The surgery for my cat went well, although we got a cone for her but she didn't like it so we had to go back and get that blue thing you can see on her in the photo. Last Monday I brought Lilly my 1.5yr old female Doberman in to Concord Animal Hospital fo begging r Dr.Aubert to remove a large mass that was on her side. The mass was larger than expected but Dr.Aubert did an excellent job removing it & stitching up the large area! It was done so cleanly that I'm confident there will be minimal if any scarring! To say that I'm satisfied would be an understatement! I even received a follow up call the day after the surgery just to see how Lilly was doing. I've taken my pets here for decades. Dr. Hardy was always great with my cats and dogs. So of course, when I adopted two bonded kittens two years ago, I started bringing them. First visit, they are less than a year old, and the vet techs had to burrito wrap both of them. Dr. Hardy said that I'd need to sedate them next time. Seriously? I can't be the only pet owner with cats that behave like cats. This year, I did chase them around with a gabapentin/churro mixture placed on their paws. It took an hour to get the sedation eaten. But it didn't matter! The vet and vet techs still just stood there as my cats ran around the room. They didn't even try to burrito wrap one of them. The vet (this time Dr. Rondeau) said my 2 year old cat would have to be completely anesthetized (at great expense, she said) to get an exam and rabies shot...EVERY YEAR??? I'm not doing it. That same day, we took him to Vetco, where they gave him a rabies shot in his pet carrier. But here's the real problem: the vet tech that saw us this last time was so belligerent and rude, it was like she wanted to pick a fight with me. Arguing with me about flea and tick medicine for indoor cats. The vet never told me they needed that, and she had no business acting prescribing like a vet. I get that sometimes you have a bad day, but she was just terrible. There is no excuse for that. I'm so disappointed. This is no longer my go-to pet hospital. It's a boutique where the vet techs either don't want to be there or they never learned how to be nice to people. Yes, the pets are your customers. But so are the pet owners. read more

I've taken my pet to this vet hospital since she was a puppy and had great experiences with the vet and techs. Unfortunately, I will no longer recommend their services. At our last appointment for my dog to get a vaccine, the tech was extremely rude and unprofessional. She started telling me that I incorrectly administered previous medicines-even though I followed the directions given and did not solicit advice from her anyways. She then commented that at my last appointment they were unable to take my dogs blood because the tech "probably wasn't good." For the record, it was actually the vet and although she was unsuccessful with the blood draw she was respectful of my dogs comfort. The tech then went on to say that I never should have been given the prescription of Simparica trio without the bloodwork and reminded me about three times during the visit. She then stated she would get the blood work done. I tried to explain that my dog has anxiety at the vet and show her the best way to hold her for vaccines-but she cut me off and called another tech to help her. They held my pet in a manner that I knew made my dog stressed. The other tech was nice and seemed to want to take extra time to comfort my dog, but the rude tech immediately muzzled my dog. She became so stressed and wiggly that they almost dropped my pet. It was an awful experience for myself as well as my dog. I debated leaving a review, but the hospital just called and said they made a mistake billing me and if I wanted a refund or credit. I said honestly a refund might be better because the visit was so bad. Her response was, great, I'll just need your credit card number for the refund. She asked for no details or questions, and then I understood why this experience happened and why the quality of care at this facility is so inconsistent. read more

I've taken my Senior Cat Addie to the this Vet for 3 years and their very passionate & informative . They were willing to take me on a Saturday when my cat made a concerning wheezing sound that ended up being a heart gallop murmur worsened , if they didn't take him so soon and gotten him on diuretics could of been in a worse spot . They gave me info for an E.R in case he needed more help over the weekend for peace of mind In case he really did start suffering , they took the time on Monday to check in and get him In for an EKG next week so I can get more peace of mind and awareness to see whats going on . They equally care about the *quality of life as much as just keeping the pet alive to live . Whether it's short or longer then expected definitely know he'll be getting the end of life care he deserves . Dr Wilson and Dr Rondeau are the Doctors I've had so far , great job . Misdiagnosed our dog without even performing a physical exam with an incredibly lazy diagnosis, arthritis. Months later we found out what the issue was the whole time treating for something else. They'll certainly hound you for payment though. I'll be bringing a lawsuit against them soon for not even examining our dog, have the whole encounter on video thankfully. My pug had nose surgery (enlarge narrowed nostrils) , it is considered a relatively simple and minor surgery. I'm not happy with the surgery, they did a bad job and probably had vet / assistant who had no experience. The vet has been selling it as a package with the neuter surgery. It is not necessary for most pugs. Every pug is different, my pug doesn't run 30 mins every day... and he stays at home when it's over 90F...I'm very disappointed. All pets should be treated with respect and love they deserve. Never going back.. read more

