I called Miami Mold on a Saturday. I had received a call Saturday afternoon from a tenant saying that they thought they had a mold issue. Miami Mold was extremely helpful, professional and really made me feel comfortable with something that I had no experience or knowledge about. Daniela what is who took my car that Saturday and she was delightful. Basically guided me through the whole process and set up an appointment for two days later on Monday. I receive text messages to confirm my appointment the day before, and in the morning plus gentleman called me before he was on his way. ***Not to mention, they had a special, so I got a deal on the inspection! Feel free to ask if they have any sort of ongoing special.*** The gentleman showed up on Monday on time did his inspection and once you either pay the inspection fee or leave a deposit for the actual work, they send you a very detailed itemized inspection report with photos. This company is not playing around. I went ahead and did the job with Miami Mold because I was very impressed with how professional and timely they were. I didn't want my tenant to be left out of her home for too long so I needed to act quickly and they did just that! Andres my service technician was patient and simply outstanding. I was charged $350 for an "inspection" which I agreed to since I had visible mold. I thought they would suggest treating inside the walls but the guy insisted on "cleaning the AC" despite the fact that they are not AC technicians and simply cleaning the surface. I tried to ask what exactly they proposed other than wiping down exterior surfaces and I really couldn't get an answer. they wanted $1250 for this. When I stopped laughing I finally just hung up and told them to forget it. I will get the place deep cleaning for $125 and have the AC professionally removed and cleaned for $175 and repainted for $250. Of course the "inspection fee" is non refundable so I basically spent $350 for zero value in return. read more

*UPDATE* I finally received a response from someone at the company... this was a while back now but I'm pretty sure that guy commenting is the same one with the rough "man in charge" attitude. His rebuttal states that my cousin who came out to debunk his assessment said he saw mold as well which is COMPLETELY FALSE. My cousin simply told me that my AC was super dirty and needed to be cleaned, that it should be done yearly and via the label the last HVAC tech left, it hadn't been done since 2012-- that is NOT the same as finding mold (and mushrooms!!) in my AC and wall. I also mentioned that my cousin tested the air quality and walls for moisture-- both of which came back fine. ...and the obnoxious stickers are all fine and dandy if you actually did the work! He even states in his reply that new homeowners often see these stickers and reach out to him. I'm sure he falsely implies he serviced the home, when in fact he just came by with his intimidation team and provided a ridiculously high, scare tactic backed, quote. Again, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. --- After writing my review I checked out the others... a ton of solid 5 stars and a handful of 1 stars.... something is something fishy here considering all of the 1 star reviews complain about them being a total SHAM! STAY AWAY! I feel like this company spends more time and money on creating marketing merchandise then training their employees to come off as genuine human beings. They arrived in an overly branded van, 6 or so guys marching out and into my home, no pleasantries or introductions. They stormed in with equipment and masks like the scene in ET when the government arrives to investigate the little guy. The man in charge proceeded to fire instructions at the team while explaining to the "little lady of the home" a vague overview of what was going on. I felt pressured to proceed with service, that was $2800, and while I was trying to get a hold of my husband the man in charge was loudly telling his team if he doesn't have an answer in 5 mins they are packing up. They tested my ACs and a portion of my wall that had a leak a few months ago. They neglected to give me any facts, the facts being that my air tested as being perfectly safe, the moisture levels safe as well. He attempted to use scare tactics by stating my AC was covered in mold, when I couldn't visibly see anything he proclaimed that they were mushrooms growing right there and how could I not seem them??? I became concerned that I was being hustled. So I did what any smart girl would do, I called my dad. He told me that my cousin actually does mold remediation and that I should at least get his opinion before moving forward. My cousin came by later that day and said, "Man your AC is nasty! Your coil hasn't been cleaned since 2012!! With two dogs and a husband with allergies you should be cleaning it yearly." He also told me that ALL homes have SOME sort of mold, that it is not ethical for a testing company to also remediate mold issues or for them to try push service before getting any test results back. Also, the $2800 quote included cleaning the AC coils and ducts, and "treating" the wall. They weren't even going to take the drywall out the was supposedly infested. My cousin said that was a HUGE red flag to him. Not to mention they also left stickers and magnets all of my home, on the fridge and both AC units. Overall I felt like this company preys on people who may not know any better. I would not recommend them to anyone. If you do call them be clear that you aren't an idiot and don't make a move until your test results come back. Better yet, don't use them for both services-- think about it, of course