Took a $600 Lara New York dress in to have it shortened. Told her exactly how I wanted it. She asked for a week. I picked it up on 11/20 brought it home & tried it on and it was uneven. The cape on the dress is still too long. She has no set prices and gives a price based on what she thinks you'll pay. When I refused to pay 100$ to have another dress shortened, she accused me of wanting it for free and raised her voice to me. Needless to say, I opted to utilize someone else's services. Ever since the management change, the quality of service has gone down drastically, and the prices have gone up through the roof. Not recommended at all and she's very rude. read more

I will never go back to Mia's again. I took three pairs of pants there to be hemmed. I told the lady I have a 34" inseem, I've worn a 34 for over 40 years. I know my pants size. She insisted on measuring the pants while I was wearing sandals. I told the woman I needed a 34" in seem. Of course the length was wrong when I put on my dress shoes. When I went back to have the hem lowered, the woman insisted I put the pants on, still in my sandals instead of just doing what I asked which was for a 34" inseem. I went to Mia's for 20+ years and she was fantastic, I've just had two experiences with the new owners and I will not be coming back. Besides the fact that they're very unfriendly, I went in to pick up a pair of pants on a Friday night when they said they would be ready and they were but their credit card machine wasn't working and I didn't have cash and she would not let me have those pants despite the fact that I had just been there the week before and the fact that I've been coming there for 20 years. We had a conversation about how long I've been a client and I asked how Mia is since she sold the business. Despite this familiarity she would not trust me to pay her the money on Saturday even though I needed my pants on Friday night. Lousy service, there are many others out there! read more

My wife took her $1,000 dress to what use to be Mia's, and they ruined it. Our son is getting married in June and they ruined my wife's dress. When Mia was there, things were great, I would not go there ever again! read more

Went twice: 1) Had a coat where sleeves needed shortening. Had pinned it with two pins to the length needed. She pulled out pins as soon as I put the coat on counter and the asked how short it needed to go. I said I had pinned it to the length needed. She said "oops". 2) Took in three simple cotton summer dresses that needed to be raised 2". The dresses cost $19. She said $20. For each dress. I left and had it done elsewhere for half the cost. read more

After my seamstress moved to Texas I was devastated. She always knew what to do with my clothing. And her prices were extremely reasonable. I searched hi and low for another seamstress. I found Mia on Yelp. I took a couple of pieces that even I couldn't mess up (if I could sew), and she did a fantastic job. Then I took a couple of pieces that were a little more difficult. I took several pairs of pants in for hemming. Mia charges $10/pair. Pretty standard job done - nothing too difficult about hemming pants. The only part I'm disappointed in is after my cigarette style/skinny pants were shortened, the ankle/leg opening became too large and Mia did not make adjustments. The pants now look extremely awkward on me as they flare out at the ankles and I most likely will not be able to wear them. Mia said she was going to charge an additional $20 per pant to fix this. No thanks. Will probably be back for very simple hemming/alterations as her prices are reasonable. read more
