Of the Colorado Michaels I've been to, I really don't like the layout of this one. It's not intuitive at all and it seems like the selection of what they carry isn't very diverse as others. I mean, it's a pretty small store, but I feel like it could be better planned. Why do they have paint pens at the front of the store I wonder? I mean, wouldn't you put those over by paint and not back behind the registers where no one can see them? Who knows... shoppers here, and people using the parking area are interesting bunch. If I lived in the area I'm certain this place would not be my first choice to stop at when looking for crafty supplies. read more

I have hardly ever been able to find what I need here. It seems that every time I go to Michaels with a specific item in mind, they don't have it. Hobby Lobby is much better, cheaper, and has a larger selection, however, they are not open on Sunday. read more

Had a good experience with the employees on two separate occasions when we went in. They were helpful, and even told us about a coupon online that helped Sis get a big discount on a frame she purchased. She just found it on her phone, and showed the coupon when she paid. read more

I went to this store today and both some canvasses. I was asking for a ruling pen, but I forgot the name. I even draw it to show what I was talking about. Nobody helped at all and when finally I got to the cashier she knew what I was talking about. But another woman behind me, she looked the manager or something like that, shouted at me saying that they didn't have things like that and not to bother them! Seems that when they don't have what you need and when you don't want to buy their stuff mindlessly, they get aggressive. A ruling pen is such a common drawing utensil in any other country (as a pen or a compass) in the world that I can't imagine how a Michaels store doesn't have it. And it is inexpensive cause in the Walmart Web page is just 6 bucks. Well, goodbye Michaels. Keep your bad manners and aggressive employees inside. I won't cross your threshold anymore. read more

I shop a lot there because I have a shop on etsy. Most of the people their are very nice in general, however do watch your coupons. The cashiers will automatically state the computer will take 40% off you highest priced purchase, though today I found out this to be untrue. The price sounded a little high and I asked her if she took the coupon off the more expensive item and she said yes. But I double checked even though I knew I was correct and the coupon WAS used on the LOWER priced item. So beware and WATCH YOUR COUPONS! read more

Yes one of my favorite store but even your favorite stores can led you down. Brought my daughter for a craft time and I know it was to close to be done for the craft time . But attendants got in to an argument about letting my child do the craft or not. You have to learn to pick your battles and that is not when the client is in front of you. read more

There's a huge sign that says pickup online orders here. After waiting 20 minutes, the guy at that counter says they've changed things and I have to go up front and stand in another line (even longer). They could at least print a paper flyer to put on the counter if they are too lazy to take down the huge sign pointing people to the wrong spot. This review is for a an employee at Michael's, not the store itself. My family and I stepped into the store last night (Sunday, the 25th) around 6:30 PM to do some light shopping and as we passed by an employee named Audrey (on our way to check out) around 7:03 PM, instead of offering any assistance, she was extremely rude in letting us know that the store had been closed for three minutes and that we needed to make our way to the front of the store to check out. Mind you, there were no announcements made in the loud speaker, and we were not the only ones still in the store. I feel she could have handled the situation much better. She had a very poor attitude, she was very short and very condescending. I understand store closing times, and not wanting to be there longer than required after your shift but to be rude to paying customers is not the way to handle it. I would understand the attitude if we were there for 15 minutes after closing with no intentions of leaving, but it was literally three minutes after the fact and we were already headed up to the front. A little kindness goes a long way. read more

I went there to buy a variety of pens. The majority of pens are locked. The ones not locked have no price on them. In order to buy pens and make my own decision, I have to find a store clerk. The pens I wanted were located in different sides of the store.How could I shop? BY having the clerk walk around by my side?/ Or should I yell in the middle of the store every time I found an item I wanted to purchase, or Should I keep walking around until I find him and then try to figure out where was the items I saw? How ridiculous is that??? If there is such a necessity to keep things locked , go out of this business and let other more efficient people run such a store. read more

