PSF was the third company I met with, and after my initial visit with Sam, I knew I had found the right one. Sam took the time to listen to what I wanted, patiently answered every question, and never made me feel rushed. We discussed my vision for transitioning from tile to wood flooring, and he immediately put me at ease by explaining it wouldn't be a problem. Even after the visit, I had more questions, especially about floor preparation and the contract language. Having a construction attorney in the family tends to make you read every word! Sam continued to answer my questions and worked with me on the contract until I was completely comfortable moving forward. Even though paying 50% upfront was difficult, I felt confident I had chosen the right company. That confidence was rewarded on installation day. Tony and his crew were outstanding. I want to give a special shoutout to Tony and Johnny whose attention to detail was exceptional. It was obvious they take tremendous pride in their work, and it shows in every room. The staircase, in particular, is a work of art. Tony also noticed the original stair trim wouldn't match the new baseboards and suggested replacing it. That extra attention to detail made all the difference. The new trim, along with the beautifully caulked and painted baseboards, gave the entire project a truly finished look. Everyone who visits comments on how beautiful the floors are, but they also notice the quality of the workmanship. That's the highest compliment I can give. All seemed to go well initially the carpets were ordered and fitted, everything seemed fine. Then I started to get emails saying the invoice was outstanding and I was due money. This was a problem on so many levels but the main one was I did not pay for the carpets and could not go back to the person whose card was used to get proof of payment. What really annoyed me was the lack of remorse shown by the firm, no apologetic emails, just, you are due us money , pay now threats. When I asked the perpetrator of the emails to escalate the matter I got push back! Eventually the matter was escalated and after some email exchanges things went quiet for a few months, I wrongly assumed that Flooring Warehouse has resolved the matter internally or used common sense not to pursue the sum outstanding ..... then threats started again, this time of legal action. Talking to other business owners they said they would have owned the mistake and written off the sum outstanding (50% was paid upfront). Not with this lot, they seem to have little regard for their reputation or the inconvenience and stress caused to the buyer as a result of their own incompetence. Buyer beware, use someone who values their clients and puts the customer above their bottom line. The customer, after all, is always right.

Bob is very responsive to messages which I appreciate but this was a job at an unoccupied home (belonging to my parents) with a hidden key so I did want more updates (especially with my folks constantly asking me). I did not receive notification of job start or finish. I had to reach out to get that. I didn't find out that the job was completed until the following day. I received an immediate reply to my messages which is nice but like I said, I'd have preferred more proactive communication. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. Ultimately, a pleasant experience and we're all happy with the results.

Our rep didn't think through the job and asked the day of install about our baseboards then claimed it was a "client change" to the job. I didn't think of the baseboard situation as I don't do this for a living. There sales rep did not do enough due diligence guiding us through our vision. The wood floor itself is great and high quality but the rest was a nightmare. Don't have them do anything other than flooring - their light construction and painting is honestly incompetent and terrible. Lastly, new carpet for our family room. They upsold us a super plush pad then failed to write it up correctly. When I asked why the pad was not correct (after install) they acted like I'm a carpet pad expert and I ordered the blah blah blah 8 pound something or other. They were wrong, got it wrong, I opted not to PAY to fix it so I'll live with it, I guess. Overall, terrible experience but it could be the rep I got. Totally uncoordinated and a lack of communication for what we needed for this project. Very disappointed since we used Soleil as a referral from a friend.

While I had a basic idea of what I wanted, I debated getting a formal project manager to handle coordination of the full install. With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

We moved into a new house on the east side of Austin several months ago. While we'd had our builder…read moreinstall built-in desks and shelves in our study, we found the cost very high (and the quality lacking). Our 14' long living room wall looked very stark with its small TV cabinet and wall-mounted TV set, and we realized we needed something more in proportion with the room. So I looked on Yelp and found Josh Hager...and followed up with his website. I was impressed with the size of the projects he tackled, so figured he might be able to do a good job for us. Josh responded quickly to my first e-mail and came over within a matter of days to give us an estimate. He looked over my drawings and came up fairly quickly with a cost I found reasonable. Josh inspired so much confidence that we asked him that same evening to look at another space (upstairs) that needed a built-in. Once again, the estimate was reasonable. A week or so later, we thought of another project Josh could tackle: our master closet. Again, a reasonable estimate. We gave him deposits for all three projects. Josh is very busy, and with good reason. He does excellent work at reasonable prices, is totally honest and does not inflate the costs of materials. He uses good-quality materials (no MDF, thank heavens!) And Josh makes recommendations that improve on whatever you might have in mind, based on his breadth of experience. It's all about quality at a reasonable price. Josh uses great hinges on cabinet doors; soft close and push-button removable. Further, his estimates for both materials and labor, at least in our case, were spot-on relative to what we ended up paying. We felt it was worth waiting a few months before Josh could get to our project. Our largest projects were installed by Josh and a helper in a couple of days. The paint-grade wood and great workmanship made the wall units look so nice that we were tempted to leave them unpainted. We actually did leave the interiors of the cabinets unpainted...and they look great. Josh was able to connect us with a painting company to do the finish work within a week or so after he completed installation. The end results were phenomenal; the cabinets Josh built totally changed the look and feel of our rooms in a good way. The quality of his work and the scale of the project made the cabinets a focal point in our living room. We are very pleased and won't hesitate to call Josh again if we need any wood work. Lastly, it's now been about 4 years since our cabinets were installed and painted. I've updated my rating to 5 stars due to how well the cabinets have performed for us over the years. Side comment: I find it odd that so many reviews were screened out, given I can tell many (if not most) are legitimate, based on photos on the Triple Crown website.

