We decided to hike up the more intense trail and it was so worth it. There were quite a few others hiking as well and most people seem to respect it. Picking up their trash and making sure to leave it as it was before setting up their picnic spot. Net time I'm going to make sure to bring my on picnic. This time I only brought snacks and water to sustain me while hiking. I'm so blessed to live in an area that provides this wonderful piece of Mother Nature.

Windsor has really come into its own, they have so many events at their park. All of these events have high attendance with lots of people enjoying their city and one another. All that, and the park still looks well kept - that's the sign of a good and flourishing community! :)

Each visit feels a little different depending on the season. It is especially beautiful after it rains. On Creekside Trail you can hear the water flowing, which makes the hike incredibly peaceful. There is also a scenic spot at the top that is well worth the climb and offers a great place to pause and take it all in. I would consider this a moderate hike due to the incline. The descent can be challenging in some areas because it is steep and rocky, so I highly suggest wearing proper hiking shoes. The trails offer a variety of terrain and along the way you can spot many different species of mushrooms, which adds to the experience if you enjoy nature observation. The park is easy to access, not overly crowded, and it closes at sunset. Overall it is one of my favorite places to hike in the area and a great option if you want a scenic, peaceful hike with a bit of a challenge. Highly recommend.

If you have a regional parks pass, please bring this with you and you can park for free. Some people that don't want to pay park outside the park and walk in. There is a picnic area at the entrance and picnic tables and benches throughout the park. There are clean restrooms at the entrance of the park. Pro tip: Bring water with you! You can choose to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the views. In the winter months it gets somewhat muddy so wear hiking shoes and preferebly ones that are waterproof. There are lots of trails to choose from. Dogs are not allowed. Horses and ebikes are allowed.

There is a dam structure about a 1/2 down the road that you have to portage. The portage spot is on the left handside of the river as you float down. Gate is closed, possibly aligning with the closing of fishing season. I'm not sure the exact hours. When fishing season is open, you can see several fisherman lined up on the banks.

I go here to kick-back, splash around with a friend, and get dirt between my toes :) What can I say, I'm a dirty girl.

Around the rear of the park there is a parking lot that sits right in front of the baseball field. Score!!! It was Sunday when I ventured here, so you can bet there was some family fun happening. I was surprised at how quiet it was considering it was located just off of the main road, Old Redwood Highway. Bordered by three streets, the other two are appointed with beautiful homes.
