Cute bakery, freshly baked pastries, and fresh sandwiches. We especially enjoyed the cinnamon rolls which were not too sweet, had a slight tang, and had a beautiful lamination.
Absolutely outstanding pastries and sandwiches! The chicken shawarma sandwich was to die for although I was surprised to see tomatoes in it given those weren't on the menu description. Also highly recommend the chocolate babka!
Got a haul of pastries from Thea in the morning and a cold drink. The drink was a refresher and it certainly did. No sugar as well so while a bit of a surprise it was a welcome one. Got a couple different croissants and concha and olive oil cake. The cake was a bit too oily unfortunately so the edges were less enjoyable. The croissants were extremely buttery. This is amazing for some and a bit too much for others depending on your preferences. I preferred the double baked croissant as it was less buttery but still very much so. The concha was the highlight. The coffee one has a filling inside as well that's quite nice. Overall can't complain too much
A perfect bakery! So many options for pastries and options for sandwiches as well. There was a long line out the door but it honestly went by pretty quickly for a Sunday morning, the team is quick in action. We got the BEC breakfast sandwich, which comes in a pita pocket that I believe is the same pita they have at their restaurant down the street (Theodora) and is so good, and it has thick cut bacon in it that exceeded my expectations. The pastries were AMAZING. Got the Mango Labne Maritozzi which was UNREAL. Great flavors all around, I would buy their mango puree. Their citrus loaf was also so good, the texture was kind of like corn bread (in a good way YUM) and the glaze was perfect. I also got a lavender latte which was delicious (I think they use partners espresso which I like). They have a few specialty drink options which I'm always a fan at for coffee shops -- some bakeries you grab your pastries but get coffee somewhere else but I think Thea is a spot you're safe to get both at the same time.

My wife and I walk past this place on weekends and always saw lines out the door so we knew we had to try it one day. The bakery is small with limited seating but a great selection. The worker recommended some best sellers so we got the citrus olive oil cake and the mango maritozzi. The cake was not dry and the raspberries gave a nice tang with the mouth feel of the olive oil. 10/10! The maritozzi was so even more amazing and was so airy with a delicious mango filling. I also got a matcha hot coffee which was delicious and not powdery. Can't wait to try their other pastries!

The cake was very moist with a perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness. The maritozzi was so fluffy and full of flavor! Both delicious in its own way. There is always a long line but the service is quick. There are a few tables inside but they also have a covered little terrace to enjoy your food/drinks.
Delicious bakery with unique selections! There is a line on a weekend morning but it goes by pretty quick. We got the mango labneh bun and the kataifi croissant. If you like creamy and refreshing the mango labneh was soft and delicious. If you like texture and butter, the Kataifi is a must get. I personally like the kataifi croissant better. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice place to grab a quick breakfast and coffee before starting our day. Thea was a nearby cafe near his apartment so we decided to go there! It can be a little loud especially with the construction of the park right in front but I can see this being a really nice place to sit outside and drink coffee with a view of the park (once construction is over that is). The inside is a little smaller so it may be difficult to grab a seat inside. We got a an egg salad sandwich which was pretty small and their bacon, egg, and cheese which was quite filling. Their pieces of bacon were phattt and juicy. Definitely not a cafe to do work at but it is a nice bakery with good coffee and unique pastries!
Cute, tiny cafe from Israeli chef Tomer Blechman, part of his collection in Fort Greene. One thing I loved in the cafe was the decorative wall of ceramics behind the counter, which evokes the feel of Israel nicely. The baked goods looked amazing. Could only try a few things, but the flavors were soooooo good. Twice baked kataifi croissant was outstanding, great crunch and creamy knafeh filling. Sabich pita had just the right tastes of fried eggplant, egg, amba, fresh herbs. It came cold, though, which was a bummer; I prefer hot food. There's only a few seats, and sad to see that customers were lollygagging in these few seats with laptops and coffee dates. That felt disrespectful to those who wanted to sit and eat a meal there (like me). But I suppose this is Brooklyn and that's the culture.
Wow! What a great bite in Brooklyn. We tried two things - the Mango Labne Maritozzi and Kataifi Croissant. Both were interesting and definitely would encourage people to try as they are reasonably priced compared to other bakeries in the city. I enjoyed the Mango Labne, which was thicker (since labne is a strained yogurt) with a mango flavor. The kataifi croissant is dense and had great flavor and crunch. Not for my own personal tastes, but would love to come back and try more things!
Cute neighborhood cafe that's always busy on the weekends. Came in time for their last-of-the-summer chocolate babka ice cream sandwich. I knew it would be good but this was fantastic! Two pieces of slightly crisp, caramelized babka with ice cream. It was a small portion but super delicious. Their sourdough baguette is also fantastic with a hearty crust but fluffy interior.

