how some employees there make me feel. A couple of times We have encountered employees both students and adults who are rude and not helpful at all. I just hope that MDC makes an effort to make customer service for both parents & students more pleasant. They have to understand that some of us are parents of first time college students and all we want is guidance. On the other hand, we have encountered personnel that went out of their way to help us and we really appreciate it.

I'm a late bloomer in life..yea yea keep your jokes to yourself. I've never liked school but realizing now at my age I won't get any further in life without a degree, I decided it was time to take my ass back to school and finish what I started. Now I have a little problem with patience so I didn't go see an advisor. I looked up the prerequisites I would need and the qualifications I would need to be accepted into the nursing program. I also applied for the loan on my own and had that taken care of. I honestly think the process was pretty easy, just a little frustrating but still easy. I also did my research on the classes I wanted to take this semester and looked up the professor reviews on rate my professor. I have to say this is the first week of school and even though I only chose 3 classes I'm really happy with my professors. Now I generally like Miami Dade, I do. But what they don't tell you is if you fail a class and retake it, even if its years later they charge you double and even triple..freaking ridiculous if you ask me. But it's still cheaper taking your prerequisites here then a university. I don't like debt but sometimes you gotta do what you have to do. Now I hear about people complaining about parking but leaving your house 10 minutes before your class starts what do you expect when there's thousands of students attending. I happen to live right down the street and I still leave my house half an hour to make sure I get a decent parking space that's closer to my classes. On another note maybe parking far isn't so bad, it helps my fat ass walk farther so I burn more calories.

It's a great price for what you get. The Kendall campus is big enough to feel like a small university. Nice grounds and landscaping. Very clean for a public school.

MDC Kendall has been my school since the beginning. You can definitely find gem professors is here. Try to sign up for classes early so that you get good professors. Almost all the students from kendall come here. The cafeteria needs more variety of food but I don't really eat there so I don't care. The admin has always helped me and in the begging is hard to learn your way but once you do you know school like the palm of your hand.

Good day on the second floor of the library!!!

Ok I go to FIU but hate making the drive just to go to the library. MDC library is great. It's quiet and most people respect the quiet floor. Which is the second floor. They also have a quiet study room which is completely silent. Here's the con: the Internet sucks!!! You don't need a password to use the wifi but it sucks. The library is trying to make everyone use their wired in computer for Internet, but who wants to do that. Also park at your own risk if you don't have a decal. I don't but I haven't had any trouble.

When I finally met her in person, it was just for a split second but then we did a walk to class and she was mentioning about how she does a time management appointment as soon as she said that I went ahead and I booked the appointment with her and come to find out. Yes, she does help you with time management, but she's also your person. I talk to her about why I chose West Coast and how it's so student centric And what it means for me to become a nurse one day and she said she kind of saw herself in me with everything that has happened in my life and anytime that I need Diana for something I email her she responds to me very quick she's very fast she's an awesome advisor From the little time that i have known her I can tell that she does care for the students and the department and I could tell that she really does care for me and I even told her you know please hold my hand to help me with this entire process because I know it's going to get harder from here. if anyone wants to join West Coast University please do it is very student centric and they do care about you especially my advisor Diana honestly I know that if one day I have a meltdown I can go straight to her and she will calm me down. I love West Coast and the faculty and staff and I appreciate Diana Martinez very much because whenever I need her for anything, she's always there. So if you're hesitant on joining West Coast University, please read this and don't be hesitant anymore because it is a great school. The campus beautifully integrates lush greenery, open water views, and shaded walkways, creating an environment that feels both energizing and peaceful at the same time. What makes the experience especially unique is the architectural diversity. The blend of Art Deco influences, Brutalist structures, and modern design elements creates a refreshing visual rhythm throughout the campus. Each building feels intentionally placed, elegantly portrayed, and connected to its surroundings, allowing nature to become part of the design rather than simply a backdrop. A highlight of the visit is the Lowe Art Museum, which encompasses a thoughtfully curated selection of both modern and historical works. The collection feels balanced and accessible, allowing visitors to move naturally between different artistic periods and styles while maintaining a cohesive narrative. The best way to experience the University of Miami and the Lowe Art Museum is by walking the grounds on a fresh Miami day. After the land boom bust the college struggled but it experienced significant growth after WWII. Their football program boosted them to national prominence leading to academic expansion. and they celebrated their 100 year anniversary last year.
