HE IS THE DEFINITION OF A PROFESSIONAL. He actually cares. My friend got his surgery done on MediCal for christ sake, and the level of care was emaculate. My friends surgery was 9 hours and after the surgery you would think the surgeon would be tired or just wants to give you the news and get out of there, nope this man was smiling sat with us and joked and comforted us- true professional and good human in every senses. The nurses also at valley cedar sinai will tell you the same. He knows how to get the most apprehensive resistant patients to comply. Thats an art they dont teach in med school, you either have it or you dont. I always tell people to go get checked out. Colonoscopy's are easy. Prep isn't too bad. It's very important to get this screening. Cologuard is not efficient at detecting colon cancer...colonoscopy's are! Spread the word :-)

He truly understands what it's like to be on both sides of healthcare. I usually rely on my GP for referrals, but this time I searched online and chose him because he was the only provider offering a relatively early in-person appointment. I arrived on time for what I had specifically requested and confirmed as an in-person visit. However, the receptionist (or office manager) greeted me rudely and unpleasantly, insisting it was scheduled as a Zoom appointment. No one called the day before to confirm, despite standard practice. When I handed over my insurance card, she thrust an iPad at me in a hostile manner to sign again, with no courtesy or explanation. Her tone and attitude were so consistently unpleasant that I wondered why someone so unhappy would remain in a patient-facing medical role,there are plenty of opportunities elsewhere in healthcare. Eventually, I was seen by Dr. Rokaw, who appeared to be a rather large, older physician (in practice for over 40 years). I mentioned I'd done some personal research on Hashimoto's to better understand my condition, and he responded dismissively with something like, 'If you already know the answers, why are you here?' His bedside manner felt condescending, abrupt, and uninterested--he seemed to go out of his way to make me feel foolish rather than addressing my concerns helpfully. Overall, the visit was unproductive and left me feeling dismissed. Given his long tenure, advanced age, and what appeared to be a sedentary build suggesting limited personal focus on physical health, it might be time for Dr. Rokaw to consider retirement. He could benefit from stepping away to prioritize exercise, improve his own well-being, and perhaps work on more respectful patient interactions. I strongly advise others--especially those with chronic autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto's--to run the other way and seek a more engaged, compassionate provider elsewhere.

Dr Manavi didn't bother to call or see us to explain what to do after all exams. We were worried and confused. After calling the office couple of times, Doctor talked to us for one minute and said he is busy . We ended up to see other cardiologist to do angiogram due to his shorten of breath.
