starter of with a transmission box issue, went in and didn't even fix it the first time, stated I needed something else fixed, went back two weeks later after being told, "the noise will go away after it "breaks in" and didn't. Got "fixed" again less than a month later same issue returned. Went to go get the box looked at again and unfortunately had hit a small parking block that hit the transmission box and exhaust thread a day prior. Was told it would be fixed and rethread only to look under my car and all I saw was a metal plate udner the exhaust with no new threading a runner piece in a old screw and every time I go over a small bump my exhaust smacks and is slowly bending down from where the exhaust is being held up. read more

Giovanny and his team are to commended for their efforts with my old car. I have an aging Porsche boxster S, and has had a number of issues. Unfortunately, time has come to do a few major changes. It was not cheap. It was a serious dent in the wallet. That said, Giovanny explained to me the needs of every part of work. He also worked with me on getting some parts in that were cheaper. We fixed parts relevant to the A/C, and to some incomplete work from previous staff. So far, the car has been running great. Ultimately, if I have to pay a lot to get something done, it needs to be done very well. And Giovanny and his team delivered. This repair shop did not fix my sunroof correctly, for which I paid twice. Additionally, they sanded my car, installed rims I did not request, and painted my calipers without my consent. Did I mention they sanded my Mercedes? I'm currently negotiating with them to resolve this issue, which may escalate into a civil lawsuit. Beware that we are not mechanics and can only make this review with the information we are given! With that being said, we are a rental car agency for Jaguars and we brought a 2018 Jaguar E-Pace to German Vehicle Services when the a/c stopped working in the vehicle. When the issue began, we took the vehicle to our collision center (we did not have a mechanic at the time as our other vehicles are under warranty). The collision center diagnosed the vehicle and stated that they could change the a/c compressor with used parts for $1200 but encouraged us to find an a/c specialist to be 100% sure that the job was done correctly. We found German Car Services and brought the vehicle in for the service. When we arrived there was already a person losing their mind in the lobby screaming that the owner was a thief and that they already paid over $4000 for their vehicle and were being asked for another $3500 to finish the work. When they wrote up our paperwork to sign for the diagnosis, I realized that the numbers at the top of the page were showing a normal diagnosis fee, but as I signed I happened to see $1500 a the bottom of the page and when I asked what that was, they told me it was the full price for the diagnosis. This made no sense to me since the collision center was going to complete the work and diagnosis for $1,200. I asked to take my vehicle back and cancel the transaction, but the manager came out and told me not to worry. He said he wanted our business since we have an entire fleet of Jaguars and asked me to allow him to do the diagnosis. Later that day he called me back to let me know that it was the compressor and condenser that needed changed for a total price of over $5,200. I asked for my vehicle back and was charged $512 for the diagnosis. I immediately took the vehicle back to the collision center and they replaced both the condenser and compressor for $1,800 total with parts/labor/diagnosis. The a/c now works perfectly fine! As a small business I do not like to give anyone a bad review and that is why I waited months to make this review after putting a claim with RepairPal (the referral service that got me to German Vehicle Services) so that I could investigate to make sure I was being fair. First thing to note, my collision center did purchase used parts and German Vehicle Services was pricing with new parts. However, we still have a significant gap in the price and so this is the information I received from RepairPal. The cost for my vehicle for a/c compressor replacement should cost from $1,612 to $2,038 and the cost of the a/c condenser should cost from $1651 to $1851. That means that, using the highest numbers (which was not my expectation as the manager was looking to build a business relationship with our rental agency) the HIGHEST cost should have been $3889. That means that there was unquestionably a $1311 overcharge from the highest possible premium that could be charged. And here is the point that is most important to understand when using those numbers. $2038 and $1851 are the costs INDIVIDUALLY for these services. In other words, it would cost that much to do each item individually, but combined, there is something called "overlap" that makes each additional service cheaper. This is because they are not removing the bumper, changing the a/c compressor, putting the bumper back on, removing the bumper again, changing the a/c condenser, and putting the bumper back on. This now means that the overpricing was WELL over $1311. And in the end, even though we didn't do the work with them, the shop was still able to scam us out of $512 for the diagnosis. read more

I understand that a lot of people have had a positive experience at GVS but personally I will NOT be bringing my vehicle here again. My Q7 needed a new fuel pump which they quoted me $3700. Once I questioned it I got it reduced to $2900 only after I sent the invoice to the Audi dealership to review and they mentioned the parts were overpriced. Do yourself a favor and always ask for an actual invoice because when I questioned the cost for a fuel pump after getting the price from the dealership Edwin/Luis told me "It doesnt matter what we paid for it, you will pay the MSRP". ALso the front end grill was damaged and they blamed it on the tow company, little did they know that I actually was there when my vehicle was dropped off and took pictures. I will be registering a complaint with BBB and the Florida AG office. I wouldn't call them crooks but they are crook adjacent. read more

I brought my car for maintenance, and the service was very bad and they treated me in a hostile manner, and the prices are very high.