they will find a ton of things wrong, they are getting paid to fix all of it! I dont general like to write bad reviews, but this company did not respond to my email complaining about their workers. The company sent about 15 guys to the job, which by the way does not adhere to the CDC rules, And none of them had the professionalism to cover and protect my tenants home or belongings. They also broke multiple outlets in the kitchen, dragging garbage bags on our carpets, using our garbage bins for their removal, clowning around, using a hammer to break the walls and spreading dust all over the apartment. Our tenant was furious and rightfully so! I had used them in the past and they did a very good job the previous time, but this time it was a nightmare! I am so incredibly pleased with the services rendered - the entire experience from start to finish was painless. I had never had a mold issue before and not only was I overwhelmed and scared out of my mind, I was clueless - I didn't know what to expect or what something like this would entail. I did my research and because of their incredible 5 star reviews, I decided to go with them and I do not regret it at all! Abraham and his crew (Alberto was GREAT!) explained the entire process from start to finish. They took the time to walk us through the equipment, what it does, what it reads, and then everything that happens afterward once the job gets started. Is it possible to give a zero rating? These people deserve it. My tenants and contractors report that they were the most unprofessional people they had ever seen, led by their wonderful crew chief "Jesus." This company broke state law by failing to provide a treatment protocol. They missed more than half the mold in my home and caused me massive inconvenience and expense by delaying my remediation as a result. The mold they did find they treated only with fumigation, after they had stated they would cut out sheet rock. When they failed to do this, they did not offer an explanation and when I called to ask for one, any person of responsibility declined to take my calls, eventually receptionist "Tiffany" relayed the brilliant response to me: "they decided not to." Gee, that tells me a lot doesn't it? And by the way any rube knows that mold must be physically removed, you don't just treat mold with fumigation. The only time they ever called me back was after I personally found more mold, then they wanted me to spend thousands of dollars more on them for their wonderful service. This company is a scam. They come to your house dressed like Ghostbusters and there is the main sales guy that lays down all their products on the counter and spends most of his time to scare you and your family about how bad is the mold. Then he tries to give you a special discount and pushing for a signature to block the super busy team (even showing his phone as proof) asap. This guy is an aggressive salesman, like the one you can find when you're looking for a new car. He doesn't know anything about molding. When he suggested me to put a lot of dehumidifiers (part of his remediation plan) I said "well we have A/C that works as a dehumidifier". He responded that A/C is not a dehumidifier. That was the Nth red flag about them. When they left I found stickers of this company on all my A/C units in the house. The salesman explained the remediation technique they're using that is basically you leave the house to them for half a day and they fog ozone to kill the mold. I've searched if fogging ozone works with mold and the EPA gov site states it doesn't work. You need way more than that. Then I looked more carefully at why they have so many good reviews on Google and other places and you can see they are all fake. For every authentic (bad) review they have fake reviews that rise up the average. Unbelievable. In my case, they found mold everywhere and they charge not by the problem found but by the square feet, that doesn't make any sense, but since all they do is fogging, I now understand. I called 2 other companies to check my place and they both found little mold in the A/C closet. That's it. Everybody in Miami that works with mold knows these guys are a scam. read more

Where you sign the contract it says that you hereby acknowledge that you agree that all work is completed and to you satisfaction before the work is done. Glossy brochures and pamphlets and instrumentation to make you think they are professionals. They are unscrupulous and deceitful never have come across such vile business organization. Had report done by an independent mold assessor 3 days after service they failed miserably at all levels. They underbid the competition to get your business and then fail to deliver. Every place in miami has mold, the questions is whether the mold you have is dangerous, or problematic. They come in pretending to do tests but its all BS, they even intentionally incorrectly do the air test so that it will provide a positive result no matter what. This is a big con to convince you that you have a massive problem when you may not have one. Get an inspector that doesnt also provide mold remediation so that there is no conflict of interest!! Untrustworthy company. I'm very dissatisfied in this company and regret ever calling them. I had four separate mold companies come evaluate my home and I should have gone with ANY of the other three over MMS. Mold started growing back in my home almost immediately after they did $4,000 remediation. After reviewing their post-remediation report, it's clear they didn't do everything they said they would do. They took all these photos and ran all these tests BEFORE they did the remediation but never did these same