This store has probably one of the biggest selections of crafting materials. I love shop here for origami papers. The down side is that they don't have enough staff for the enormous store. The isles are not always labeled properly (sometimes unlabeled). I always take a long time to browse if I am looking for something particular since there is usually nobody around to direct me to the right place. read more

They have giant hanging signs up though that tell you what is in that section of the store. I am not sure why, because all the stores are arranged differently, but this store lacks something when you walk in. Maybe it is the location of the cashiers or perhaps it is a lower volume store, but it doesn't seem very welcoming and the layout is cramped and / or dark in some spots of the store. I have had a couple of visits here an while some people are available in that they are doing things, it just seems as if they are inconvenienced by your visit. I know it is hard to keep working when things are slow however you are there for a reason and it just makes me realize that i need to be shopping at a local store - if I had the option nearby. I just don't know if this is the result of the store location, the size, the staff, the management that makes this store unpalatable to enter. I highly recommend a different location. Better ideas presented, more friendly staff, and better layout and if you are going to pull prices down before closing, then an area that sums up what is on sale in the store would be helpful to refer to and some kind of signs that let you know where things are would be helpful because this particular group of team members working here don't seem too interested in the customer's need to find things efficiently. read more

We had a professional photo framed here and it came out great. Drawbacks are that unless you get there for an excellent sale the pricing is insane. They do have sales frequently, so keep an eye out. Also they are constantly understaffed at both the registers and in the framing department. read more

LOVE ALL Michael's stores! They offer the BEST coupon deals & have a great selection for just about any genre in arts & crafts. Their prices are always the best as well! This store I always have issues with the checkers. Some are fantastic & friendly (but incredibly slow) & the others are rude & short, & unwilling to help. I've had troubles with a couple different checkers in returning items, but mostly the managers on site are the ones that refuse to help their customers out & won't allow the checkers to either. I've had some AWESOME checkers though, so I can't say they're all bad. But if/when you go here, expect to wait in line for 30 minutes, because everyone in front of you will be having issues with the checkers/managers themselves, & there's rarely more then one open lane. read more

i like michaels. i really do. well, i like the idea of it. craft store! awesome! however, flawed execution. for being a craft store, you might think it would look more, well, crafty. you might think wrong. jeez, paint the walls or get tile that isn't white! hang up some cross stitch things or whatever it is little old ladies (like myself, unfortunately, at the age of 19) are doing these days! and poor, poor selection of knitting needles. i have more knitting needles in my amateur knitting drawer! read more

In a time when businesses are short staffed and it seems every other thing on your list is having production issues, it's so important to acknowledge the people who are showing up and actually caring. I placed an online-in store pick up order today right around the time they typically stop filling them for the day. I didn't get any notifications and it was getting closer and closer to the time the store closed, my husband was picking up my order on his way home from work and I was really hoping to have these things by the end of the day. When I called the store the initial person I spoke to transferred me to the person who is the reason for this review. I wish I would've gotten her name but she was so kind, understanding and helpful! Not only did she take the time to look up my order after the time of day they typically do, she filled it herself and had it ready within 5 minutes. This Michaels location is poorly organized and poorly laid out, so I caution you against coming here during the holiday season, since decorations and supplies are strewn about all willy nilly as if old Saint Nick had thrown up Christmas and spewed it about the store. If they invested in signage for aisles, it'd really be helpful. Instead they've painted very general categories on the walls and said categories are very hard to see over the tall shelves that are stacked high with crafty gadgets and doodads. Unless you can track down someone (which you probably won't be able to, since they'll be helping the long lines of people waiting to pay) while you are looking for something specific, you will likely be forced to wander throughout the entire store to find it. Aside from all of that, though, Michaels is your basic big box craft store. It has your scrap booking materials, your Halloween decorations, card stock, calligraphy pens, paints and so on. While you may have to dig and search for it, they will undoubtedly have the art/craft supply that you need for your next project and it'll be at a reasonable price. read more

This Michaels location is pretty good, however my one suggestion would be to have more employees circulating throughout the store to answer questions. I was able to get what I needed quickly and even got to use a 50% off coupon. The location is great and there are lots of other stores in the same shopping center which would make running errands here a breeze! read more

Sometimes I have no choice but to go to this place since it's cheap, but every time I have gone there the staff is so super slow and not helpful at all. I can't find the things I want unless I walk around and ask other shoppers. I tried to exchange something and the cashier doing the exchange kept telling me "I'm not having fun doing this" over and over and just huffing and puffing during the entire transaction. I wanted to just take everything back and leave. Then she charged me for an item that I actually wanted to return. maybe she was having a bad day. Time before that the cashier just had a conversation with her friend while a line was waiting. This places sucks. read more

I always forget about this Michaels- it's not my favorite- but it still meets my crafting needs when I run out of something. The parking lot over here is a joke, and so busy. This store's layout is not as open as other locations I have been too, but the staff is super friendly and helpful here (it seems they have to be because you can't find anything you are looking for here). I am mostly here for yarn to feed my crochet hooks. The yarn section is a little wonky and it's hard to find the right isle to get what your after, but regardless of those little hic-cups I do like to get my craft on! Great time to shop is when they have "Clearance" sales and after holiday blow outs of the season's leftovers. read more

