I had my wedding dress tailored here. She altered the arm holes and sewed up the neckline a little - it was $95 and took over a month. She's a really nice lady and did a very good job. I think my dress took a particularly long time because it was not needed urgently and she was prioritizing other jobs over mine, so if you need something done more quickly she can probably accommodate you. read more

The Best hands down! I have been bringing all of my alterations to Vera's for the past 10 years! I don't own a sewing machine. My daughter was about 10 years old and her "blankey" that she had since she was a baby, was in desperate need for repair. The satin outlined blanket needed new satin. I have been using Vera's for about 3 years now and it has always been a great experience. Mostly basic alterations such as pants hem, dress shortening (for the wife), zipper repair, and other basic stuff. Vera and her husband are always there and a joy to talk to. Because she does all the alterations herself sometimes there is about 1 week wait but I wouldn't give up the quality of work and fair prices for a quicker turnaround time. Vera does good work, sure. I have been to her several times over the course of the past few years. My only complaint(s) is that I have given her my work, been told a date, walked in there on or after the date only to find out that the work has not been completed. Be patient. Vera does great work and knows her business. But, she needs a better system on delivery/committments, now there appears to be none. I have seen many people come in there totally pissed b/c she has made promises to deliver their work and hasn't touched it. They drive there and go back with nothing, and when uve already waited 2 wks, that's an issue. Even when I call and say Ill be in within a few days, or on Sat, its still not there, or hasn't been worked on. Being busy is one thing, consistent non delivery another. If u like bugging someone at least 3x to get your stuff, driving to/fro a lot of times...this is the spot. Too bad b/c she does good work and is a nice person that simply seems to be severely disorganized. read more

After checking for open hours I couldn't help but leave a review based on my experience with Vera over the years, all of which have been excellent! Anyone who goes here understands the quality of work Vera puts in but must also understand that this is a mom and pop business. Vera does all the work herself so if she's late or requires a week to do your work it's because of that. She also says to call ahead of time so just give her a ring to make sure she's done with your alteration and your set. Hope she never goes away, awesome lady!! read more

Careful!!! They only take cash or check. I paid cash for pants upon dropping them off, which I thought was a little strange on why I wouldnt pay when I picked them up. The husband checked me out and gave me a receipt. When I picked them up, Vera said I needed to pay. I told her I already paid and showed her my receipt. She indicated that she didnt write "paid" on there so it means I didnt pay. I told her that her husband rang me up, she didnt. Needless to say, I had to pay AGAIN if I wanted my 3 pair of pants. Make sure they write paid on the receipt! read more

I dropped off my curtains yesterday at 3:00 needing them finished by Thursday (2 days) and Vera finished them in amazing time.