Didn't have to wait too long, but there was some wait, we were lucky to get a table to seat outside but there's no more than 4 tables, so plan accordingly for taking out. All the pastries looked insane. I highly recommend getting the Chicken Milanesa sandwich because it was the best one I had in my life, and I had many milanesas in my life. The bread was amazing, the salad, the pickles, the sauce, everything, ideal to share. Also the chocolate babka is a MUST, super moist and with lots of delicious chocolate.

Super yummy pastries and sandwiches. The kataifi croissant, kougin aman, tahini banana bread, and babka were all amazing. The kebab lunch sandwich was also delicious. Pretty busy on a Saturday morning, but the line moves quickly. We got takeout. read more

The bakery is really cute, there's a few outdoor tables in addition to some indoor seating. The beef areyas were ok, my first time eating this food. It was mustard-y and tangy, reminded me of a green scallion pancake sandwich but more vinegar-y. The latte was so watered down and supposedly had dates and tahini in it, but I didn't detect any of those flavors. read more

Thea is the sister bakery to Fort Greene icon Theodora serving globally inspired pastries and sandwiches. We came during the morning rush to crush some pastries. We went with the vanilla bean concha, mango labneh maritozzi and saffron rice pudding tart. Our favorites were the concha and rice pudding tart. The concha sugar shell was impossibly crispy and sweet which contrasted nicely with the flaky pastry. We also loved the contrasting texture of the creamy rice pudding with a crunchy caramelized type and flaky crust. For something savory we tried one of their specials, a fish and chips sandwich with beer battered fish and crispy potato wedges. We think Thea is appropriately hyped and we're impressed with execution of everything we tried read more
So I love Theodora, and I knew I had to try Thea on this trip to NYC. And, well, sometimes I have high expectations. This was one of those times. Usually, with high expectations come disappointment. In this case? I was blown away. Where should I begin? How about a flaky, buttery, crunchy cinnamon roll. An insane flake with a rich, thin frosting. The interior still had plenty of that classic cinnamon roll gooeyness. The BEC was awesome. To be honest, I have no idea what type of bread they used, but it was so amazing. The bacon was some of the thickest I have ever had. Super rich, fatty, and salty. But, the bread helped temper the richness of the bacon which was nice. The workers are super nice. All of them were in there grinding. I always love watching the folks in the kitchen/behind the counter having a good time together and sharing laughs. That amplifies an experience so much. Beautiful bakery and coffee shop. The Bacon Egg + Cheese sandwich was pita bread stuffed with egg and THICC pieces of peppery bacon. It was quite filling and a great start to the day! Traffic increased dramatically after I left ~9:30 read more
The Miss Ada team doesn't miss. My boyfriend and I came at 12:30 PM on a Sunday and there was a long line, but it moved fast. We ordered: + Chicken shawarma sandwich + Sour Cherry Macadamia Oat Cookie + Kataifi Croissant + Muhammara dip The muhammara is the same one from Miss Ada and is just as insanely good. Great way to try it without battling for a reservation at the restaurant. (Similarly, you can get the Miss Ada whipped ricotta at Nili, their other cafe.) Sandwich was also amazing. As for the pastries, the croissant was fantastic. Cookie was good but not super memorable - would try different pastries next time. I also need more sandwiches and some labne! Finally, it's super hectic inside, so don't expect to find seating on a weekend. read more