I brought my car in there and told them exactly what my issue was. The valvetronic on my BMW M6. They said no it's just a sensor and they would hook up the car to BMW with their magic tool and reset the sensor. Of course that didn't work, because it was the valvetronic needing to be replaced. They then told me that it wasn't the valvetronic, it was the wires. They needed to order the wires from Germany and it would take some time. I said ok. Over a week passed and they said you know what, We found the problem. It's the valvetronic and it needs to be replaced. Our price for removing covers and diagnosing the problem is $1500. If you want to fix it, it's $8000. I said no but I paid the "Diagnostic fee" and got the car back after 10 minutes of "Putting back the covers" on the engine. Mind you I had a $40 Diagnostic tool from Amazon that told me it was the valvetronic in the first place. It was a huge waste of time and a straight RIP OFF. I took my car to Davie Motorsport and they fixed it with no issues, and gave me the valvetronic they replaced in my hand, and showed me why it wasn't working. Simple as that. I'd have done a chargeback on my card but it's too late so I chalked it up as a lesson learned. read more

So I typically only give reviews if the service was really bad or really good. This time around the service felt odd and almost felt very deceiving. So here's my review I own a 2009 VW and my A/C compressor gave out on me. I have a couple mechanic's as friends and I usually go to the same mechanic for any jobs I either don't feel like doing myself or don't have the tools for. I'm usually a JDM type guy but this car was a gift and I'm not too comfortable working on German cars so I figured why not let these guys take a look at it and give me a quote. They had my car for 2 hours then called and told me that the entire job would cost me $2706.32. Let's be honest here, that's more than what the car is actually worth. So I asked if I could buy my own parts and they just do the labor (of course I wouldn't expect any warranties since they can't really trust if I got good parts or not). Immediately they told me NO and said they would only fix the car with their parts. After towing my car back home (the guy in the office said I couldn't drive the car anymore or else it would get worse but I thought how much worse can hot air get?) I then did some asking around and got quotes from 2 other shops. I ended buying the a/c compressor and all the parts for $445 (they were charging me $299 for the condenser and $870 for the compressor). Mind you none of the parts were used. All brand new certified VW. Went to a shop that I always use and they quoted me $600 for the work. I spent about $1045 in total.(they wanted me to pay $2706.32) It's been a whole year since I got this quote and my car is still running smooth with cold air. Morale of the story: get quotes from MULTIPLE shops before you decide. IDK about this place and I understand good work and quality work cost money but at the same time where do you draw the line? This company is a ripoff. Take a video of your car inside and out because they will test your parts on another customers car, loose your parts and then charge you for them. PLEASE READ I have been using this company for years and have been satisfied. Recently I got my Audi TT repaired at the dealers and then by GVS. I noticed that they wanted to repair things that the dealer had repaired not even a month earlier. All along I firmly believed that they were upfront and honest, this was not the case. I had my oil changed prior to going to GVS and they drained and replaced the oil and filters that was not authorized. I had to get my coolant reservoir replaced because of a leak. The mechanic did not replace the cover for the engine and manifold and lost my oil cap. I went back they put on a cover and an oil cap that I mentioned was not the right cap. OK, an oil cap is a oil cap, I think. All of a sudden I had an oil leak and my manifold butter fly was damaged and had to be replaced. This probably came from when they botched the reservoir job. During that time I was charged for gaskets and was told I needed tires. I got my tires from Tire Kingdom. Not driving my car much, per odometer, my engine check light comes on and I get my oil changed again and was informed of oil leak. The light was still on so I took my car back to GVS. They informed me of the butterfly problem and the oil leak and this is what I authorized. The oil leak possibly came from when they replaced the reservoir. At that time they replaced gaskets and the oil cap that they LOST and an air filter that was just replaced the day before I returned to the shop. There is more but you get where I am going. Remember the dealer ran diagnostics not even three weeks before going to GVS. They are a RIP OFF and try to take advantage of people they think are not knowledgeable. I took my 2011 Mercedes Sprinter because they were "specialists". They did work and work was done properly. I needed new "remote keys" and they said they would furnish...(like $1800 for 6 remotes. NONE OF THEM EVER WORKED!! I took it back for other work and they always said they were going to rectify the problem. I couldn't be more pleased in the quality of work done at GVS in Hollywood, FL. We called ahead and scheduled a transmission service for our 2008 Sprinter 3500. They were so good to us that we scheduled more work on our front end a few days later after we went to the keys. Luis runs a fine shop with good quality employees. I have an older 2010 Audi with two owners and only 75,000. There have been several recalls on the car and the dealership has done lots of work on the engine since my ownership. In the end of May I took my car into the dealership for its annual maintenance. The car also had to have the timing chain replaced due to the recalls. Dealership recommended changing the lower control arms on both sides and new brakes. I declined to have them fixed at that moment due to not driving much because of the pandemic and I use one of the other cars. When it was time to go back to work, I had to start driving and can hear the control arm creaking when going over bumps. I took it to German Vehicle Service at the end of October since they were close to my job and convenient. Hours after dropping it off, I got a recommended report of what the car needed. Many of the items didn't make sense for example it recommended an oil change which was just done in the annual maintenance. When I called, I was told the car was misfiring which again didn't make sense since it just received its annual maintenance plus had new engine work on it. Also, they told me the engine mounts were leaking and needed to be changed, but my Audi report from May check them off. I was told the car was done and I let them know I was on the way to pick it up. When I arrived, it was still on the lift and had to wait over an hour. I was told they trying to fix the noise. They didn't want me to take it off the lot since it was dangerous too drive according to them. I refused and wanted my vehicle. When I got it off the lot it original noise (control arms) was gone, but now there was a new horrible noise when I let off the gas. I called immediately and was first told, that they fixed only what I told them and that they didn't drive it to know if that noise was there in the first place. So how can my car be diagnosed with all these problems if they never drove it in the first place? He continued to explain the engine was tilting because of the engine mounts and that if I brought the car back, they would figure it out and fix it. He went on to talk about how there was so many things wrong with the car and continued to make excuses. I declined to take it back to them and first thing the next morning I went back to the dealership. Dealership immediately found the problem. There was a part that was bent wrong and fixed it at no charge. They checked the engine mounts and again stated they were not leaking and wasn't the problem. They did confirm that later they could be changed but it was not the problem. To top it off they left a huge deep scratch in my front bumper and scuffed up the back. Bottom line spend the extra money and take it back to the dealership. read more

