There comes a time in life when you need the services of a good tailor to make alterations or repairs to your clothes. Sadly, with the COVID-19 pandemic underway, many businesses have temporarily closed their doors, or gone out of business for good. Thankfully, Liz has decided to ride out the storm and stay in business. Anyone who buys men's dress pants like I do, knows that sooner or later, the threads on the button are going to start fraying, and it will pop off. Usually, this happens at a very inopportune time, and the results can be quite embarrassing to say the least. Worse yet, I never learned how to sew, so what's a single guy going to do? Simple, look up a tailor in the area that has a great reputation on Yelp. I decided to take two pairs of pants with me to be altered and repaired. I used to go to this tailor regularly but then stopped needing alterations for awhile. I had a wedding to attend with a new dress and waited until a week before to get it altered trying to decide. I was really nervous thinking it wouldn't be done in time and then I thought of Liz Tailoring. I was so happy to see they were still open and still had really accommodating ladies who worked there. They did a beautiful job on the alterations including a few I didn't think could be done. They do an excellent job and I couldn't even tell where they had done the work. actually the most unprofessional place I EVER tailored clothing, honestly most unprofessional busines. I gave two dresses, my pageant dress which they showed to another contestant getting her dress tailored there, they messed it up and had to redo it, I gave my maid of honor dress to them at the same time and it's TWO WEEKS LATE never going here and neither should you, you may aswell do it yourself. read more

First, Google Maps will show this shop further west on Ford Rd than where it really is. It's actually at Ford & Lilly next to Outback Steakhouse. I was very pleased with my experience at Liz Tailoring. I had a pair of jeans hemmed here. They were patient the three times I asked "maybe a little longer?" when they were pinning the hems up. Service was fast-I dropped off Thurs and the jeans were ready Saturday. I thought the price was reasonable too. I will definitely go here again! read more

This place was amazing! The ladies helped me with an alteration emergency. No grief, just focused and pleasant customer service. Ever other place I called gave me an attitude about my dilemma. Like they were too inconvenienced to be bothered. With Liz Tailoring, they asked what I needed done, how soon I needed it, and when I could be in. That was it. I took a Hugo Boss suit in to get repaired and she did a great job. It's a small mom and pop shop and it shows in the quality of work and friendly service. I took my wedding gown to be altered here. i was greeted by a small Asian lady. She seemed nice enough. She quoted me $35.00 to take in my dress an inch on each side. Being that she was the first tailor I had visited for the dress, I told her that I'd like to shop around a bit prior to leaving it with her. She said okay and assured me that they "do not do sloppy work". I explained that I wasn't trying to slight her work quality. I just wanted to get to know what the going rate was. After visiting a few other alteration places and reading reviews, Liz's seemed to be a good bet for the price. So I returned to her ready to drop off the dress a few days after the initial visit. She had me try it on again and pinned it. She then asked me if I she gave me a price already. I said yes, $35. She then said, "No. It's $45.00 Still a good price, right?" Unhappy with the new quote but running low on time, I gave her the dress to alter. She gave me a time line of 12 days for pick-up. The morning of dress pick-up, I called to see if it was ready. She stated that the alterations weren't fully done, nor the dress pressed. I asked her to not press the dress the, just alter it. She replied, "I don't care." I tried to chalk it up to a break down in language, but it still came across as rude. When I came to pick the dress up, I could see the thread on the inside and outside of my dress. And she took it in too much ( I weighed myself later to be sure, I had lost a pound!). The work wasn't terrible. But it wasn't great. Same for her attitude. She might be alright for hemming a pair of pants. But for something more formal like a wedding, I would advise going elsewhere. Not nearly as good a tailor as many of the reviews had led me to believe. If you use her for your wedding (or anything else), good luck! read more

Liz's is the only tailor I use. A few years ago I needed to get a top altered to fit me better, and they were the first I tried. They did a perfect job so the next time I needed work I came back. They're friendly and have always done a great job for me. read more

Had them hem my daughter's uniform skirt before school started. The cost was $25. At the end of the Third week, the hem became unraveled. I had to have it fixed this weekend for school tomorrow. I will try to get my money back this week but I doubt that will happen since the skirt has been repaired. read more

Good work, but the 3 stars is because the "hem pants while you wait" isn't true. They needed 3+ days for one pair.