I gave him a call, he picked up on the first ring, got all the information he needed and literally completed the job the next day. I found him to be professional, skilled, pleasant, considerate and reasonably priced. His attention to detail was impressive, especially since the mosaic design I chose for my backsplash was intricate and technically difficult to install. He takes pride in the finished product he delivers, and even removed one small piece of tile that came irregularly shaped, and replace it with a well-formed piece -- even after he had completed the install. Needless to say, we were nervous as heck! However, Sal Sanchez and his team made our dreams become a reality and made it a breeze. Our new house was built in 2005, so it certainly had that weird "closed-off" style with very separated rooms. Of course we wanted something with a big, open living/dining/kitchen space with several updates. We had two walls taken down, an island built in, countertops changed, and all of the floors taken up and replaced with stained concrete... you know, just a couple of things! Oh, AND we had about 3-4 weeks from closing to vacate our rental back in Dallas. From the very beginning, Sal totally understood what we wanted and needed, even down to the details that we didn't know we wanted (like a push button garbage disposal). When the process finally began, he made sure to keep us up to date on all of the important stuff. If something were to stray from plan, like the sink we really wanted not fitting in the cabinets we had, Sal made sure to come up with solid solutions before bringing us the issue. Capital City Tradesmen really made our dream open space kitchen a reality! (And in a timely manner!) Sal gave us price and time quotes that were still both spot on in the end, even with several changes and a few hold ups. Having a few friends with home renovation horror stories, we feel like we seriously hit the jackpot with these guys. Not only are they professional and create amazing spaces, but they all seem to have an eye for detail in whatever their expertise may be. On top of all this, our AC went out for two weeks! Sal quickly came out to take a look at our unit to see if it was something he could tackle (it ended up being a whole unit replacement situation). He was also kind enough to immediately offer up his personal Swamp Fan from his home to get us through that heat. It's all in the details, and we have certainly felt taken care of when things needed to be done. We had such a great experience with these folks, they are back this week to do our master bath! My first review was well over four years ago - and I thought it made sense to surface John again…read morepublicly, most notably due to the continued care and attention he gives our rental property out in East Austin. We are in the midst of a tenant turnover (not the best time as a landlord), and having the home sit idle for any amount of time seems like an eternity. But that's not how it is with John. Two days after the tenants moved out, John supported us by conducting a walkthrough of the place, highlighting areas that needed some attention, and got to work. He brought his mower and lawn edger to do some landscaping, flushed the water heater, fixed the front door lock (after troubleshooting it live with a support agent), tightened up some loose cabinetry in the kitchen and bedrooms, and even cleared out the garage of dust and loose debris. John is incredibly thoughtful and is a great communicator - thorough and complete. He actually takes care of the home like it is his own, and honestly, that level of detail and support helps me ensure that I can stand behind the value & security of home when it goes back on the market for the next tenants. John - thank you for continuing to be you. We appreciate you more than you know.

What an aptly named company, because yes, I do in fact, love this handyman service…read more We had paid Home Depot to deliver and install our new dishwasher. When they showed up they said, "Nope there's a piece of wood trim in the way, and we can't," and they left. Literally that's all they said... and left. So I begin the process of calling around to plumbers and handy men. John is the only person that could squeeze our small project in, and when I say "squeeze" I mean it. He (like many others) was booked solid, BUT he went SO far out of his way to make it to our house. Even hanging around for a while in our part of town when I missed his call and it took me over an hour to get back to him. I couldn't believe it. He's clearly not short on business, so the fact that he was concerned enough about his costumer to just wait around and see if we would get back to him boggles my mind. He had SURGERY scheduled for the next day, and was so concerned that if he didn't get to our call that night he wouldn't be able to for some time. Again, he's not short on work, he just cared that it would be a nightmare for us to go that long w/o a dishwasher. Now you would think, busy as he is, with surgery the next day, and late in reply to him as we were, that he would rush the job. NOPE. He stayed here for hours making sure he did the job right, and he was a very pleasant "house guest" as well. Funny stories about his work. Tips about other "jobs" around our house that came up in conversation, and actually tips too, not just fishing for more work: "Oh yeah you could do that yourself, you just need XYZ and to watch out for these things." The dishwasher is installed, run beautifully, and the price was absolutely fair and appropriate. I probably would have paid more. Especially considering how long he was here, and that our instillation did have a few unexpected issues. Again you might worry with other companies, that all the polite conversation it racking up the price, but no way, not with John. Read the name of this business and believe it. You will love this handyman service.

