First off, I rarely review store experiences because I know they are often unique to everyone but this one particular experience just rubbed me entirely the wrong way that I feel I needed to put it out there ---and perhaps inform the store manager was well. It was one of those cliche experiences like the kind you've seen in a show or movie where the sales associate made the main character feels unwelcome, and passive-aggressively snubbed and judged. Now I know MK is somewhat of a premium brand but mind you, it's not a LV or Chanel store but just because I don't dress to the nines on Friday night to the mall, does not mean 1) I'm not a customer or 2) cannot afford your goods. Remember what our mamas always say "don't judge a book by its cover". Regardless of what you look like I believe anyone who walks through the glass doors is a customer and should be respected. Also, it should be noted I was coincidentally wearing an MK purse on this trip albeit an older model from years ago. Anyways, I came through this location, just to browse. My husband wasn't with me (oh, or do I need a man to make me look like I can afford things?) and I was casually looking at a few purses. A tall, long, straight dark hair Asian gal associate with her translucent leggings and short leather skirt came up to ask if I needed any help. I said "no, I'm just browsing". Which I have to make another point -- yes, your store is perfect and every purse on display is perfect wrapped and displayed but it sure doesn't look inviting to touch and feel. I'm a touch & feel kinda gal, so I started to check out some of the body bags, Empire Double Zip Camera bag to be exact. That Asian associate came over to me immediately and asked if I wanted to try it on. I thought, okay, sure ... it's nice of her as she undid the strap and let me try that purse in silver and gold hardware. I thanked her and put the items back afterwards. She then proceeded to tell me the price -- I didn't ask for the price. Interesting. Next, I saw the black Hamilton Legacy Large Satchel. Now this is where things got interesting. I was captivated by the look of the chain and lock decor on the front of the bag which is reminiscent of the Hermes along with side tassel details that reminds me of Chloe bags. Let's just say ... I'm in marketing so I do like to appreciate details. I was looking through the compartments when all of a sudden the associate stated to me "that purse is $500". WOW, thanks. I can read the price myself but OK. I brushed that feeling off -- the kind where my gut tells me she doesn't want me in the store and asked the associate, "Do these chain and lock come off?" It was then further amplified when her tone changed as she curtly replied as she had to stop mid-conversation with another coworker "Yea you can take them off" and she turned back to her conversation. Okay... wow I'm so sorry to interrupt your job. So I proceeded to try to tinker the chain to see how it worked. I was able to undo the horizontal flaps, but I could not figure out how to get the lock to come off, but I could feel with my fingers there was an inner compartment behind the lock and that I was really curious about. Since I'm a touch and feel kind of girl, I find it necessary to fully understand the usage and functionality a product before I invest in it. That sounds fair, right? But I didn't want to blindly tug at something and break it, so I asked/hinted again "so exactly how do you remove this lock?" Hint, can you come over and show me, please? Without batting an eye (but I can feel the rolling eyes behind her head instinctively through her tone) the same SA (sales associate) replied from 10 feet from me but still un-moving: "oh you just twist it". I tried to twist it, I slightly tugged it, the lock didn't come off. OK, I'm not a rocket scientist and I'm gonna be classy enough to ask when I need a little help. It was literally an empty store 45 minutes before closing. It's not like the SA's were busy. So I figure 3rd time's a charm so let's test this...Let's try to see if she would be helpful. I asked this time with a lot more clarity: "can you show me how to undo this lock?" The SA walked over and snippily said as she touched the lock, readjusted the bag back on the display almost like signaling me to stop touching it, "it can come off, but we don't do it here so yeah" and walked back across the room back to her colleague. Needless to say -- and I had a lot to say in that moment but decided the pen is mightier than the sword-- I walked right out of that store saying "thannnnnnnkss". But really, no thanks. You guys will not have my business today. Enjoy this review, corporate. Imma gonna be nice despite your not-so-nice associate and rate this experience with 2 stars vs 1 because I did find that purse cute but your young associate's customer service skill was a 0.1. I hope she gets retrained on how to work the sales floor. I've had my share in retail, it makes a person. read more

