I found Dr Yu and was thrilled as he was interested in treatments I needed. I also asked him to be my PCP that's how impressed I was. We were getting started and I was making a trip to his office which is hard for me and he knew it. The coward that he is let me drag my butt to his office where he referred me to some horrible functional medicine docs in Tustin and said some lame thing about not being my pcp He knew he was changing his insurance and practice and instead of making a virtual appt to tell me he's moving in another direction he made me drag myself to his office where he didn't even tell me I was basically fired. Dr. Yu is a very caring physician, rheumatologist and integrative and functional medicine specialist. He treats the whole person, instead of just with antirheumatic drugs and immunosuppressants. He goes for the root cause of the autoimmune disease. I have greatly benefited from his integrative approach with proper non-inflammatory diet, supplements and other measures, like injections against causative molecules. Until you experience an autoimmune disease, you don't realize how rare and valuable a good rheumatologist is. I ran across Dr. Yu on Facebook and he got his license in my state so I could be his patient. I've seen so many specialist doctors, naturopaths, nutritionists/dietitians, acupuncturists and even some very alternative holistic healers trying to get to the root of my problems. They usually dismissed me with a generic diagnosis that didn't really mean anything, told me I just had anxiety or depression and needed to see a therapist, or gave me an acute diagnosis that didn't connect the dots between all of my symptoms. My quality of life was quite low by the time I saw Dr. Yu. He immediately clocked my symptoms and told me his suspected diagnosis, which I'd never heard of before.