We brought our new puppy here for his initial exam and vaccines, and had a great experience. Whoever is working the front desk is very helpful, organized, and friendly. It was easy to make an appointment, follow up with questions, and get transparent info on pricing and treatment. They took down my review because it was negative! My dog's stitches failed, and I had to argue with Dr. Wilson to re-do it. They kept the picture up of my dog's opened stitch. They are not supposed to take down reviews. That's what democracy is about. If the old owner, Dr. Rob Tucker was my dog's vet this would never have happened!!! Shame on you for taking down this review. The picture is the proof, but without my comment it's confusing. Where are you were claiming that you did not take down my review. I don't see it anywhere********-------my original review. I've never had an apology for the way I was treated and the way my dog was treated. I sent a picture with a tape measure next to it, which shows the degree to which the stitching failed, and Dr. Wilson said if I came in that I would be charged for the appointment. I said he saw the picture, and in my opinion it should be re-stitched.I had to argue with Dr. Wilson to re-stitch it. He should've just done the right thing in taking care of my dog. It was a an extremely upsetting and Trumatic experience for my dog. You can't just say you made a mistake and that you're sorry. It's always a an excuse with you. I'm so sick of it. You won't get very far with such a uncompassionate and mean attitude. The whole hospital has totally changed for the worst in my opinion, and you don't even care that I've been going there since I was five years old and have NEVER been dissatisfied with the treatment of my pets until now. You need a major attitude and compassion adjustment. BTW, appointments for taking out stitches are Free anyway, so you were not doing me any favors! *****ALSO, the purpose of stitches are to close a wound in order for time to allow it to heal. The woman owner is OUTRIGHT LYING when she said I did not follow post-op instructions. The Tech told me to KEEP THE CONE ON MY DOG FOR A FEW HOURSS--NOT A FEW DAYS. Our pup is always happy when we drop him off or pick him up from Concord Animal Hospital whether it's for a Vet visit or a Grooming. A little bit of a hiccup with communication on a couple of occasions, but we feel listened to and valued and am certain things will only get better. Our pup had a gorgeous grooming with the very kind groomer and I am thrilled that I get to snuggle my pup again. Our whole family is in love with the handsome little fur-ball that came home! I recently moved to Boston with my young puppy. I was looking around for a vet to complete my puppy's last round of vaccinations. The receptionists at Concord are always very friendly and although I was a bit nervous about not being able to be with my fur baby during his examination, the vet techs and Dr. Carpenter always made me feel reassured. I immediately trusted Dr. Carpenter after she talked with me about my dog's exam for 30 minutes over the phone. She was very detailed and took every step to make sure I understood. I continued taking my dog here and he was also neutered here. As an over-protective dog mom, I called with numerous questions and concerns and Concord always answered my questions. I was able to email pictures of my concerns and the staff were responsive about what to do next. I recently called regarding a change of diet, and they introduced me to dog nutritionists in the area. I truly feel like Concord cares for my dog. They genuinely take time to answer your questions and concerns. The prices are reasonable and they never push you. They are also very upfront about their prices which is not a given for every vet I have visited. Truly recommend Concord Animal Hospital! read more

Concord Animal Hospital is as good as it gets. Our dear kitty Luigi was born small and a bit deformed in his hind area, but we loved him through the years and controlled his thyroid condition with twice daily medication. When he went in for his rabies shot in November, I had him assessed as he didn't seem to be doing as well as he had been. He was down 3 lbs from his prior visit a year ago and blood work revealed he had kidney disease. Long story short, over the next 4 weeks we had him in to be seen again, and tried different medications to hopefully help him over the hump into recovery. Dr. Wilson and his team were beyond kind, attentive, and caring. I had numerous phone calls with him as I tried to determine the best course of action for Luigi. He was always helpful and kind and clearly wanted to stay informed of Luigi's condition. Unfortunately Luigi rapidly declined and we had to euthanize him yesterday (please see my review on Yelp for the amazing Peaceful Pet Parting). I can't say enough good things about Dr. Wilson and Concord Animal Hospital. Everyone there is wonderful and caring and I'd give them 10 stars if I could. read more

