My one dog that I take here, they treated for heartworm ($3000) and she still has it somehow after three treatments. I take my other dogs to Banfield in Woburn and Melrose animal clinic, and both those vets charge half the price of what Borash charges. Trust me when I say, never go to this clinic. There is a reason they can get you an appointment next day any time you call (which is the only advantage of going here) - but it's because they clearly don't have alot of clientele due to their astronomical prices. Do yourself a favor and don't get absolutely raked for cash by this place.

I unfortunately had to do a little tour of veterinary clinics the past few days, as my sweet cat Babs had a bit of a medical mystery that is now *hopefully* resolved. I'll spare the details, but I ended up at PetMedic this week in the late afternoon. First, amazingly, they have 3 reserved parking spots behind the building which were all available when I arrived. There is also ample metered parking available in the neighborhood. I had called ahead, and so the receptionist greeted us by name (well, the cat's name!) and immediately took him back to see the doctor (it was an emergency situation). They brought me into an exam room to wait, and as I was having a minor meltdown, offered me a hug, brought me tissues, and offered water, tea, "whatever I needed"-- which was very sweet. The doctor (Dr. McCoy) popped in quickly, introduced herself, and double checked that it was ok to give Babs a sedative and some oxygen which was needed immediately before doing additional diagnostics. I agreed, she left, and shortly thereafter a tech came in to get some background. I had a small wait, and then got a text with a proposed plan and high and low cost estimate. As soon as the text came through Dr. McCoy came back in and walked me through it all, why it was necessary, and talked through the cost. Was it cheap? No, it was emergency vet services. (If you don't have pet insurance you are honestly either a billionaire or insane. We get 90% reimbursed!) But I think given allll the stuff they had to do, it felt pretty reasonable. I got clear discharge instructions and so much compassion from everyone I spoke with. It turned out their dx was likely not correct, but they treated his symptoms appropriately and my vet a few days later said that their dx did make sense given what he was presenting at the time. Since we had a very negative experience at Blue Pearl Charlestown last year (the closest one to our house), we are THRILLED that there is such a caring and efficient urgent care facility within a short drive and with parking. Though, respectfully, I hope I never have to see them again

They had a comfy waiting area with cute animal themed decor and coffee/water for pet parents. The receptionists were not overly welcoming, but it was a cold Massachusetts day so maybe I can understand!! I met Dr. Campbell and she was detailed and thorough in explanations and was very friendly as well. Hopefully my cat only needs to come in once a year but I think she will be in good hands!

People's (and animal's) lives are affected by bad reviews. The address given as Dr. Binder's referenced by Jessica H. is for Central Animal Hospital in Stoneham. Dr. Binder worked as vet there until 2013. She was my vet while she was at Central and she was fabulous! She's smart, kind and a fabulous. As far as I know she didn't manage didn't manage the hospital staff. Dr. Binder is no longer associated with Central Animal Hospital. She left in 2013 to open her own - Cushing Square Vet in Belmont, MA. The hospital and Dr. Binder get consistently good reviews. If she weren't so far from where I live I'd be going back to her. Interestingly, I left Central hospital because of exactly the same issue the reviewer mentioned. The front desk was not helpful - ever. I left before 2010 so I can't address the staff then but although it was wrenching to leave Dr. Binder, the rest of the staff was simply intolerable at the time and I left after three years. Although people should be careful to get their facts straight before writing a review - no matter how upset they are, Yelp should have done its diligence (over the past 5 years!) and taken the listing and review down. It's easy to see that the address belongs to Central Animal Hospital or that there was no such animal hospital in Stoneham as the reviewer listed. Surely the large Yelp database should have flagged it.

The woman on the phone acted as if I was wasting her time and seemed very annoyed with the question. She made me hold to answer another call and kept asking me "Is he a patient here? So he's not a patient here??" more than once during the very short phone call, as if she would not even answer my question unless I was willing to pay them for a visit. I ask for a contract I asked about refunds all being assured I'd be reimbursed this deposit if I did notify soon enough. Now I'm being told o am only going to receive half of the deposit refunded and the other placed for services. I do not require service not will I. So please me very cautious when giving out deposits to this kennel. They do not follow what they tell you. And I was not warn of the non refundable deposit. Get it in writing. They have tendency to leave the truth behind and not be honest on this platform where I am full disclosure warning who does a non refundable deposit 14 weeks out on a government hearing. Only a desperate business, even cruises and restaurants allow a reasonable cancellation. But in desperate times people and business will do desperate things No one.
