This Store is FANTASTIC comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I was referred to Tennis 27 from club members at S. Barrington tennis club where I am a member because my current Wilson pro staff had broken string and I needed a back up while my racquet was being restrung. Well I was thrilled that they had a demo program for $1 a day to take a racquet out use it. I was thinking of going to smaller head size from my 100 to 97 and was offered to try the Wilson Burn and also took a pro staff 97 and tried the 2 for a few weeks. They let me use 2 racquets and boy thought the 97 might be tough to play with but to my surprise once I got use to it after 2 weeks I felt it had more control and power and short ball were easier to pick up able to get the racquet head through quicker then the 100 sq. in. l decided to purchase the Wilson 97 go along with my current Pro Staff 100 so I have the back up I always needed. Damian was fantastic explaining the differences to me and also got my current pro staff 100 racquet back with 2 types of strings for better control and adding a new over grip on all restrung racquets is a nice touch. If there is rating of 10 stars that is not high enough, I personally give them a 15 for service and product knowledge. I would NOT go anywhere else for my tennis needs, everything they have is right there. I will add they have a great selection of shoes also, anything you need for tennis is right there. It's so nice to have a tennis shop in the area with owners who are extremely knowledgeable about tennis. My husband and I first went to the store to get our racquets restrung, and they did a great job on his racquet. After looking at my racquet, the owner, Damian noticed that the top of my racquet had cracked making it inadvisable to restring. I had the racquet for many years and really loved it. I had no idea what kind of racquet to buy. Damian helped me select demo racquets that were similar to mine. He is very knowledgeable about tennis and really knew the pluses and minuses of many of the racquets and how they compared with each other. After trying two racquets, I decided to demo a couple more. When I returned the racquets, I met Damian's wife who also gave me some great advice on tennis racquet selection. They even offered to do additional research to find me just the right racquet. Ultimately, I found a racquet I loved. Damien also recommended changing my grip size and offered suggestions for stringing. Both of the owners really seemed to care about how I liked the racquets, and wanted to learn more about my game. I felt like a VIP! So anyone looking for a racquet or restringing - go there! I just had a great experience at Tennis27 that I'd like to share. I broke the strings on my racket last weekend. I was annoyed at the thought that I was in for a 1 week or 2 week off period while getting it restrung, since there may only be 1 - 2 weeks of outdoor tennis this year. Monday I called Dick's in Schaumburg and was given a 10 day - 2 week turnaround. Yeesh. I asked if it could be sped up, possibly available by the weekend. The person in tennis + golf said that their racket stringing person was not in that day so he could not promise anything. Next I called Dick's Lombard; 2 weeks. What!? So I went on internet and searched "tennis racket restringing" and up popped Tennis27. I called, and the person told me that my racket could be available NEXT DAY. Tuesday, I brought it in after lunch to get restrung + new grip; Wednesday morning I got a call that the racket was ready. Sorry I don't recall the name of the lady who took my call & assisted me with my order, but she was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The shop specializes in tennis gear and services - - take that into consideration. I would recommend for anybody who wants better service than you will obtain at a giant sporting goods store. Folks, when my Son and I first walked in, Damien and his Wife greeted us with open arms and made us feel very welcomed. I understand that's their job to sale, but it always feels good when they add a personal touch from the start. I'm not a tennis expert but they both seemed very knowledgeable when it comes to tennis rackets, shoes, and stringing for both adults and juniors. In fact, they shared their expertise and answered questions that you as a customer was already thinking before i even asked. They were one step ahead of you. Also, Damian was keenly interested in my Son's tennis progress and believe me, he was very genuine. He even offered to coach my Son if he was interested. This store is very well arranged and competitively priced. They carry all the top brands in tennis and are still growing. The owners, Damian & Veronica, are very helpful & knowledgeable in tennis. They even have 2 beautiful Babolat stringing machines. They carry tennis shoes, bags, portable tennis ball hoppers, arm sleeves, demo racquets, & string for starters. They also carry yoga products. On my first visit, I discovered a travel yoga mat to carry with me in my tennis bag. All in all, I'm very pleased with this family run tennis store. They have passion in what they do and it shows when you're there. This is a full service tennis store. I highly recommend this to anyone who plays tennis at any level. Tennis 27 is a great new store wtih fast service (racket stringing) and great customer service. The owners really know their stuff, which makes it a great place for tennis players of all levels. Beginners can get advice on equipment and accessories that would work best for them individually and intermediate and advanced players can get input on what would help them further their game or help minimize ailments (of which I have plenty). I love going to Tennis 27 to see what is new, discuss what advancements are coming to the game and to shop for fun 'toys' in all price ranges (from tennis ball key chains to tennis shoes and the latest rackets). Great family business and great selection of product at very competitive pricing. Used Tennis 27 to restring three wilson Fed Pto Staff racquets and Damian did an amazing job helping me pick the right strings. Damian knows his stuff and picked the perfect combo for my game. He did my first two racquets last week in less than two hours and I was in a rush on the third one and he took care of it in 30 mns today and stayed past store closing time to help me. Great tennis store owned by great tennis people! Veronica and Damian were very helpful and accommodating to me selecting a racket. I tested rackets for almost 2 months and was consulted on everything from racket head size to racket weight to strings types to string tensions to grip sizes. In the end I got the perfect racket for me and liked it so much I bought 2 (and a bag). They also do a great job stinging rackets in less than 24 hours and provide text message reminder when racket is done. I highly recommend this place! The store is nice and clean! Everything is neat and organized! Very pleasing to the eye. Owner isn't pushy about sales and gives very good advice in terms of strings. He has a huge variety of rackets to choose and test from. He will string the racket in front of you! It is pretty cool watching him do the process of stringing the racket. I got my racket strung here and I played a few games afterwards. I love the feeling! This tennis shop is first class. I'm a former college tennis player who is very particular about my stringing. I came in looking for Solinco Hyper G strings. They did not carry it so Damian recommended Luxilon Element which I've found to be a fantastic soft poly. They also ordered Solinco Hyper G for me right away for my 2nd racquet. This was my first experience with Tennis27. I brought in 2 racquets to be strung with a touchy Ashaway string requiring a particular stringing process. I found this racket shop after busting the strings on my second Head racquetball racket in 6 months. The weight and feel of this racket is perfect for me and I wanted to continue using them, as I have found it hard to replace rackets that feel good when I play.
