We met Dr Nasrullah during our initial visit. He was very nice and took his time answering our questions. He explained the procedure and what would happen afterwards. We were glad we got to meet him that day because we felt much better about the procedure and decided to move forward. On the day of the procedure, we met Dr Nasrullah at the Reston Surgical Center. He reviewed the process and procedure again and answered our questions. They collected payment the day of the procedure. Cash or Credit Cards only- no checks accepted. The process was as quick as Dr Nasrullah described. The process itself took about 20 minutes, but with the preparation and post care we were at the center for about 2 hrs. Before the procedure, my aunt's vision was -6 due to the cataract. Now her vision is 20/20! Very happy with the results!

Before I could be seen, I was told that I had to agree to keep my credit card information on file in the practice's system. I was uncomfortable with this requirement and initially declined. The staff then agreed to store a virtual card number instead. I was also asked to sign a financial responsibility form that appeared to authorize charges for any services provided by the practice. I added a note stating that I would not be responsible for services not covered by my insurance without my prior approval. The practice refused to accept the form with that modification. I found it unusual that an in-network medical provider would require patients to store payment information and sign such a broad financial authorization before receiving care. Since we could not reach an agreement, I chose not to sign the form and left without being seen. This policy may not be an issue for everyone, but prospective patients should be aware of these requirements before their appointment.

They are very thorough and take their time to explain what they are going to do and why, then guide me through each procedure. If they are not satisfied with the results of one of their exams, they perform it again and it provides better input for Dr. Chang when she comes in to meet with me. Peggy was very good in performing the initial base-line exams, making me feel comfortable ond confident. Dr. Chang does a great job of following up on previous conditions/ concerns with my eyes, double checks these while with me. She checks my vision test again to see if I need a change to my lenses prescriptions. I left my appointment and felt that I had received very good care!

Dr. Merrell did cataract surgery in both eyes. I have no complaints with either the surgery or the follow-up care. She also took the time to explain all the steps involved with cataract surgery and the follow up. Dr. Bourdeau was also part of the follow up and am seeing her now for itchy, dry eyes. All the assistants have been great. I have such confidence in the doctors that even though I moved an hour away, I still keep my appointments with Virginia Eye Center.
