They were probably feeling empowered to do so just because we were a group of girls. I would not recommend this course to anyone female and under the age of 50 unless you enjoy being talked down to.

Hadn't, so the lady behind the counter quickly explained some of the rules, carts crossing fairways, fixing ball marks on greens, etc. Course conditions were very good. The only other review listed here shows from 10 years ago. Hey Yelp! You may want to consider deleting that one. 10 years?? Anyway, course conditions were very good. I guess my only complaint/concern was the actual cart paths needed some major work in spots. Other than that, really well done and conditioned course. Challenging? Yes, I'd say so. Lots of different elevations throughout. But not difficult to walk, if that's your desire. The greens were in good shape. However, very challenging. Lots of slopes to deal with. And, a couple of holes, well, the grounds keeper (or whatever they call the guy that places the cup positions, must be a spawn of the devil on a couple of holes! Holes were placed ON the slope, so if you landed your shot to the green, beyond the cup, then missed it on the putt, you easily rolled off the green. Or at least the the lip. All in all, a super nice course, well laid out, well taken care of. There is dress code, no jeans, no t shirts. No big deal on that. $40 for 18 holes, so, about average price for 18 with a cart. Tee boxes and greens are the two areas on a course that should be in the best shape in my opinion. Most of the tee boxes where burnt up or had a lot of crabgrass growing on them. We gave him our tee time, went inside, and checked in with another friendly gentleman. We were early, and they had an opening available, so they offered it to us. The starter was exactly what a starter should be. . . . He explained basic course rules, gave tips, and offered expectations/reminders about fixing ball marks, pin placement, repairing divots with sand, pace of play, etc., which I appreciate. I wish all courses were better at this. A few holes into the round, another friendly gentleman drove by and offered cold water. At the turn, yet another friendly gentleman in the snack shop made a sandwich and a burger very efficiently. A friendly marshal pointed out two wayward tee shots near the end, and I complimented him on the entire staff being so friendly. He said the Head Pro would love to hear that. We finished, went inside, and had a pleasant conversation with the Head Pro. Oh, and by the way, the course itself was fantastic! The layout was challenging, but fair. The conditions were outstanding! Even the sand bunkers were in good shape and raked, which hasn't been the case at quite a few Cincy courses. The Superintendent definitely knows what he's doing! Virtually everything about this experience was awesome! We can't wait to go back!

I think they start groups to close together tee times are to close I noticed I had run up to the group in front of me almost right away because they were slowed by a large group in front of them. they were doing a large amount of repair to the course I am not from around here and never golfed here before so don't know how the course has been taken care of in the past. but there is still a lot of room for improvement. there was some very nice people there and the price seemed reasonable $32 for kart and 18 holes or close to that. would like to go on a less busy day.

No one told me when I checked in there was a scramble event on the course. I walked in from hole #3 and asked why I was teed off in the middle of a scramble and was told the starter should have said something...which he didn't. I've played countless rounds on Cincinnati city courses and this is the first time it was a disappointment. Just tell me when I check in the situation before I go out on the course and get disappointed!

We got invited to play a couple times (full disclosure for the Middle Age Man Band, www.mamband.com) and it was a blast! The friendly folks at Fernbank make it a pleasure to play, and the food and drinks flow all night! You gotta check out the schedule for the summer and stop out and enjoy live music on the lawn!
