While I love shopping at Michaels, I did have an unfortunate experience. I am a mother to a child that is 2 years old who joined me in the store. But when trying to find a cart that would work was impossible, ONE single cart kinda rolled and it would without warning jerk and come to a dead stop because the carts wheels would NOT turn. Making it difficult to navigate through tight aisles and past other customers. I spoke to an employee, and they said over a year ago they put into corporate for new carts and still nothing. 1/12 carts "worked" and they had no solution but to see if a customer complaint would help them. Corporate can you please help? I had to end my trip short and pull the cart from the front due to it being unable to navigate efficiently through the store. I know I am not the only one with small children who rely on a shopping cart in the store to hold items they plan on purchasing. Aside from this, staff was helpful and store was well kept. read more

I am super glad this particular store is closest to my house, as it is one of the larger Michaels in the area. It has a decent selection and items are always easy to find! Where these guys really shine is the seasonal merchandise section that is positioned right as you walk in the door. No matter the Holiday, many products can be found! There is always some sort of coupon available for use that you can pull up on your phone and simply show to the cashier. They also have a rewards program. Make sure to give your phone number at checkout as the cashiers here seem to forget to ask (otherwise awards wont be accumulated). Customer Service is ok. I never see anyone out on the floor away from the cash registers for assistance. I feel at store like this, employees available for questions is quite important. This Michael's location is super clean. Aisles are well organized, and free from clutter. This may be the cleanest Michael's I have ever visited, though possibly one of the smallest. Items I looked at all had prices that were clearly marked. On top of prices being clearly marked, there are a couple of scanners in the store to check prices. One of the corners in the framing section has a clearance area. Each item's prices are individually marked. I did try to site to store my purchase. Unfortunately, most of the items I was looking to purchase were marked as online only. All but one of the items were infact available in the store. Though the prices were slightly higher. When I went to pay, the cashier asked "did you find everything okay?" There was one item I was unable to find. With no one behind me in line, I decided to inquire about the item I was unable to find. The cashier immediately called over the radio to see if the item was instock. It was not. Though I greatly appreciate how quickly and kindly the cashier tried to assist me. Parking is shared with other businesses in the center. There is more than enough parking to accommodate them all. read more

You know I love Michael's! I needed a couple artist loft paints & Of course- splurged on some miniature fairies for my friends! Everything was easy to find, lines were moving smoothly. This place is ok. I recommend Cappel's over this place but some things Cappel's just does not carry. Michael's has a great selection of scrapbooking stuff and a pretty decent selection of Christmas things to make homemade gifts or help decorate your tree. The prices are sky high and then they offer buy one get one free or a 40% off coupon. So it works out to be a regular priced item. I hate when businesses to this. Just make it a reasonable price to start with. I bought some really nice shadow boxes here to display our kids swimming ribbons. They turned out great. The shadow boxes had velcro so it was a lot easier to make than others in the past. read more

