By far the best bakery in NY. Everything was always fresh and delicious. Portions and prices are perfect. I've ordered custom cakes and regular cakes that never disappointed. The rainbow cookies, cannookies and creme brulee cupcakes are definitely a favorite from Mia's. Staff was always polite, very helpful and patient with custom orders and questions I had. This is my second time at Mia's bakery. Due to its raving reviews, I stepped foot into Mia's bakery the first time around and ordered a carrot cake and strawberry shortcake. Both were good. So why the 2 stars? Yesterday I came back to Mia's bakery since I liked their cakes the first time around. This time I ordered the red velvet cheesecake and a banana bread pudding. The red velvet cheesecake was sour and spoiled!!! I took one bite and vomitted. I thought maybe it's just me, but it tasted off. I proceeded to put the red velvet cheesecake in my fridge. Bad idea! It stunk up my whole fridge, smelling sour. How can any establishment sell spoiled cake yo a customer? At $5.95 for a piece of cake, that's a shame! I am going to attend to my upset stomach, but had to put this review out there. read more

Wow wow wow we came all the way from California and we tried four different bakery's and then came to Mia's in Brooklyn and it was hands down the best pies, cakes and gelato we have ever had here or at home!!!! I'm from out of state and need to grab a souvenir for my kids before I fly home. I'm not going to bring home trinkets or a tacky t-shirt that says I Love NYC so I may as well bring them something that shows I really love my kids. I come here and realize I could pretty much order anything from here and my kids would think I'm the best mom ever. I don't even know where to start. If you're indecisive, you could have a hard time trying a little bit of everything because it all looks good. I ordered a slice of the Brooklyn blackout cake for me, and some macarons for my kids. I honestly wanted to order cupcakes for them, but factored it may have been a struggle to get through TSA coming out unscathed. Next time I come back, I'd like to try their lobster tails, their cannolis (they had shells which I'm assuming they're made to order/fill when ready), and their cheesecake. I'm crying because I don't live closer. But it's probably good that I don't live in the area, or I'd be there all the time and my waistline would grow bigger LOL read more

This is a review update. I bought a cupcake here the other night that I wasn't too crazy about (the icing that is, not the cake itself, which was actually quite good). The owner immediately responded to my review, and we ended up having a really nice exchange. I'm always very impressed by owners and managers who take the time to respond to reviews, so I'm adding two stars to my review for that. It's possible I had bad luck with my cupcake so I want to give them another try. The people that work here are very friendly and patient. They have a variety of options to choose from, which can be rather challenging for someone who's as indecisive as me. Terrible table service. Waited 25 minutes to be served coffee - simple, black coffee. Basic. I didn't even want milk. To my surprise, everyone around me who was sat AFTER me was served their coffee and food. No acknowledgement either about the fact that it arrived nearly half an hour after I had ordered. Someone at a table right next to me even asked for a refill on their coffee about 15 minutes after I ordered mine and to my surprise a minute later her new coffee arrived. Wow. This isn't the first time I've been here and had been left waiting forever to be served or even to have someone ask if we wanted anything. It's not that their busy either. At all. One time I was waiting for an order for about 10-15 minutes (black coffee and cake) - saw the server who was helping just standing there...staring out of the window...at a cat. read more

Saturday November 8, 2019 around 5:30ish Popped in to get a Birthday Cake for my baby brother. The young lady that helped me was friendly, courteous, and patient. I ended up getting a $36 Vanilla Bean cake which was enjoyed by all the guests and now I have to bring another one for December 8. Cake was very fresh and flavorful and they put the inscription on what looked like hard sugar icing which was a nice touch. This may be my new celebratory cake spot. read more

Best cakes ever my favorite was the tiramisu and it was my first time trying fruit napoleon that they recommend and was a little out of my typical choice I'm more of a chocolatey or coffee type of dessert person but it was absolutely amazing this will forever be my favorite! Mia's - dessert heaven! I always try to leave room and get something here when I'm eating out in the area! Everything is always super fresh and delicious, even at 10pm. I highly recommend the strawberry shortcake, coconut cake, red velvet, cheesecake and my favorite - the fruit napoleon. I'm pretty sure all of their cakes are amazing! The only thing I don't like is that the AC is always blasting, even in the winter so it's uncomfortable to sit there. Great service too! read more

Yesterday, I celebrated with a friend for her birthday by going to Mia's for dessert. What a good choice! The staff was very friendly and patient as we pondered what to choose given the oodles of scrumptious looking choices. We asked for a recommendation from two waitresses and they both said the same thing - the blackout and strawberry shortcake were their favorites. My friend loved the blackout which I of course tasted and it was good. However, the strawberry shortcake was heavenly being light, not too sweet with an air of freshness - hmmmmmm! On the way out, I couldn't resist, purchased one Nutella almond cookie which was an added treat. Can't wait to go back and try the apple pie, banana cream pie, cherry pie, carrot cake, the list is endless. Guess I will be visiting Mia's for many celebrations. read more

I'm a cheesecake lover. I heard about Mia's and I had to try. I got the salted caramel cheesecake, it was too dense for me and the salted caramel topping was kinda gelatinous for some reason. I ended up just eating the crust. I most likely wouldn't go here again for the cheesecake. read more

We stopped by to pick up some dessert for our friends who just had a brand new baby -- IMO, nothing says "Congrats, you never get sleep through the night again" than a platter of cookies. The rainbow cookies we got were great. Super almond-y and moist. We also got canookies which I wanted to be genius; it's cannoli cream sandwiches between two cookies! Unfortunately, the cookies were too overwhelmingly sweet and the cream was weird and waxy. We also got a heavenly brownie to split - chocolate brownie with Oreos and chocolate ganache. Popped in a few days ago and was kindly greeted by a dude with an infectious smile (and attitude). He was at the coffee making section, or whatever you call it, so I assume he was the barista. Anyway, he helped me figure out my wifi and what to get. This place has 3 vegan options (2 vegan cupcakes and some pastry that I forgot). There were a couple more vegan options that I don't remember. If you're vegan, just ask for Arvin. He's an Asian dude with great hair and tattoos on his right bicep. Will visit again because it's a nice spot to get work done. Plus, they play the jams. Found this place by walking down the street and just stopping in, and I'm super glad I did. First, the environment is very cozy and comfortable. I sat down to do some reading and it was incredibly cute and lively. They also have a comfortable outdoor seating area as well. I ordered some tea and an oreo cupcake. It was yummy and somewhat reasonably priced, and they have a huge selection of desserts to choose from as well. I wanted to love Mia's but found it just ok. Picked up a slice of the Burnt Almond cake for my birthday and liked the texture of cake and cream but the flavor seemed slightly off. My partner got the vegan chocolate hazelnut and it was a bit heavy. I guess it all seemed a little industrial and large-scale... next time I'll try a smaller bakery. read more

My favorite dessert spot now! It gives me a Martha's Country Bakery feel and the cakes are just as good if not better! I went to the location in Times Square first and loved their Strawberry Shortcake and Oatmeal cookie, which prompted me to visit the Brooklyn location because it's a sit down. I was not pleased with this place. I entered this place the only smile and greeting i got was from the host and when I was inside everyone had a R.B.F on them; yea I get if one person has it then they having a off day that is normal, but the whole staff come on now. The service was horrible and mind you it was not packed when I came here; furthermore during my time at this place my waitress didn't bother to come by my table to ask if everything was fine and if I needed anything else.