My favorite handbags. Ever. Walking in you get the service you know you deserve and although incredibly helpful you never find that the sales staff is overwhelming you. They are however, quite available the second you have a question. Kors bags are classic NY chic that are timeless and will always be that bag that you will keep forever. Definitely filing this under 'Living above my means'. I'm not a fancy person. Not in the least. I think there was a point where I liked nice things, but I just got so used to not being able to afford anything that I stopped looking, and started assuming that everything was way out of my price range. F'reals, to me (and my bank account), if something is $50, it might has well be $5000. So, how in the world did I end up at Michael Kors? I mean, I'm well aware that this isn't Movado or LV or anything like that, but like I said, when you're poor enough, a California Pizza Kitchen becomes the same level as Alinea, so my owning something directly from the Michael Kors store and not a discount-level department store like Nordstrom Rack or even Marshall's is cray. Like, I still can't even wrap my head around it. I was gifted a beautiful watch from a very wonderful and obviously less financially-unfortunate person than myself. I loved the watch they picked out, but I found it really hard to imagine myself walking around wearing a watch that costs more than my entire wardrobe- made up almost entirely by Mossimo and other Target brand clothing--- not to mention, I can't even read a non-digital watch (big ups to learning disorders), so it'd basically be a bracelet. After discussing the generous gift, and being swayed by the opposing party's persuasive powers into believing that a ragamuffin like myself deserves something nice like an MK watch, we made a bit of a compromise that I could go in and exchange the watch for another MK watch we'd looked at on their website that was a tad less expensive and a bit less flashy and neither of us would feel raw about it- only, the store didn't carry the lesser (but just as beautiful) watch. Boo. My partner in timepiece accompanied me to do the exchange and we were greeted almost immediately by the welcoming staff. I did feel like I didn't belong and was really uncomfortable being in such a swanky store (everything's white- what if I spill somthing?!), but that's my own issue and has nothing to do with them. The sales people weren't pushy and allowed us to browse around for the wanted watch and assisted us by finding the one we'd been looking for through their online store. They brought out several print outs that fit the description of the watch and we pointed out which one we were looking for. I was really impressed with the customer service and my partner passed along that the MK associates were also really great in assisting with the purchase of the initial watch. The only down side is that it seemed like the MK store had a smaller selection of MK watches than the neighboring department stores within that very same mall and the sales associate said that the watch we had seen online was from a future collection and wouldn't be in stores until mid March, though we did see that exact watch for purchase online, as well as at Nordstrom in their MK timepiece display case. We were able to return the fir$t watch, since their return policy is for 30-days only, and took down my information to call when they do get that watch in stock. And even though I'm not a super fan of having to wait over a month for the new watch to be stock at their store, I probably will wait and give my business to the MK store over the watch department at Nordstrom since the MK girls went above and beyond, and the two Nordstrom sales associates manning the watch counters refused to make any sort of contact with us, and even turned their back to chat while we perused the case. http://i.imgur.com/E8BCC.gif $ee you $oon, MK! read more

What once was the "coming soon" sign was now the store of all stores. Michael Kors. The store is lovely, and the staff was friendly and not prying for the sale. My Mom spotted a bag she liked, so I made note of it and returned later. Christine greeted me with a smile, left me alone till I needed help.......and the brave woman got on a ladder despite her stilt-y shoes. Although I prefer to go to the outlets and shop for deals, I went to this location to hunt down one purse in particular. A small handbag that looked gorgeous. But, when I got there I saw an even cheaper one that was bigger and could double as a diaper bag... I buckled and bought the more practical one, but later changed my mind and exchanged it for the one I truly had my heart set on to begin with. If you want impeccable customer service, then I highly suggest you go here in place of the Michael Kors at Old Orchard in Skokie. I went with the parentals on a very busy Sunday afternoon, and while there were a ton of customers milling about, the sales associates were all very helpful, smiling, and continually asking how everyone was doing. When mama Lee picked out a bag she liked, the woman helping us was quick to get the last bag in stock from the storage room, compliment my mom's choice and quickly proceeded to check us out. As I was waiting, I eyed a ring that I fell head over heels in love with and another associate was quick to open the jewelry cabinet so I could take a closer peak. Needless to say, mama Lee got her purse, I got my ring, and papa Lee left the store with less money in his pocket, but we were all definitely satisfied customers. read more

Never go there again. The lady there is rude. She seems like a manager. Without asking me, they took off all the price tag of the bags and told me all the Michael kors store would do the same thing. However, they did not do the same while other customers checking out. She even told me there is nothing she can do after the tag is off, either I buy or just leave. Another thing is that I have already told them the bags I bought were gifts for my family. They didn't give the gift receipts. The bags are not cheap. I paid for them. The attitude is all I get. I also told them in my culture, keep the tags on the bag is the only way to show the bag is new. No one respects my culture in the store. If you want buy Michael kors bags, my suggestion is that do not come here. Oak Brook is not far away. read more

I just wanted to say this store really amazed me in customer service. When I went there to ask if they sell the bag charms that normally come with the purses you buy since mine got tarnished and scratched for some reason, the lady that helped me said they dont but she can give me one for FREE if they have one in the back. She said that they have a few damaged purses and can give me one of the MK bag charms at no cost. I was willing to pay for it, but she said to not worry and that they treat their customers really well. I didnt even have my MK bag with me when I went in the store, and yet just based on what I asked the sales lady, she was kind enough to go in the back and look through a comparable bag charm to give to me so I can replace the one that I have. I know it is just a bag charm, but these little gestures to help customers go a long way. I will definitely shop there once I get the chance. read more

