During my vehicle purchase, the sales representative, Nelson Pineda Rodriguez, in direct collusion with a third-party entity called Legend Services, ran an insurance scam under my name. ​I was illegally charged an unauthorized fee of $350.00 USD under the false pretense of a "down payment" for an auto insurance quote. Here are the facts: ​Document Forgery: They generated an insurance quote and stamped a signature in my name without my authorization, knowledge, or legal consent. This is blatant identity theft and forgery. ​Stolen Funds: My actual auto insurance provider later confirmed that they never received a single penny of this $350.00 payment. The money collected at Toyota of North Miami was completely pocketed and unaccounted for, forcing me to pay my full premium separately to my real insurer. ​Unlicensed Activity: To make matters worse, I discovered that the individual operating on behalf of Legend Services at the dealership does not even hold a valid, active insurance agent license in the State of Florida. ​Operating an insurance brokerage without a license, forging customer signatures, and taking money under false pretenses are serious criminal offenses. A formal Demand Letter has already been sent to management, and complaints are being filed directly with the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS), the Office of the Florida Attorney General, and local law enforcement. ​Do not trust this dealership. On day one, the window fell into the door, demonstrating a lack of proper inspection. I also discovered an active roach infestation inside the vehicle, which was not disclosed prior to purchase. They said they did a deep clean when the car was only sprayed with raid that was left in my car when you open the car that's all you smelt they didn't clean it or vent it out. When I attempted to document the infestation the day they told me to pick up the car I saw them taking a roach out before I walked up to the car so I tried to record them, I was told that if I pursued legal action, the dealership would claim I caused the damage myself saying "Ima say you put them there this is a civil matter not a criminal matter" - dealer which is just disgusting behavior. During this interaction, a the dealer became physically confrontational, causing me to feel unsafe he repeatedly kept coming into my face and threatened me. As a result, a police report was filed and I called a friend to come back and make sure I was safe. He retreated once I had a male presence and the police came. The police tried to bargain with them but the dealer said if I don't take the car it wouldn't be on my credit but I wouldn't get my vehicle I used as a down payment or my deposit back smh shady business and threatened that if I didn't pay they would repo the car. As a woman, the situation was intimidating and distressing. I was also subjected to dismissive assumptions about my ability to communicate in Spanish , which further contribute to the fact they are racist as heck! If you're black don't buy here. Due to the undisclosed infestation, immediate mechanical failure, safety concerns for the car, and lack of accountability, I am pursuing resolution through small claims court. This review is posted as a consumer warning. They also hiked up the price from what I saw on Car Guru by $2,000 more and lied to me about the final price.