I like going to the Vets! They have bisquits. Besides it smells intersting. Especially the waiting room where the fragrance of many dogs and cats is overwhelming. Has me in a bit of confusion as my senses are in a frenzy by the scent of many a 4 legged wonder. The staff is great too. They say "hey Jack!" "Wow you are going to be a big Golden!" "What paws!" I like to think I am well pawed! Recently Dr. Rob had me catching bisquits in mid-air. He's a great guy and he told my buddy to try throwing pop corn. I'm waiting. Speaking of waiting. They keep saying my balls haven't dropped down! What's that? They seem to enjoy groping. Well, had all my shots, drove to get my shiny license. Listened to my buddy swear about trying to get the license on my collar and then voila...some new bling. This was an awesome hospital before Dr. Wilson bought it. We have been going to Concord Animal Hospital for years. Never a problem, until it was sold! We had Dr.Fish and Dr. tucker caring for our cat and dog, they were always fair, never pushed procedures unless it was absolutely necessary. We notice that Dr.Wilson always try to push a more expensive treatment. This past week we had a problem with our cat's eye. He is old and very skeptical with strangers, so I called to talk about it with Dr. Wilson, he was not available, I left a message asking him to call me back...that was a week ago, I am still waiting...off course the cat got worse, we took him to Blue pearl emergency hospital. They cleaned my cats eye, examined him and prescribed medicine. The cat came out of the hospital looking much better. The Dr. At Blue Pearl hospital told me if it doesn't get better in a couple days to take him back or to our vet. I called made a appointment with Concord Animal Hospital, took the cat in. The kept my cat for 15 minutes,. I was in shock when I saw my cats eye...they claimed they inspected his eye, but I doubt it, his eye was so goopy , how could they have examined him without cleaning the eye first? Anyway, it was a waist of money and time. If you need a vet that calls you back, that care about your animal as much as of your money, this is not the place for you!!! I am going back with the cat to Blue Pearl Hospital again, because on top of not doing anything for him, they told me that there was nothing else then could do! What? Concord animal hospital is the best, they care so much about your pets and not your wallet. My first dog had a terrible infection in his mouth and many teeth had to be removed and It was going to be expensive for me but they did the operation and let me pay them installments. When it was my first dogs time to pass because he had a stroke they were very caring, even so much as calling me to say they were running 10 minutes behind and they didn't want me to be sitting in the waiting room, when my dog could be with his loved ones for his final few minutes. They are now under new ownership but they are still wonderful they have the best vets around and my new dog loves Dr McCullough, he gets so excited when he sees her, best place to take your animals. read more

Our labrador is 12 years old and in excellent health - due in large part to the time and attention that Dr. Hardie spends on him. He is always very thorough with his exams and also very thoughtful. All of the Dr.s at this hospital are wonderful - they are friendly, love each and every animal they see, and spend as much time as you need answering questions. I have come in with lots of different cat and dog issues and have experienced excellent care in every case.I have brought pets here over the last 17 years and I am very happy with the new management and level of care. I do believe that their services are on the expensive side; I may have to review all the charges I have from my most recent visits so that I can pick and choose which are really needed. The male receptionist is lovely and helpful, however the 2 female receptionists are not (reminding me of the mean receptionist from back in the early 90s!). No smiles, no apologies, no chitchat. This is an updated review. I'm still giving it four stars just because the physical plant needs some renovation, which doesn't make a great first impression. But Concord is the sort of town where old Yankee millionaires dress like hobos, so for me, the shabby-chic thing is part of the charm. Get over yourself, and walk right in! But the quality of care is definitely five stars. I've been taking my Shih Tzu here since I got him as a tiny puppy, eight years ago. Everyone is kind and gentle, and Dr. Hardy has a special ability to make my spoiled foo-foo dog feel comfortable and not scared. We've been through a couple of minor surgeries, cardiac scares, itchy-scratchy issues, and the usual preventive maintenance, and I can't imagine taking my doggie anywhere else. read more

