We needed some supplies for my sons school project. From the get go I was thinking g this project was going to require some time! However, fortunately, Michaels had the material that allowed us to take out hours worth of time! We spent a bit of time here and was able to get the materials that allowed us to cut hours out of this project. The store was really short on product though. Even though we found what we needed it was a hunt... there were empty places everywhere in here so we had to alter what we wanted due to our of stocks. The store looks like you are going out of business. The staff is unhelpful and rude. I asked where something was, and they pointed in a direction and when I asked them to show me exactly where it was. They rolled their eyes and huffed and puffed. I went to check out I tried to use the self service register and had to try three times and I was still unsuccessful. When I was finally able to go to a cashier, she rang me up and the total came to more than when I rang myself up at the self service register. it makes me want to never go back again read more

The framing department is the worst, like may of the reviews on here it seems that no one has any background knowledge when it comes to framing or experience aside from running a register. I came in not once, not twice, not three times but 4 freakin' times and my order still wasn't correct. A total waste of my time that I will never get back. The people behind the counter while they are nice, they are clueless and have no experience when it comes to prints, framing or how anything works. I came in to use the UPS Access Point but was in need of tape, to tape and enclose the package. The cashier, older lady with a short curly fro, glanced at the open box and instantly replied, "oh we don't do that here. You'll have to go to the package store". I informed her all I need is tape. She then goes on and ask if I have the label because they don't "do all that here". I responded, yes and asked if it's possible for me to use tape. The cashier stated again, "I need to go to a postal store" as she continued putting things away. She never stopped what she was doing to address this concern and from my initial greeting to her, she was truly unprofessional and unhelpful. I will never come again. read more

I've been to this store a dozen times and nearly every trip I've been greeted by -the- most disinterested staff with helping anyone with any issue. EVERY visit I have to review my own receipts to ensure that the sales and discounts are applied as they should've been, and they've been wrong on several cases, as the front desk and management just exudes an air of "I don't give a 'heck'" -- they don't care about you or me, just getting you out the door. Which is a shame, and it's so prevalent, that I think corporate would be well to review the staff at this location. I've reviewed two places in my life, and this is the first negative one. Because the cumulative jaded in-store customer assistance at this location is just beyond belief, and deserves it. Now the phone customer support? Absolutely hats off to April and Brandon in making today work as it should've been, and being the sole reason I'll continue to shop at Michael's -- albeit at a different location for sure. read more

I love Michael's in general, but it is hard to find anyone at this store that KNOWS where things are. They are nice enough, but they don't even seem trained on how to find out where things are when they don't know. When the lines are long, there's never enough cashiers to man the number of registers they have. That would help. read more

Im not nearly as artsy fartsy as Id like to be, but Michaels helps me to pretend that I am. I come here mostly for Wedding supplies ( I do flowers for weddings) and making baby blankets, ( since it seems like EVERYONE is preggos these days) They are pretty competitively priced with Joanne's and I get pretty good coupons from them often. They have a good selection of items and usually there is someone there to answer a question or bounce an idea off of, or to show me where something ive walked past 3 times is located Check out is usually quick and painless. read more

This Michaels has a wider selection of products that always leaves me satisfied compared to other Michaels in the area. My job depends on me coming here at least once a month and it's great to have exactly what I need! But their customer service is lackluster at best. I've had great experience with their cashiers, who are all very friendly and polite. But on a few occasions while I'm looking for something there is never enough floor staff around, and when I do find someone the poor associate is overwhelmed with other people asking for help and I end up waiting for a half an hour just to get a vase from the top shelf. And sometimes these associates don't even know where their products are? Or even know WHAT the products are? They get flustered and have me wander around with them looking for something I need because it wasn't in the same place as last week. I don't blame the associates, I've worked retail and it's not their fault. The managers are not helpful apparently. On this occasion where the associate didn't know where the tape was, she gave in and asked on her radio head set- "Excuse me, can anyone tell me where the Washi tape is?" I heard on the other end, clear as day "SIGH. Why don't you know where the tape is? It's in scrapbooking!" That's not helpful. That is disrespectful to your employees and I'm still stuck trying to find the tape that you decided to hide to make way for a different product. I also once seen an associate walk up to a manager and say good afternoon to them and then the manager scolded them for being nice to her and not to the customers she just passed! The girl looked completely upset and I don't know why the managers have to be that way. How dare they be polite to their boss! As if we're so hurt by this, who cares lady? No wonder these associates have trouble with that kind of attitude thrown at them. Train your employees better and treat them better, maybe there would be better service. read more

If you like to bake or enjoy making arts and crafts, Michael's is a good store for this purpose. Their sale prices are good and they often have coupons for the non-sale items. I recently bought something that was labeled as $4.99 on the shelf and I had a 50% off coupon. When it was added to my receipt, it showed $4.99 with the regular price of $9.99. I had just walked a couple steps away from the counter, saw the price, and immediately walked back. The check out woman said if I didn't want it, I would have to get back in the line (it was very long) which I didn't have time for, so now I will have to make a special trip back to the store to return the item. Watch your receipt as the items are totaled, because they are not always marked correctly on the shelves. Also check your receipt while you are still at the counter, otherwise you have to get back in the general line. There is no special return line. Note: Their framing department is great!!! I would rate the framing department and their staff at this location at 5 stars! read more

I had my daughter's birthday party here and Tommi was fantastic! She helped me pick the craft, got the materials together, prepped the room and ran the party! This was the best party I have ever had for one of my kids - all thanks to Tommi! Everyone at the store was friendly and helpful but Tommi is a rock star! I will not set foot into another Michael's. Period. Over-Priced, Careless employees, and and even more careless corporate office. Its my own fault for not learning the first time this place got me.I am an event planner so I buy items to present to clients. I often have to return items or exchange to finish a project. In this instance, I purchased items with a lady who was so into what I was doing, she rang the products up wrong. And when I had to return them for a client project I was working on, I was unable because she rung up bar codes that didn't match what I purchased. I was then given a "Merchandise Return card" that the alpharetta location didn't know how to use. Finally while visiting a another state someone finally figured out how to use my card. The second time I went back to michael's to return something I was given my money back without a receipt which was fine. However when I went back again to return without a receipt (lost in traveling out of state) I was told that I could not get a refund back on my card despite the fact I was given a credit card refund 4 DAYS Before. The manager was demeaning to me and she spoke of her employee that apparently wasn't supposed to give me a refund like she was incompetent and stupid, and lacked any desire to give good customer service. When I called the corporate office they didn't have anything to say but sorry. I have learned my lesson. Hobby Lobby is cheaper, cleaner, and more organized. Crafters beware! read more