I am from out of state and bought a car in Florida. I was in need of a place to do a pre-purchase inspection on a Porsche. I called around and they were one of the few able to do this for a classic Porsche. The body shop guy said he had rebuilt three of his own and so I figured they would be perfect for the job. The initial inspection seemed to go well. They said mechanically it only needed brakes and there were no engine leaks and it needed some hood struts and rear struts. They also said the wide body conversion needed cleaning up since it was old and the bottom corner panels weren't fully welded right. They quoted me $2200 to fix the wide body work. The seller agreed to a credit for this and so we went ahead and had the work done and paid that much less for the car. THE REALLY BAD... When we received the car we were very disappointed. The car needed a starter (first time I turned it over I figured this out so I am not sure how they missed something so simple). The brake lights didn't work. The alarm didn't work and beeped constantly. The left turn signal didn't work. The trunk was seated incorrectly after they painted it so it closed incorrectly. The doors were either hung wrong by this body shop or they looked like this during the inspection and they didn't mention it. One door was actually sticking out at least 1/4" more than the rest of the body! The rear bushings were shot ($2k fix) and when I called them and mentioned just this one thing they missed they claimed it was a $250 job. It takes about 10 hours to replace the bushings in this car. The muffler was touching the frame of the car and damaging it. How in the world can they even claim to have provided me with a pre-purchase inspection? The work they did was subpar. My body shop looked at it here and they did some crappy welding on the car. The paint had little pinholes and defects in it everywhere. I was really pissed when I got this car. This place cost me probably $5000 by their bad body work and missing issues. When I called them back they obviously didn't care they missed anything. TO THE OWNERS IF YOU'RE GOING TO OFFER PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS AND ACTUALLY INSPECT THE CAR! They sent me the estimate after the inspection and failed to tell me they were not sending me a second estimate for mechanical work. This only came up AFTER I called to complain to say all they said it needed mechanically was brakes and a distributor cap and wires. Then all the sudden they come up with an estimate dated that day I called and it was for bushings and all sorts of shit no one told me about before. We are traveling in a RV & came here because this place is listed as a sprinter van specialist. The steering wheel would shake badly when driving. I really thought we had knocked it out of alignment going over rather large speed bumps. Turns out the tires have dry-rot from sitting in storage with the original owner. We had had the tires checked before we left on this trip and were told the tires were in good shape. So glad we decided to stop and make an appointment to have the RV checked. We also had the 3rd brake light bulb replaced, the steering wheel emergency flasher component replaced and they cleaned the corrosion and replaced a bulb for one of the front fog lights. It appears that their rate is approximately $110 an hour labor plus parts. Owned and operated by a father who has some of his adult children also working within the business, all very sweet. The daughters and son in law keep the front office churning as customers come and go as their vehicles are completed. Yes, this is expensive place but it is primarily a German auto mechanics. I'm guessing people that own Mercedes are used to paying top dollar...I am not. :-). Having said that, I am glad that we stopped to have the vehicle worked on here as I feel good that the vehicle was properly diagnosed and we won't have a blowout, with the possibility of in incurring possible serious injuries. I am, as I type this, still here. Once everything is finished... I will add any new information/thoughts/comments and update the rating stars. I'm giving 4 stars now, only because of the $110 per hour labor rate. I'm used to around $65 to $85 per hour, as a level set. read more

