So of course I did my annual eye exam in 2019 with OptimEYES and received the same treatment I did the year before. Who knew an eye exam could be easy and flawless? I also needed new glass frames and Antonio swooped in and helped me pick out a pair that was stylish and comfortable. His patience and explanation of frames made the process stress-free. It has become extremely difficult to schedule appointments with Dr. Hinkle or Dr. Boyle. After waiting weeks, we've arrived for appointments only to be told they were canceled without notice. Additionally, the front office staff is often rude and make simple questions feel like an inconvenience. The newer staff responsible for fitting glasses also do not seem to take the time to properly ensure a correct fit. This has been very disappointing given the level of care we experienced in the past. Unfortunately, today was the tipping point and we will not be back.

I was referred to Dr. Patronas who did a pars plana vitrectomy surgery on me less than two weeks later, as well as follow-up care. She was easy to work with and, more importantly, did a great job. From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. If you value your vision and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

I…read morehad purchased them at a different NVDO location but after about a dozen trips to that location to get adjustments done, I decided to try the Reston office instead. Brian listened to me as I explained my ordeal. Every time I thought the glasses were adjusted okay at the original shop, after wearing them I had issues with the nose pieces, the ear pieces, and the non-horizontal fit (sitting crooked on my face). For over 10 years, Dr. Davidson has thoroughly and comprehensively examined my eyes and vision. It is never routine with him and he makes sure that any and all issues are addressed--never rushing. He has a very warm demeanor and it shows that he cares. Unlike the other reviewer, I've never seen the office in disarray in my over 10 years there. I only have one low point to mention, and that was when he told me I shouldn't box anymore due to my over-stretched retina. I hope to visit him again when I'm back east. Addendum - Wow, I just read the one filtered review. Sounds BOGUS to me. In over TEN years there I've never experienced a bad receptionist, dirty office, an angry Dr. Davidson (??), pressure to use Sterling, or hidden charges.
