I suffered from chronic sinus infections that were just crazy. I went to Dr. Miller expecting the usual script and and a co-pay but what a pleasant surprise I got. He was so thorough and detail oriented that he asked questions that seemed out of sync with the routine I had experienced elsewhere. He asked about my lifestyle, my pillows, my diet, well you get it....and he LISTENED. I actually now understand why doctor's corporations are called SC for "service corporations". He was providing his Medical Services. He wasn't doing me a favor by seeing me. I was giving him an opportunity to practice medicine. Lightbulb, aaahhhhh moment. Did I mention he went to Harvard Medical School. Matters not unless they teach you human compassion there. Not only did he cure that malady, he cured me of pretty much everything and during the course of a general conversation, he discovered a something that several other doctors had dismissed or negelected. Under his care and direction, I have been treated as a person, not a number and put on a path to wellness. He had given me guidance and referals that have changed my life. When I had a rough patch health wise, he was my go to guy and Dr. Miller got me through a series of unrelated, untimely and unfortunate health issues. We've since kind of broken up because he made me all better, so much so that I don't really need to see him much anymore. Not that I mind. But you know what I mean. I have refered countless people to him and each and every one raves. He moved from the city to Northbrook which is a hike, but his demeanor, candor and knowledge are worth every second on the Edens. He is kind, gentle, caring and concerned. Dr. Miller is the first physician I have encountered that practices the art of healing. How refreshing.On their website it says under his philosphy "Dr. Miller believes in a strong patient-doctor relationship and working with patients to optimize their health care" Understatement of the year. And lets not forget the support staff, Janie, his nurse. Can you say loveable and sweet. And efficient and kind. And accommodating and warm. Yep, worth every second on the Edens and then some!

AND he gave me an electronic prescription I sent to the pharmacy without ever picking up the phone. Anyway, technology aside, an excellent PCP.

Similarly, about 3 years ago when I first met Dr. Anderson, she diagnosed sleep apnea when it was missed for the 7 prior years by a neurologist and 2 previous primary care physicians. I prefer Dr. Anderson's Skokie office location; where her staff are warm and helpful at getting tests approved or expedited.

I have referred friends to her who were in the same position as I was; ready to give up, frustrated, and tired of being dismissed. I can honestly say that Dr. Siegel is THE BEST, most caring, most competent, most intelligent and funniest rheumatologist in the entire state. If she moved her practice out of state, I would find a way to see her. I never want another rheumatologist to handle my care. Also, her long time medical assistant Shannon is AMAZING! She always listens and does everything possible to help me, even when she is swamped. I couldn't imagine Dr. Siegel having any other assistant. This is, without a doubt, the worst-run doctor's office we've ever experienced. The front desk…read morestaff is consistently rude and seems unhappy to be there. They don't even know which insurance plans they accept--every one of our claims was incorrectly filed as out-of-network when they were actually in-network. Fixing this has been a major hassle, and despite multiple messages asking for the billing manager to call us back, no one has returned our calls. Instead, we were told that the doctor's wife handles billing, but no one knows when she comes in. We are now receiving final bill notices, yet the office has locked us out of the patient portal due to non-payment, making it impossible to access our records or communicate through that system. When my wife asked how she could reach her doctor or someone who could help, she was told to use the portal--the very one we had been locked out of. All we are trying to do is get them to resubmit these claims correctly as in-network so we can pay the bill and move on. That's it. And yet, we're met with roadblock after roadblock. To top it off, they advertise themselves as a concierge practice, which is laughable. Concierge medicine is supposed to provide premium care, personalized attention, and easy access to the physician and staff. Here, they don't even answer the phone over lunch. Why not stagger lunch breaks like any other service-oriented business instead of shutting down entirely? The final straw was when my wife--who is battling stage 4 cancer--called for the third time to resolve this, only to be scolded for trying to fix a 2024 billing issue in 2025. Unfortunately, we had more pressing matters last year. We're done. As soon as this gets resolved, we'll be finding a new doctor. If you're considering this practice, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

I have been taking the medication for 10 years so its not like it is something new. Second, four months after my last physical I got a call from Dr Levine saying he noticed that there was a shadow on my lung in the chest x-ray. Before I could even ask the obvious question, he said; "don't ask why it took this long to get back with you". The final straw was when I applied for Life Insurance and I was denied because my PSA # had sky rocketed. That was a total surprise to me considering I would have thought someone would have reviewed my blood tests from my last physical as well. The lack of review if my chest xray should have been a clue to me Obviously I am moving on to another doctor.

I'm disappointed with the patient follow-up protocols in the neurosurgery department. My hard-to-get appointment had been booked for months. It was abruptly cancelled this morning. They claimed they tried to reach me. I had no messages either through the portal or my home telephone line. Maybe try a little harder? I also was stunned at how unapologetic the receptionist was. Look, I realize it's a long holiday weekend, but our time matters, too. You came up short here. Do better.

Northshore is much too massive to have any type of organizational methods or effective scheduling of appointments. Northshore is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Yesterday I was on hold for over 75 mins, and they still were not able to successfully schedule the appointment. Yes, you read the hold time correctly. Today I was on hold for 20 minutes; and they were still not able to successfully schedule the appointment. Apparently only 1 person is currently able to schedule appointments for this particular department. What? Do yourself a favor. Save yourself an immense amount of frustration and aggravation. Find a different medical practice for all of your doctor appointments. Northshore is the worst.