Came for a quick morning snack focaccia and tahini banana bread. The focaccia was delicious, and the banana bread was not too sweet, which I liked but may not be for some sweet tooths. The place was packed, and the flow isn't ideal, but the line moved quickly. I had some difficulty scoring a table, but people eventually get up to leave. read more
Thea is possibly my new favorite bakery/cafe in Brooklyn. Led by the team of Theodora Brooklyn and Miss Ada, Thea is an artisan bakery serving Mexican and Mediterranean inspired pastries and bread in Fort Greene. I can't praise enough their falafel pita and jerusalem bagel. ＊Mexican Falafel Sandwich $16 *** I had a sudden craving for falafel pita sandwich and WOW, this one 100% matched my high expectation!! It was generously stuffed with three chickpea falafels, avocado, tomato corn pico, cotija cheese and more. The flavors were rich and harmonious. The pita was very fresh and made it less messy to eat. ＊Twice-Baked Kataifi Croissant $6.5 * I secured their last kataifi croissant on their pastry shelf. It was exquisitely crafted and twice baked to a golden hue. The shredded filo and cinnamon on top were addictive. The center was filled with a thick layer of vanilla bean custard. It was quite heavy so I'd recommend to share. ＊Jerusalem Bagel $3.5 *** SO UNDERRATED. This jerusalem bagel was the BEST one I've had! The crust was perfectly crunchy and well-seasoned. You can add Miss Ada's labneh on the side, which I definitely should do so next time to elevate the experience!! ＊Egg Salad Bun $11 It was a delicious egg salad bun. Served in a milk bread, it was filled with caramelized onion, honey habanero vinaigrette, and dill. ＊Chai Latte $5.5, Matcha Latte $5.5 I really wanted a cup of warm chai latte in the cold and this one hit the spot. The foamy latte and spices warmed me up. FYI there were still plenty of pastries when I visited on a weekday and Saturday noon. Seatings are limited though. read more
Yoooo..... I was yearning for a lil icy latte to pair with this ice cold morning and this place was a suggestion and holllyyyy shiiiizzz, I am so glad we stopped by here. We ordered 3 pastries and omg yes this place is a BAKERY. You know when you see pastries and a lot of the time they look amazing and then more often then not you're slightly disappointed by the tastes/flavors? Yeah, the goods get better after consumption here. All 3 pastries were absolute bangers! Maritozzi, chocolate cinnamon loaf, and macadamia cookie were SCRUMPTIOUS; as seen by the half eaten images of each item. And the best part of all of this too-- the latte was perfect. What more could you ask for? Bonus points because all the staff members working there were quite nice in just the small things. Greeted when we walked in by the barista, the cashier gave us his rec on which cookie to get and we are very glad we asked, and they were all in good moods and happy to be there. Just like us :) space was also nice and packed with people had we opted to stay it looked the perfect level of people on a random morning (enough to grab a seat, but def not empty or giving ghosttown vibes). We shall be back at Thea and based on this I'm eager to try their original spot Theodora. Well done! read more

Delicious coffee and a variety of baked goods (but I would love to see some vegan options). I love that they have outdoor seating - such a lovely spot to stop and sit with a drink in the nice weather. read more
We ordered the chicken milanesa, halloumi, and chickpea sandwiches to share. All of them were delicious, but my surprising favorite was the halloumi. I thought it'd be ranked third going in. The chickpea sandwich was unique and an interesting combination of ingredients that actually worked really well. You order at the counter. We went on a Saturday afternoon and were able to quickly get a table. They were out of most of the pastries by the time we got there. read more

Went the try the twice baked Kataifi croissant and is so Crunchy & flaky!! I like the crunchiness of it.. The cream inside is pretty good too just a bit too much for me 9/10!! Will come back try the Jerusalem Bagel!! read more

Hmm.... thea was alright but just did not hit for me as many other bakeries in this city have done..... i got the passionfruit key lime tart and it was good but just didn't leave me feeling like i needed to come back.... It was almost TOO tart dare i say ( i only ate half the filling ) .... Maybe their other things r better ? I still would like to try the maritozzi read more
We went at 11:30 on a Saturday and they were out of pastries, but everything we were able to get was amazing -- the butternut squash sandwich, baba, challah, and cortado were all perfect. I'd also love to try one of their pita sandwiches, which I'm usually skeptical about, but there's looked so good. As far as pastries go, they said we'd probably need to come before 9, although I do wonder if that's different on weekdays. read more