They are kind, patient and thorough and we have so appreciated being able to call with questions and special requests. they provided great support this year when we planned a 16 hour road trip with our two Goldens. Last year, our one dog came up with some very unusual symptoms. Dr. Wilson got others involved to help with rare neurological disorder. Dr. Wilson has been absolutely wonderful with our Golden Retriever, Haley. Dr. Wilson has been taking care of Haley since she was a 9 week old pup, including spaying her and giving her all vaccines. He is incredible with her - very gentle and sweet and takes pride in what he does (as a reflection, she actually enjoys going to the vet and is always happy to see him!). With us, Dr. Wilson has also been excellent. Very good at explaining what needs to be done, why, and alternatives. This is our first pup and Dr. Wilson was super patient in explaining all of the 'basics' and calming our nerves about puppy care. Dr. Wilson was my vet at another clinic before he purchased Concord Animal Hospital and I was sad when he left. Beanie is my first dog and Dr. Wilson was so kind, caring and PATIENT with me because I am a "tad" neurotic with her. After Dr. Wilson left I stayed with that clinic as it was closer to where I live I recently felt like I needed a trusted second opinion concerning some surgery my little doggie may be facing to remove what might be a tumor on her chest, so I went to Concord Animal Hospital to see Dr. Wilson for a 2nd opinion. He was wonderful with Beanie and ME, listening to everything I had to say (albeit rather tearfully), explaining the pathology results in great detail and even drawing a diagram for me to understand more. The bottom line is, if this lump on her chest doesn't go away and Beanie does have to have surgery, I feel a lot better about making that decision after seeing Dr. Wilson. Even though I have only had one visit at Concord Animal Hospital, I felt really comfortable from my initial (again, kind of teary) phone call to the minute I walked in. Everyone I had contact with there was so kind and I could see that they truly cared about their clients. I have decided that, even though Concord Animal Hospital is a lot farther away from where I live, I am going to transfer my dog's care there. Dr. Wilson is wonderful! I can not say enough good things about how caring and considerate Dr. Wilson and his assistant showed to my beloved dog Ace. Ace was diagnosed with cancer just days before thanksgiving last year(2016) by her previous vet. The x-ray and ultrasound images showed Enlarged spleen, enlarged right kidney, nodule in lung. This means that Ace has doggy cancer and the cancer has spread (metastasized) to multiple organs already. Since ace is 12 years old, we decided to forego the aggressive treatment and focus on making her as comfortable and as happy as possible. We saw Dr. Wilson in January this year. Dr. Wilson gave ace a grave prognosis: the cancer cells can cause spleen rupture anytime, which is fatal. Dr. Wilson also treated her infections and allergy problems. Ace has been doing well with holistic treatments for over a month. Then she slowed down considerably. Then she lost her appetite and her hind legs were paralyzed. My little Ace no longer enjoyed her life for the last two weeks. When we decided to put her to sleep this morning , Dr. Wilson was so caring during the process. He allowed Ace resting on her own doggie bed during the procedure; He gave us every chances to pet her and say our final goodbyes. He made the difficult situation much much easier to go through. The cost was reasonable. Dr. Wilson also told me that he's amazed Ace had lasted for this long...which warmed my heart thinking I have done my very best taking care of Ace. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Wilson. Highly recommended. read more

Dr. Stephen Wilson, DVM just moved to this office and his care could not be better. The office is homey, didn't scare my cat as there is literally no medicinal smell and the office staff is lovely. Dr. Wilson has been the provider for both my cats for many years and his compassionate style is greatly appreciated. He is the only doctor my overly anxious and aggressive cat will see and despite her outward 'meanness' Dr. Wilson never acts as if she is just the worst. My boy cat has been ill and Dr. Wilson truly cares with follow up calls, staying on top of the issues and listening anytime I have needed. We all could not be in better hands. Please give this place a try as you will not believe there is a doctor who is extremely 'present' with every issue and animal when they are in his care. read more