Don't waste your time with other repair shops who always try to upcharge you, I was in the market for a new control arm as I had damaged mine pretty severely and needed the car fixed ASAP but when I went to a shop down the street, not even two blocks, they told me it would be $870 and I would have to wait a whole day to get the car returned to me. But I decided I would take my luck and try another shop. When I walked into GVS they treated me like family and were happy to get the job done that same day and also only charging me $300 for the complete service. Luis the owner is an unscrupulous business man. During this time of COVID-19 they took advantage of me. I brought my vehicle in two weeks before because of trembling of the car when changing gears. Luis said it would be $140 to inspect the car but the cost of the inspection would go towards the repair. I brought the car back to him two days ago because the situation had gotten worse. I asked Luis to please diagnose the vehicle. In less than hour Luis stated that the direct ignition coils needed to be replaced, leave the car and he would call me with an estimate. Three hours later I get a call from Luis telling me I needed my spark plugs replaced and my R&I Intake Manifold Gasket replaced with a quote of $1,700. I did my research and found the average cost for a Mercedes-Benz intake manifold gasket is between $832 to $1057. Luis stated this would resolve my problem with the engine and the trembling of the car when changing gears. I agreed to the repair. I asked Luis to retain the parts. I brought a family friend who is a general mechanic with me to pick up the car. When I came Luis told me he did not have the part form the Intake Manifold Gasket because he did not have to replace it. I asked for a reduction in the price. Luis refused and said that system automatically lists on the estimate Spark Plugs - Remove and Replace R&I Intake Manifold with a labor rate of $546 and Parts $66.42. His explanation of the charge did not make sense. Respectfully, I paid. Within 5 minutes of leaving the shop and driving the car, the same issue with the trembling of the car when changing gears was still there. I returned immediately and asked Luis to go with me for a test drive. He did and experienced the problem. He ran a computer diagnostic on the car and said the system said it was fine. I told him did your team physically look at the transmission. Some issues are not detected my computer system. After 90 minutes of going back and forth, Luis says, I need my engine mount and transmission mount replaced in one quote for $1,637 and then another quote stating I needed transmission assembly replaced with a different quote of $2,345. In total to get my car working I needed to spend an additional $4,000. I asked why was the full diagnosis given to me when he told me I needed just the R&I Intake Manifold gasket replaced. I explained I trusted his professional opinion to diagnosis my car. I basically paid $1900 for a tune up and an oil change. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO GERMAN VEHICLE SERVICE. I spent my last during this time of COVID 19 and they did not care. read more

This guy will HUSTLE YOU BIG TIME! I came in to see if they can replace the radio knob on my Mercedes and Luis said " I don't like to do that kind of work". but yet he has a "master wrench award" which really means if you take your car here, he will take the wrench and cause more and more problems for your car. So after I insisted, it took about 3 weeks for this guy just to get started on the estimate. After my visit, my entire serpentine belt fell off, the knob that controls my a/c was all scratched and loose and broken like they tampered with it so his business can bring more money. He even brags right in front of your face, he will say to another customer while your there waiting, "i can make an easy $400 with just one customer" so imagine all the other people he attempts to hustle money out of your pocket ! They were noises coming from the serpentine belt and I asked him is it ok to drive? (I know friends as mechanics i just wanted to see if this guy will lie to my face and indeed he did). So, he said go right ahead and drive the car with the noise its not a big problem "its just a noise". The very next day, I was left stuck on the side of the road because my serpentine belt completely ripped off the car after my visit here. RUN AWAY FROM THIS SHOP UNLESS YOU LIKE GIVING MONEY AWAY TO THESE PEOPLE! He will legally steal your money too.