Great store if you like Michael Kors. Its not exactly the only one that says Michael Kors but this one has everything you might need. If there is anything to Kors that you like it probably is found Michael Kors. Too many stores don't source Michael Kors, but when it rains it pours, Michael Kors. A friend and I went last year and its changed alot since then (honestly felt like a brontosaurus when i was there, some of the stuff is sold!!! LOL!!!). There are few rocks to get over but really they are helpful. Not you dad's Michael Kors though, since things have changed LOL. Mostly remediation has been positive. 4 stars in the whole definitely Kors. :) keep some veggies though LOL!! read more

I picked up a fabulous rose gold watch and am in love with it. The sales ladies were great and very helpful with deciding on the size of watch that would best fit me. I came in hoping to find the watch to try it on. They had it! Hooray! They had two versions and after awhile, I was sold on the bigger, boyfriend watch. Since this was actually a birthday gift to me from my husband, I wanted to make sure he would be OK with me buying it right then. After getting the go, I purchased the lovely watch and the ladies were able to size it for me. I guess they had a little bit of trouble since it took some time for it to get sized. I should have browsed around while they were working on the watch but I just sat, anticipating my new purchase. They finally got it right and I wore it out the store! I've received numerous compliments on my watch and I wear it everyday and love it still. And the icing on the cake, I received a handwritten note from the sales woman thanking me for shopping there and making sure I enjoyed my recent purchase. Wow. I bought a purse from here a few years ago (and some other items since) but noticed a scuff on it shortly thereafter. It was passed 30 days and I was sure they would tell me "too bad, so sad" but they didn't! The ladies at this store (both on the phone and in person) were pleasant and exchanged my bag without incident. Sometimes I get annoyed with three people checking on me within twenty minutes of being inside the small store BUT... That is their job! They're just trying to make their money like the rest of us. read more

Love this store!!! The staff here is INCREDIBLY HELPFUL and VERY FRIENDLY! I have a hard time making decisions on purchases that cost more, so I spent quite some time in the store. They were very helpful in giving me advice on different handbags and letting me try to put my stuff (wallet, etc) inside of a couple bags to try it out! As I was checking out to buy my new wonderful MK bag, I asked about my watch that I had purchased at the same store about a year ago. They immediately replaced my watched, noticing that there was a defect in it. I walked out of the store with a brand new handbag and a brand new, replaced watch!!! I have been to the Michael Kor's store at Oakbrook mall, and I was very unsatisfied with the service there. If you are going to a Michael Kors store, go to Woodfield! Absolutely terrible and don't buy a bag from there cause if it gets ruined it destroyed they don't replace it AND your are NOT able to return it. You have to pay money to send it in for them to "look at" just to tell you that they can't fix it and then you have to order a different one which is not even close to the price your bag was... I did all this around two months ago I still have not received a bag and then they told me that the bag that I had a picked out originally from the first time isn't available anymore because they messed up and there was a screwup so it is now two months later and I still don't have a bag and now they're willing to offer me $118 gift card value when the bag was originally almost $300. COMPLETE BULLSHIT!!!! Never waste money on that shit again. read more

Let me say I only give reviews when I really feel they are deserved. I was searching for a gift for my wife. I walked into MICHAEL KORS. I met a young lady who was quick to say hi, asked me a few questions and pointed me in the right direction. She was with other customers, but made me feel comfortable right away. She said she would be back and she quickly returned. I couldn't make a decision on a wristlet. I wasn't sure I was gonna stay. I was a actually going to leave and go check out another competitor. MJ excepted I was leaving but defended her brand. Let me say that I am in sales. When I saw she wanted me to stay and was really willing to help me find something, I was completely sold. It was easy from there, I trusted her. MJ, what can I say? Thanks for a great experience. Every time I see MICHAEL KORS, I will no doubt think of you. I will definitely be back to buy from you again. I am so disappointed with this store. Either that or their customer service is lacking extremely. Long story short I went to purchase a bag that TWO ladies on the floor told me it was 40% off. I bring the bag to the counter very excited and ready to pay. Apparently another lady was looking before me to buy the bag SO THEY GAVE IT TO HER! The man working apologized and said he would find it at another store for me and ship it to my house. I thought "OH! okay thats so nice of him" I didn't want to loose out on the great deal I found. Mind you I really like Michael Kors and have a wallet from them I love dearly. This was my very first handbag purchase. I filled out my address forms, thanked him and left. The next day I get my email that the order went though, and the subtotal was $40 more than they told me it would be. Very upset, I called the store and the same man that helped me the day before apologized and said the other women on the floor misspoke and that the bag was only 25% off. Sure, mistakes happen but I was promised 40% off, and after the hassle I had to go though I would think he could refund me $40 or even a gift card? NO. All he could do was apologize again and asked me if I wanted to cancel. Ill be on the phone with corporate to find out what the issue is. Again I understand mistakes happen but when your dealing with customer service, this was the worst outcome. read more
