I stopped in to see if someone could check my ring. It seemed like a stone had shifted because the refraction was different. The worst service and pricing in the jewelry business! I bought an engagement ring for my soon to be wife and it was beautiful. I did not feel like I really got any sort of deal but I loved the ring so I was okay spending the money. After two months of her wearing it diamonds started falling out. Luckily, it was not the main stone but a pain nonetheless. We brought the ring in and were told it would be fixed perfectly. They fell out FIVE more times on that ring!!! What a joke for quality. They finally offered to remake the ring. They said it would be the same ring at a higher level of quality. Wrong again! Diamonds fell out of it and they missed some of the most important detailing that my wife explicitly asked to make sure were incorporated in the design. The EXCUSE given by the owner and his son Dustin were that the ring was, "it is made by hand and can't be done the same". Well that sure is not what I paid for. When I took this ring to another jeweler to pay to have it soldered (because even fro free I would not let them touch it again) I was informed of so many more flaws. I was told there were still tool marks inside the ring, diamonds only had three prongs on them, and the edges were left rough. I thought they other jeweler might be overdoing it so I said show me. Not only did she show me on my ring, she showed me on a piece of jewelry that they were selling, what it should look like. If you are thinking of trying to find a jeweler, please don't even send your enemy here!!! read more

Buyers beware! Even though they are an authorized Philip Stein repair center, they use cheap batteries when you pay $20 to have them replaced. This is very dishonest. They have a huge billboard on Willow Rd. that says they BUY GOLD. I took 3 very sentimental family heirloom gold wedding bands in there out of necessity...not because I wanted to. A woman inquired what I needed....I showed her the rings..not a smile or any feeling of compassion for what I was doing there. She matter of factly took them and went into the back. 2 guys were staring at computer screens..without even looking up, one says snottily, "weigh 'em". A couple of words were exchanged between all 3 when she returned to say, "$375". I said, for one or all 3?? She said all 3. I was pretty appalled and insulted by their price....less than half the cost of the cheapest of the 3...and gold is near all time highs. Not a smile or an, "I'm sorry" or an explanation of how they got their price. I think I would have gotten better service at a pawn shop in the city.....at least a smile. read more

My husband got my engagement ring from Cy Fredrics. Dustin worked with him to find a center stone and then custom designed the ring (which turned out AMAZING!!!). We also went to Cy's for both of our wedding bands. The selection was really impressive and the customer service impeccable. I opted for two bands (one on either side of the engagement ring). Dustin worked with us to customize the bands so they perfectly matched the intricate details of the engagement ring. He also suggested soldering the rings together, which turned out to be the best suggestion! Now instead of having to deal with the rings constantly turning on their own, all three are always perfectly aligned. I have received more compliments than I can count on my rings and I owe it all to Cy Fredrics! Cy Fredrick's changed to battery on my $500 "waterproof" Tag Heuer watch. The watch worked perfectly after they changed the battery - only problem was... They did not waterproof it. Now my $500 watch is ruined. I took it back and complained and they told me they needed to send it away if I wanted it waterproof! Who changes the battery on a waterproof watch... It took a little over a week for him to design the ring and throughout the process he sent me updates via e-mail (including pictures) so I could see how wonderful it was looking.