Michaels always has a lot of cool and interesting things for decorating your house or making crafts. Every time I'm in there it makes me want to start some kind of crafting project..I never end up actually doing it but I'm always inspired to when I'm there..ha. Everything is pretty reasonably priced here. They have a great selection of holiday decorations for whichever holiday is approaching..last year this was the only place we could find that had a decent amount of Thanksgiving decorations. As for this particular location..you can tell its old..and a bit run down and disorganized. Nothing bad enough to make me want to stop going there..but it's noticeable. The staff aren't bad..they might not go out of their way to help you but from any of my experiences when I've sought them out they've helped me just fine. My daughters love the selection of Beanie Babies here. They love to collect Beanie Babies, and I can always find a coupon or a sale on them here. Also, they have the latest Beanie Baby styles and seasonal characters for sale. It's fun how they all come with names and birthdays. We consider our Beanie Babies as part of the family. As far as the rest of the store, I feel there are better opportunities for decorations and crafts at other retailers. First I'd like to saw Michael's craft store is a big boxes craft store that has a TOn of stuff. I love their pricing & selection. I'm writing this review on the customer service (or lack thereof) not of the brand Michael's. Christy, the lady that seems to always be at the cash register. Please please please loose the attitude & say Hi Once an awhile. Im in the store at least once a week and you've NEVERTHELESS acknowledged me, EVER. Even if I say hi you still refuse to say anything! Had a return today and a purchase (that ended up not being so straightforward) and I feel like you could've gouged my eyeballs out! You're rude! Learn to smile! My 2 year old said bye to you SEVERAL times with NO acknowledgement. Seriously, you pin says you've been there for 6 years! Give me a break! If there was another Michaels close to me I'd go there! And then to try and find someone on the floor, is next to impossible. I placed an order for same day delivery and paid extra for this service. When it didn't come by the quoted time I contacted them. Was told it would arrive by 2:30. It didn't. Then I was told it would arrive by 5 and it didn't. Called again and was told I would get it by 8 pm....nope. Contacted them yet again and was told I will get it tomorrow between 9-12 and I can request a refund for the same day shipping charge. Really? They know it didn't come today but couldn't give me that refund tonight? This is the worst service I have encountered from any store. Not only did they drop the ball, I was lied to four times! They know if it is coming or not. Why keep me hanging and tell me it will be here when they know it hadn't left their store! If it doesn't come by noon tomorrow I will cancel and never do business with them again. They should not only refund my same day shipping charge but should be giving me a discount for all of this. Eastgate Michaels has been around for ages, but their store is continuously stocked with oodles of crafting materials for your creative pleasures. The store is well-organized, with aisles divided up into genres, depending on what kind of material you need: - Woodworking - Knitting - Painting - Create your own shirt - Stickers - Frames ... and so much more! I made Michaels my first stop when assembling part of my Halloween costume. There were a few specifics they did not carry, but the saleswoman kindly sent me across the street to Hobby Lobby. She even knew what aisle to look in over there! It's great that the clerks here are as excited about creativity as their customers, and are willing to point them in the right direction to acquire supplies. Customer services has always been top-notch here, which is essential when you're looking for that needle-in-a-haystack decorative item for an art project. read more

Just after Christmas. Not a busy day. Waiting in line with 2 people in front of me buying a cartful of marked-down Christmas things. One cashier working, while another was tidying up the other three cash register areas. Probably 4 other employees restocking and cleaning up in store.Manager discussing fabric display near checkout. Two more people came in behind me, making 4 in line. Then, when the 5th person got in line, the 'tidier' went to a register and said she could help next in line. Apparently, 5 people in line triggers a response to their customers. Stood there for 15 min to buy one frame. Their indifference to customers will force me to go to Hobby Lobby, even though I despise their politics. read more

I signed up to take a Wilton Cake Decorating 2 Class. Apparently, I was the only person that signed up for the class so the class was cancelled. I was told by the manager when I called asking about my refund that I had to go on-line to "cancel my registration" since I registered for the class on-line. Well, there is no way you can do that on-line. I have written Michael's Customer Service twice. No refund!! So I have no class and they took my money. I think that sucks! I don't know that I have ever encountered a manager as rude as EMILY. I had a question about a price of an item that I thought was priced at a mere 39 cents on the shelf and it rang up 89 cents. I had 3 of them so I questioned it. The young lady at the register used a price gun to check the price and said "Oh it is supposed to be 16 cents" She called for a manager to change the price and that is where it all went down hill quickly with rude Ms Emily. First she chastised the poor clerk and said I don't know what you are talking about. Now I knew as I am in retail that she was probably reading the cost but I didn't want to disclose that in front of other customer, so I stated again well I think it is supposed to be 39 cents. She looked at the girl and said well that's the cost not the retail. When she told Emily she checked with someone else she spit out at her again and said well she is newer than you, don't ask her ask me next time, never give someone the cost!!. At this point I was starting to get very annoyed by her attitude and unwillingness to assist so I said it isn't that difficult to walk back and look on the shelf at the tag. So I marched back as she followed me and she quickly and very rudely pointed out that the tag was for an item they were out of and she said See it's 89 cents. AT this point I put everything I had back on the shelf and said well you can keep it all for being so rude. She said well do you want me to void that transaction? I said well I guess you will have to now won't you. Keep in mind this is all over $1.50! So as I now pissed walked behind her to the front I asked her name and she gave it to me while walking up front and I stated she should honor the price her associate said. She spouted back that she won't give things away and doesn't want to be fired...over $1.50 hmmm. The straw that broke me was when I was leaving the store, she loudly and rudely proclaims after me to "Have a nice night" so I felt it necessary to loudly answer back I will you stupid "B!" Off to Hobby Lobby where I should have gone in the first place!! As they are always super nice there. And BTW Michaels I ended up buying something I liked there much better and spent 7X the original 89cent price, so it was never about the price...always about the attitude and lack of service I received at your store.