tests AFTER the remediation so I had a way to compare the mold amounts before and after their work. I will never recommend them to anyone I know. As you can tell by the rest of my reviews, I give generous reviews (mostly 5 and 4 stars) to almost all companies I do business with. MMS is extremely disappointing. Depending how they respond and handle the lingering mold problem that still exists $4,000 later, I will consider reporting them to the BBB. Update: They came out 2-3 times to try to fix the mold. They told us we had to replace the floors in our home to get rid of the mold from the floors. So we did that. Guess what, more than a month after replacing the floors-- EVERYTHING STILL SMELLS LIKE MOLD. Mold is still growing and it's in everything. They obviously don't know what they're doing. They've offered to come out for a fourth time now. Will they finally get it right on the fourth attempt? Stay tuned. UPDATE 2: There are so many inaccuracies to this company's response to me (see below) that it's hard to know where to begin. In fact, the exact opposite of what the company claims below is what actually happened. Contrary to the company's claim below, this company initially repeatedly said over and over they could fix the mold problem and we didn't need extra work done on the house besides the work they would do to get rid of the mold. This company assured us that the mold problem could be fixed and they could do it without us having any additional work done (fixing roof, etc). We asked for reassurance on this multiple times because other mold companies had told us to get a roof leak fixed prior to getting rid of the mold, but this company was hell bent on saying they could do the job, no problem, nothing to worry about, they'd take care of it. They claimed the issue was not the roof but was actually the air system (they were the only company out of 4 to claim this). Now, if you read his comment below, it's a different story. Makes me wonder if they were lying then or are they lying now. This company claims to guarantee their work, but now the company is pretending like they did us some favor by sending people out again after they didn't do their job right the first or second or third time. If you guarantee your work, then that's the part of the bargain--- get it right the first time or keep coming back until it's fixed. Also, the floors in our home were NOT replaced at the time of the last cleaning, as the company falsely claims below. The floors have been completely redone now, as they said we had to do, including getting rid of the boards under the carpet. Another blatant lie. Absolutely untrustworthy and now that I've read the response below, completely unprofessional and a violation of confidentiality that they should share with their clients. Other inaccuracies- no foundation cracks exist or were ever mentioned and the roof leak hasn't been there for a year yet so that's a blatant misstatement of the facts. Also, this company never sent any follow up documentation to show that the mold issue had been fixed (they show you all the fancy mold detection technology pictures before hand, but won't do if after?), even though I've asked for this documentation multiple times. I think I know why they refused to send it to me--- because they didn't actually fix anything. UPDATE 3- This company continues to be unprofessional and a scam. They've come out here 4 times now, and every time it's a new reason why the house still has mold. To recap the visits- 1) Came out here with fancy technology to scare us into using them 2) They claim to have gotten rid of the mold. 3) Mold smell still remains. I discovered they didn't clean the air duct in the closet, where the worst of the mold problem was occurring, so they came back to clean that air duct. 4) Mold smell remains, new mold is growing back. They come out and inform us that we have to remove ALL OF THE FLOORING in our closet and bedroom. So we replace all of the flooring upstairs, as they said. 5) VISIBLE MOLD RETURNS. It still smells moldy everywhere. The entire house smells. MMS comes back and now claims that the mold is in our clothes and we have to throw our clothes away. We had another company come out and explain that what MMS did is equivalent to using fairy dust. It's a new excuse every time. How can they explain the fact that the entire house smells of mold, not just our closet? I can explain it to you-- this is a sham company. read more

Florida law states that a mold remediation company cannot test for mold and then remediate the mold to avoid scams. It appears that this company uses a licensing loophole and does just that. When you hire them to do testing they send you a report that has the pictures of the meters blurred. They don't include a detailed protocol for a separate company to perform the work. Instead, your report is a lengthy quote trying to convince you to hire them to do the remediation. I finally got what I needed from the company in terms of a report because I had done my research. I had an overall great experience. I called to find out about their services on a Sunday because I was concerned that I had mold in my apartment and they came out with their team by Tuesday. The technician (salesman) they send for the initial inspection tells you that you need many things done that you really don't. He lied and said my insurance would cover remediation with no deductible (not true). He said they would fix my problem and whatever was causing it (not true). They came back multiple times to try and fix the issue and could not. They left some type of paint overspray on my counters and wood floors. They damaged my A/C units. They broke air vents.