Word of warning, John, the dad, can be try to make you happy by telling you what he thinks you want to hear. Don't be shy about getting in his face and pinning him down about what will be done when and getting exact dates. Once again I waited about six months before posting anything on Yelp. I've been living with my beautiful, functional new kitchen and I smile every time I walk in there and flip the lights on. Thanks again guys!

They misrepresented their professionalism and abilities and then fraudulently charged us when we posted a truthful review on this website. The photos speak for themselves. We met with John and Ty many times at our home and at their flooring store regarding projects at our home. Ty the owner of Storey Construction offered to not send fraudulent charges he invoiced us months after we parted ways if we pulled down our review and signed a non-disclosure agreement. Seriously has to be one of the worst contractors in Austin. They talk down to the employees and bad mouth them on a daily basis. They yelled at us when expensive mistakes were made because "they didn't know what was going on." Since they are talking a 20% cut of your whole project they should know what's going on, but they don't and they blame the client's for being "difficult" when they can't open the new front door their guys installed. (Oh, and their guys installed it while gouging our new hardwood floor...repair was offered but we wanted nothing more to do with these amateurs.) Do yourself a favor and find another contractor; this one forces unhappy clients to sign NDAs and offers financial incentives to clients who will leave good reviews. This is not about money...I posted a 2-star review on June 1st, 2017, 3 weeks later we were fraudulently billed $1,100. When Ty was contacted via email about the bogus charges he would only speak over the phone and said the charges were generated 8 weeks after our final payment because of my Yelp review posted on June 1st. I have learned Yelp has no dedicated department to field intimidation threats from business owners. My husband was told by Ty the charges would "go away" if we pulled down the reviews and signed a non-disclosure agreement. The charges were for $1,100 we paid Ty's businesses close to $50,000 in total. We also have the final statement which shows they removed the $1,100 charge because it was bogus. Here's what happened, we ordered 5 new doors for install, 3 wood, 2 fiberglass. I wanted to order them pre-painted but was told by Ty and John unfinished was the way to go. They swore their guys were master painters and that the price would be cheaper as it would be a flat rate rather than hourly. We paid their flat rate in full before the doors even arrived. Then on the final bill they tried to charge us for 10 or 18 extra hours of work for the painting of the doors. That was never agreed to, there was never any change order sent and we proved the painting charges were included in the previous bill so the new charge was removed. Then we received a bill for the amount that they removed from our final bill in April on June 22nd. We sent Storey Construction a Certified Letter concerning our dispute with the bill. We also filed a complaint with the Austin Better Business Bureau to which they never responded but is on file for the next 3 years. There we have evidence to our claim. Instead of responding to our request to proof these charges were legitimate Ty sent the bill to collections in early July. Our only request in our BBB complaint was for the fraudulent charges to be vacated and for a written apology for our atrocious treatment. The mistakes to our home were ongoing to the point we mutually made a decision to part ways because their sub-contractors were too incompetent to complete the job without further damage. If you like being berated for requesting that the job is done right then this is the contractor for you. When John told his guys to skip the step of installing a door frame before installing the base boards; I waited for John to leave and instructed them not to install the base boards and I texted John a little later that I requested they not install the base boards yet. John drove back to my home to yell at me for being "difficult" before recognizing I was right. John was also the person who happily accepted two new fiberglass doors with the wrong in-swing. I was the one to catch that they both had wrong in-swings. I can't even list all of the mistakes we had to deal with but the worst is being told they'll "fix it." Your told you won't be charged more, but you will...they don't distinguish between the hours they work messing up something and the hours they work messing it up again. You'll end up paying at least 3 times when you have to hirer a real professional like we did to fix what their team did the first 2 trys. I have no doubt some customers had much experiences than we did, but I believe that far too many other Storey Construction customers have been silenced by NDAs that were signed to take care of bogus charges. That is how Ty Storey claimed to us "they take care of bad reviews."