This place is a crafter's wet dream! The new and improved Michaels ( just south of the old location on Colorado) is magical. I know the old location was a mess before the move, but check out the new store. It's huge and very well organized. At this point I've only explored the knitting and jewelry section, but I would say both are solid. I've found Michaels to have the best yarn selection in the area. It's also a great environment to ask questions and learn... I ended up getting a lesson in jewelry-making basics from a fellow customer. Watch out, HSN! read more

this Michael's has a wonderful host of Martha Stewart craft items (I'm OBSESSED with MS). however, it's not very well organized. this could easily be attributed to the fact that i visited this location on a saturday afternon and the stock was most likely picked over and rustled up. the staff was friendly and helpful and everything's well placed and easy to find (by aisle and markings, not necessarily within in them (see point above). next time i get the crafty bug, i'll definitely be visting here. ps - for those of you NOT familiar with the area, it's on the side of 25 without the super target and weight watchers. :) read more

Large Michael's location. It's in a pretty busy plaza area too so plenty to do for me while my family goes grocery shopping at the stores next door. The layout inside is a little confusing but as a anything-goes type I like seeing all of the things that can add to your current craft or art project. I fail to understand how a store full of craft provisions consistently fails to have what I'm looking for. I'm not talking about odd materials. I've looked for jar kids, Styrofoam balls, Styrofoam cutters, a compass and protractor. You also can't get any help. The employees are way more interested in shooting the breeze with each other. On the plus side if you don't need something today, their truck comes in Tuesdays and you might have a prayer of getting what you're looking for. This Michaels has a dumpy and run down feeling to it (and this is before the holiday mobs). This location is just kind of dark, messy and unwelcoming. When you shop for projects you want to feel comfortable and inspired. Here I mostly felt the need to tidy up. Also their inventory and service is lacking compared to Joann down the street. read more

Payed over $200 for framing two pieces of art. Got scolded by the manager for not having a receipt due to their computers not working. Great customer service people but incredibly rude and authoritarian management! Just being kind and listening could go a long way. If I could give negative stars, I would. This store's managers violate ADA. They dropped the ball on an order, which happens. How you respond to mistakes is the key component to how your professionalism is judged. They failed. Instead of an apology for the error, and doing literally anything to attempt to fix the issue, they lied to me on the phone, contradicted the online CS rep, and then insulted me for not speaking clearly. I'm terribly sorry my disability made THEIR day more difficult. I will never shop here again, and have filed an ADA complaint. If you care at all about protecting the rights of the disabled, I would not give them a dime. read more

I was in love with the Michaels in Nashville. They always had well-stocked shelves and I was almost a little annoyed at how helpful the clerks seemed to be. Michaels on CO Blvd is a grand disappointment, though. I have been checking since July for adult small red shirts. I drive by and think, "Oh, it's been a while, maybe they've got shirts now." NOPE. Nor do they have pour-on lacquer, or if they do, they're out of the catalyst. Need large jars of white acrylic? Or red? Or black? Go somewhere else, because they don't have it here! I even got a rain check for the shirts at one point. Nobody ever called me about it... they probably never got any in. I wouldn't have a damn thing if I hadn't bought it all before moving from Nashville. read more

As a creative entrepreneur, I find myself at craft stores all the time. Michaels is definitely not my favorite craft store, but I also have yet to find any ONE store I can go to for everything. For fabric I have to go to Joann Fabrics or Fancy Tiger (expensive!), and Hobby Lobby for pretty much everything else. The one thing I DO love about Michaels is their 40% coupons that you get practically all the time. I need a HUGE cutting mat and that coupon will drastically reduce the price. And I believe they also have the largest collection of Martha Stewarts craft line so that's something else I like. It's also a good place to go for cheap little kids crafty things. You can easily get a few things to make an art project for as little as 3-5 bucks. read more

I went here to purchase frames for some concert posters and movie posters. The selection is much greater than other Michael's and especially Hobby Lobby. Pricing is way better than Aaron's. Custom f ramming is ridiculously priced (as with everywhere) thou and the employees are not very helpful. They could just have one employee at the counter and no other employees and i would've still given it then same rating just based off of selection. read more

Michaels does have a big selection, but they can be expensive. I can save at least a couple bucks on lots of their products at other craft stores. I will stop though if I'm closer to it than the other stores and they do have some stuff on clearance now and then. read more

On 1/6/14, I visited the story to return some items. One was a Christmas basket that I did not use because one of the handles broke. I couldn't find the receipt for the basket, so walked in with the idea that they wouldn't exchange it or take it back , but that it was worth a try. When I got there, the cashier called for the manager regarding the basket. Their manager then proceeded to state TO THE CASHIER (she never even made eye contact with me) to curtly tell the cashier that there was no way they'd allow me to return the basket, as they'd end up throwing it away. She then rolled her eyes, shook her head and walked away. That WAS NOT the way to handle the situation. I'm ok with them not taking the basket back; I am not ok with how rude this bimbo was to me. read more

So the printing of one 16" x 24" poster with a cheapo metal frame was going to cost $160 after the discount? Don't waste your time thinking you get a value here. I never have wrote bad reviews or any before, but I must. They had a whole row with different products that does not matched with their price tags. I waited long line and took a picture with wrong price tag. But they said, "oh well, customer placed wrong product." So I went to go grab different products, but same thing happened again with same bad attitude from employees. My daughter and I went to get supplies for her school project. After asking and getting help on finding things, the store clerk gave us a gift card for $25! It was part of their Random Acts of Kindness Day. So our project ended up only costing about $5. That was such an incredible surprise, and so well done. Michaels rocks. read more
