Michael was cool but not sure how complete the inspection was since there was no pictures taken of under the house and he was not in good shape to crawl under the house. Never in my life has someone been so disrespectful. To quote "we are over this property. We're not coming back" and "Your mother is nuts." This company is truly "ELITE". Saying Mike and his company is "Super professional" is not good enough. We had a major plumbing issue where our water wouldn't go down in the evening. He came within a few hours and fixed the problem so that we could get by. He also put a camera down there to find the problem out exactly. He gave us our options on how to fix it properly so there would be no more issues. After his recommendations we changed the main pipe. But to change the pipe is HUGE job where they had to break the concrete and stone in the back yard. Well he changed the pipe, BUT to put all the concrete back and stone was amazing. You couldn't even tell that someone even worked there. That's amazing! These guys are truly the best and I will never use anybody else. Mike was great -- we had just purchased a house and I had called to get our sewer line cleaned out. I had emailed versus calling and Kimberly from his office replied pretty quickly. I had set the appt through her and she was very professional. Mike showed up on time to clean out my sewer line, I had also asked him if he could take a look at the dishwasher/sink while he's here since there seemed to be a clog. Mike was patient and stayed while the washing machine went through its cycle and waited for the overflow to happen(for about 3+ hours!). He tightened our lose faucet as well and charged me a fair price. Mike was friendly (we were just standing there waiting for the dishwasher to overflow...) If you are in need of a plumber, Michael is your man! He was referred by a friend who has his sewer line rupture. I had a galvanized pipe rupture. :/ Michael came out and did an emergency patch job to get me through until I could do a complete repair. He even walked the perimeter of my home with me and explained where the failure was and what was advisable for me to do to protect my home. (This level of detail and care is extremely appreciated.) Not only did he send a crew out within days Of the patch, to replace all my old pipes, they fixed other concerns around the property... both those I noticed inside the house and plumbing deficiencies for exterior pipes. I have used Michael for an assortment of jobs for the last several years on a couple of properties. From changing out old pipes to fixing issues with sewage lines to repairing others mistakes. He has always done an excellent job. I have tried others, professionals and amateurs alike, and always come back to have him do it right. He isn't the least expensive but he has always done the job well. The first time I used Michael Shute Plumbing, they repaired my sewer line out in the front of my house and they were the best. They were prompt, price was reasonable (even got a discount without asking) and I received a video on YouTube explaining the work, since I wasn't able to be there myself. The second time I called Michael Shute Plumbing, a week later, my toilet was clogged. Michael came and snaked my pipe for free! You can't beat that kind of service. In response to the comment by the company, (2 years after the fact), they obviously do not remember the situation. An agent did not make the appointment, I made it personally and specifically said not Saturday. It was not cancelled the night before- it was never made for a Saturday to begin with. I was not a seller either. I never even met the crew because I was not at the property since we said "not Saturday". I never screamed or berated the crew, because, again, I was not at the property and I never met the crew. Also, I have no clue what squirrel they are talking about. The only contact I ever had with this company was over the phone with an incredibly rude woman. I contacted the sewer company that referred us to them and they said they had many similar complaints about the person who runs the office and it was a shame because Michael Shute is actually a good plumber. I was contacted by Michael Shute's assistant/employee the night before our scheduled annual maintenance. I was told our pre-scheduled appointment would be cancelled because another client had a plumbing emergency that may cause damage to expensive vehicles and property. I had this appointment already scheduled and altered my day, schedule, and plans which now caused me a loss. A couple of days later, the assistant called me back to reschedule. I kindly and politely asked if there was a possibility to get a discount on the service because of their cancellation and loss at my end. She immediately got upset at me, said ours was just maintenance not expensive cars involved, said I could take my business elsewhere, and then hung up on me. read more

Utterly unprofessional. He came out to our house to fix a leaky sink. 3 weeks later it was leaking again. He said the labor to fix it the second time would be $200. When I asked him whether this was the same problem and whether we could adjust the labor cost accordingly, he started yelling, told us he wasn't going to play games and hung up the phone. May be a good plumber (I'm not sure), but definitely not worth the attitude. read more

After being given a very incorrect quote by our sewer inspector for our new house, I reached out to Michael Shute for the actual repair. I spoke at length with Kimberly who broke the bad news that the quote was grossly under the cost of the actual price, and after calling a few other companies to verify that the inspector had in fact given us a quote that was about $1000 under the actual cost, Kimberly and the crew at Michael Shute were kind enough to give us a fair price that met in the middle, even though they had no obligation to do so. When it came time to arrange the work, Kimberly kept me up to date with the progress and was able to set something up even though I was out of town. When the day to do the work came, Kimberly promptly notified us that the sewage inspector was again incorrect with how much work had to be done, and when their worker actually went out and saw how much had to be done he stopped contacted us and waited patiently while my husband and I scrambled to fix the situation. Keep in mind I was on the other side of the country and my husband was at work, and everyone at Michael Shute waited for us to weigh all our options. In total the work should have cost a few thousand dollars, but the AMAZING team at Michael Shute realized that we had really gotten a bad quote from the original inspector and had relied on this. They called us up, let us know that charging us what the job would really cost was unfair to us and they would be happy to do the work at a fraction of the cost. My husband and I were astounded at their generosity and fair business dealings, which are extremely hard to come by in this day and age. Michael Shute did an INCREDIBLE job, and I can't recommend them enough. Not just for the great work they did at our new home, but for their kindness, their understanding, their patience with us, and for keeping us updated every step of the way. A great big thank you to Kimberly, who was so patient and kind and realized what a pickle our sewage inspector put us in, and graciously remedied another company's mistake for a fair price.