We had several paintings that we picked up while traveling and wanted to have stretched. Not knowing better we took them to Michael's. For 6 prints (not huge) they were asking for approximately $650. We took them to another store and had a MUCH better experience as well as a price that was 40% less! read more

I went to Michael's a few days ago for some very basic supplies. A few supplies for a plastic canvas project and a few items for a Halloween tye dye craft my kids wanted to do. I shop at this store a lot (well i used to) and know better than to ask anyone for help....you will not get it. I got the various items I needed for the projects and headed for the t shirt aisle for the shirts to tye dye. A sign was posted saying all t shirts were 3 for 10 and so i proceeded to pick out 3. I patiently waited my turn in the EXTREMELY long check out line and finally got my turn to check out....everything rang up correctly except the shirts. I informed the cashier that the sign said the shirts were 3 for 10 and she called up someone from the floor to assist us. A rude woman came up and acted extremely upset that I had questioned being charged $6 a piece for shirts that were supposed to be 3 for 10. I explained the sign and she didn't believe me. She asked me to show her where i found them....I left my cart (holding up the line even further) and took my daughter and went to the shirt aisle. The aisle didn't have the sign up once, or even twice but 6 times up and down the whole aisle. The saleswoman then told me that sign was not for that brand of shirts....except that was the only brand there. I asked her to get me a manager and she refused and said that I was stupid if I couldn't read that that price was for regular shirts only. Apparently the shirts I picked out were not "regular". I again asked for a manager and she started screaming at me and said she didn't have time to track down the manager for me and walked away! Having absolutely enough of this store I went back to the cashier and told her I would not be buying ANYTHING form this store and got the managers name and number and the salesperson's name. I went out to my car and called the manager and explained the situation to him....He said that the store and the signs are designed by corporate and he just follows a template even if its wrong. I said so you have a sale sign on something that isn't on sale? He said nothing he can do and that's how the store was set up....He did say he would "deal" with the saleswoman. I'm sure that means nothing. I was appalled that not only was the customer service horrible, but the manager then tried to pass the buck on to corporate. I wont be shopping there anymore. read more

I go to Michaels for frames and I have for a long time. I come here when I need something custom framed and also when I have an odd size that doesn't require a custom frame job, but needs more options than offered by Target or the like. For example, I had a 24"x32" poster and typical poster frames are 24"x36". I could not find that size anywhere (other than Hobby Lobby, no thanks) but Michaels had it. I didn't have a printed coupon, but no matter - their stock frames are ALWAYS 40% to 50% off and their custom framing usually is too. I stocked up last night and was able to get some stuff out of boxes, off the floor and finally on my damn walls. Service is friendly though I can never find someone to help me with pricing in the actual frame section. I just take everything up to the register to get scanned (their tags are confusing and placed randomly). Decent selection including some modern frames that become average to inexpensively priced after the discounts. There aren't a ton of options, but then again I don't live in the Louvre, so I found the basic things I needed to fit my different sizes. They also have a good variety of mats including pre-cut and DIY. read more

Yes, framing can be expensive, but the final product was done right, looked fantastic and was well worth the money. I went to Michael's for a custom framing job--a poster from Zion we wanted professionally framed. They were running a 40% off deal on custom framing and the cheapest was close to $200 for a 18"x36". Despite the price I figured it was well worth it and moved forward with the purchase. They gave me a date and I had to call 30 minutes before they closed on the due date where I was told, "I was just about to call you!". I picked up the framing order and ran home to hide it--it was a present for my husband. At my own stupidity I did not check the framing job and I am outside of the date for them to rework the print (14 days at the same store). I gave it to my husband today and we went to hang it up on the wall. It stayed wrapped in the paper tucked away in a safe place, but the frame is scratched and there is dirt everywhere all over the print! I called and was told the same 14 day policy and that I would have to pay full price again to get it fixed. I accept that I should have looked at it, but geeze I didn't pay you guys nearly $200.00 to fill the 'sealed' framework with dirt! Sorry Michael's you've lost a loyal customer and a custom framing recommendation. read more
