I was skeptical, but went ahead and left my car with Tony. I also had him replace the piece of vinyl on the edge of my front seat that had cracked from eight years of my sliding in and out over it. And he said he would recondition all of the leather sections of the seats. Wow! He really delivered. There is no way you would know anything was ever anything wrong with any of the seats. The look new. Amazing! And throughout the process from estimate to finish Tony was quick to respond and kept me updated on the progress. And all of that was done by email with photos, texts, and emails, which I really appreciated since we live about 30 miles from his shop. Thank you, Tony!

07/22/26 is the Day my Life changed for the Worst. I got referred to John's Upholstery from a Shop…read morein Plymouth that usually does our Woodwork. Met Mel, who started out as a Great Conversation, he assured me everything would be done in two weeks tops. As a Moving Company General Manager I make promises to our Customers based on what I am told. So I told the Customer exactly what Mel told me. Two Weeks your 4 Dining Room Chairs and 2 Bench Seats will be done. After the 1st Week I called to check progress, notice upon calling multiple times no one answers the phone. So I set aside time to personally go in to check progress. First thing I notice Mel isn't there and the Bench & Chairs aren't Upholstered or even touched. I leave, come back a couple days later, mind you we're onto the 2nd week now. Nothings been touched, I speak with Mel who originally quoted me $1200 to $1500 to which I told our Customer. Upon asking Mel what's the holdup, what's going on, he replied the place he gets Vinyl from is running behind in changed there prices. $1200 to $1500 turns to $2600. Know am extremely Upset. 1st you lie about the Cost, 2 weeks in you change the Rates. So I tell him to staple the chairs back up so I can take them somewhere else, he says he can't do it today, I can pick them up tomorrow. I leave extremely pissed. He calls me while am driving to tell me he made a Mistake it's only $1600 now. I call the Customer she ask me when will the chairs actually be ready. I click over, ask Mel. He says next Friday, it's Wednesday. Today's Date as of this Review is 08/25/26. The Chairs still isn't done, in Mel is now saying the Vinyl hasn't come in yet. In the Chairs & Benches will be ready Next Week. Notice the pattern? Got the Customers Deposit already. My Warning to anyone dealing with this Upholstery Shop. Read ALL the Reviews. This isn't the 1st time this has happened. It's a Review on here, if I've read it, I promise I would've never subjected our Customer to this Nonsense. I'm taking time out of my Extremely Busy Day to warn people. This Shop is the Worst of America in a Disgrace to the City of Livonia, where our Company also is located.

We began working with them to fix some rattan dining room chairs. Not only did they beautifully fix our chairs, they updated the stain to better match the table. We then worked with them on fixing up old couches. We were able to update them to be more comfortable, stable and they were incredibly patient as we picked out new fabric. Easy to browse the different rules in sections for vintage glassware, silver, furniture, and other upholstered and reupholstered items. They let you browse around on your own to discover whatever you're looking for. I was looking for some jewelry, but they had a bunch of older vintage watches as well as mostly costume jewelry. I will never be giving this business my money again…read more I brought my bridal shower dress in on June 3 and was promised it would be ready by July 3. When I called on the promised pickup date, I was told it wasn't finished and that she needed more time. I specifically explained that I needed my dress well before my July 12 bridal shower so there would be time to make any necessary adjustments if needed. Instead, I was left dealing with unnecessary stress over a missed deadline. The dress fit me 3x bigger as I bought a bigger size on purpose so that she can alter it accordingly to my body. It zipped and buttoned without any issues. After the alterations, it would no longer zip or button across my upper back. Instead of taking the time to evaluate her work or acknowledge that something may have gone wrong, I was immediately told that I had "gained weight." While poking my back with her finger. That was insulting and completely dismissive. When I returned to discuss the issue, I was hoping for accountability or even a sincere apology. Instead, I received neither. There was no ownership of the situation and no genuine concern for the inconvenience and frustration this caused. Yet I STILL paid. No discount, no sorry, nothing. So I took everything I had given to her prior and will be taking my business, my friends, and family to another business that cares. My advice to anyone considering alterations here is to insist on having your measurements taken with a tape measure in addition to any pinning. My dress was pinned, but no measurements were taken, and after my experience I would not be comfortable relying on pinning alone. When someone trusts you with an important garment especially for a once in a lifetime event they deserve professionalism, clear communication, accountability, and respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and because of that I will not be returning or recommending this business to others.
