Seeing Dr. Kornu has honestly changed my life. I've been seeing him for the past 4 months for my chronic gout, and I can finally live without pain again. Before I even started, Dr. Kornu explained all the potential scenarios before-hand which I really appreciated - I tend to ask a lot of questions and he took the time to answer all of them. In fact, everyone in his office is friendly and they talk through any issues that you might have. The ladies in the infusion center (Holly and Kim) are also awesome - they make the 2 hour bi-weekly experience so much better. They have to jab me with a needle every 2 weeks and, unlike having to play the lottery at Quest, they know what they're doing and seem to care about their patients. I still have a long ways to go, but after receiving the infusions for 4 months, I can already see a physical change in my joints, and I can sleep without feeling pain in them. I had been going to Dr. Kornu for several years but hadn't had a check-in for over a year due to Covid and since I moved further south in OC it wasn't very convenient is my condition was in remission. Everything was fine. Then, once I tried to have one of my prescriptions refilled which required a renewal it was rejected by Dr. Kornu so I called the office and requested a FaceTime appointment with him and dealt with the rudest receptionist I've ever encountered. She seemed annoyed by my questions and seemed to really hate her job. She indicated Dr. Kornu was booked up way in advance and offered to have me speak with the nurse practitioner instead, which I accepted. The next day I waited by my phone at the scheduled appointment time for the call that never came and even waited 20 minutes after the appointment time before calling the office as a courtesy. I spoke to the same rude receptionist who told me the nurse tried calling and I didn't answer so she moved on to her next appointment and I'd have to reschedule. I asked if she left a VM because I had NO missed calls and NO voicemails and FULL phone service. I also confirmed the phone number with her and reaffirmed I had no missed calls. She said they left a VM (they didn't) and basically accused me for the missed appointment and asked why I didn't call sooner. She then proceeded to tell me the nurse had to see me in person anyway since it had been so long. Why didn't you tell me that at the beginning instead of having me waste my entire morning waiting around for a call that never came? Such a rude woman. As a front desk receptionist you are the face of the practice and I would be embarrassed to have someone like that working with my clients if I was Dr. Kornu. After all that I still never got my prescription renewed, and will spend the rest of my morning looking for another Rheumatologist. read more

Unnecessary infusions. Incorrect diagnosis. Stay away from these people I have wasted 3 years of terrible side effects from a so called psoriatic arthritis condition. Dr Kornu has been my doctor for many years. He is very thorough, attentive and kind. I have never had a problem getting an appointment with him or Nancy, the NP in the office. He is responsive to my needs, returns calls, listens when you talk and goes the extra mile with his patients, as does Nancy. The care I have received throughout the years has been excellent. He goes thru the treatment plan and explains it in such a way that you almost know what to expect as you are going thru the process. Absolutely stay away from Dr. Kornu and his practice. At first, he seemed like a compassionate, competent Dr. however his staff is rude and passive aggressive. When there was big mistake; they refused to schedule me for an appt simply for a referral of transfer of care due to me moving out of state, which my insurance wouldn't cover. I have VA insurance and breached the abandonment law, requiring a physician to provide continuation of care. When I offered cash pay, they played games, stating I was in a different state and refused to accommodate me. When I called twice in a row they had no idea they had me on mute and I could hear them verbally and unprofessionally speaking of me. When they never transfers my records I asked my husband to call and ask again for them to fax my records, in which they out him in hold and came back to tell me they couldn't help since I was now in a different state, which is not true, the whole point is a referral for transfer if care to another rheumatologist in the state in now live in. I am a nurse practitioner myself and simply don't understand how someone I've never met would go to these lengths to inhibit care. When I spoke to Dr. Kornu, he spoke over me the entire time and seemed to defend his staff rather than take the opportunity to use this situation as a learning experience for his leadership team, and then first and foremost put patient care above office drama. I really liked him at first, now I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. read more

I can not tell you how impressed I am with everyone at this office. After seeing my old RA for 20 years who retired (who I thought was good....wrong!). I had to search for new one. Dr.Kornu is friendly and explains conditions, meaning he likes to talk but is not very willing to listen. Any concern the patient brings up is most often dismissed. He hardly looks up from his laptop the whole time one is in the exam room with him. Can't the report be typed immediately after the visit like other doctors do? I feel that the attention he gives a patient is shallow and rushed. He seems to be up to date on medications, sticks to established protocols. At least in my case as I reacted well to the prescriptions. If your healthinsurance is an individual plan, he will not accept it. He even fires established patients with an individual plan from his practice. Ethical? Much concern for the patient in his care? Some patients can not see through the friendly demeanor but if you are someone who is knowledgeable about your condition, do your own research, etc. you know very quickly this doctor is not for you. read more

Dr. Kornu is very knowledgeable, helpful and personable. I had a random painful arthritic episode and he was extremely proactive in helping me investigate the cause while helping with relief. His office has a blood lab inside so you don't need to go elsewhere to get blood drawn (and then they get the results while you're in office). If you have a very obvious case of lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or osteoporosis, then he may be a great doctor for you. However, if your case is not extremely obvious or you have a rheumatic disease that is less common, he will say there's nothing he can do to help. He was unwilling to investigate further for me, or even do basic research about conditions I had already been diagnosed with that mainly presented with joint pain. A few years ago I was very active and am now bedridden. He did not want to even google basic information to see what might be wrong. His wife is a doctor as well and was in the office the day I saw Dr. Kornu. She was extremely embarrassed by his behavior and thought that while looking through my files that it would not be too much work to try and treat me.
