It feels a little weird writing a review for this place. It's pretty much a liquor store that does a bunch of things. I get lotto tickets here when I'm in the area. There always seems to be at least one person ahead of you in line. The parking lot is cool but there's always one person who can't drive or park in it (not the store'sfault). Lotto stand is stocked and even has a pen. So, how did I rate this and come up with a 4? Easy. I didn't have to wait too long to buy the ticket. Besides being a purveyor of alcohol, Michael's Liquor's website advertises that they will also * polish your silver * sell you propane * livescan your fingerprints * notarize documents * make keys * take your e-waste (for a fee) and * sell you replacement car batteries. Curiously absent from their website: Michael's Liquor is also a TAP retailer. You can go there to buy TAP cards and add passes for LA Metro and Big Blue Bus, or add stored value. read more

The have a great selection of liquors and wines at great prices. Their regular prices are as good if not better than sales elsewhere. On top of that the staff is helpful and it is one of a few places you can get both types of fingerprinting done. In this day and age were you have to have a license for everything it good to know that there is someplace to go that is not in some remote location. Plus they have free parking and sell ice in quantities for parties. read more

Do not park in their parking lot. Even if you are a paying customer they will put a boot on your car and extort you for $500 to remove the boot. They tried this with me and I called the police. They took the boot off once I got on the phone with the cops. It's an obvious racket. read more

I went for Live Scan Fingerprinting for a Visa Application. I was a little thrown off when the location turned out to be a liquor store - very unprofessional. I'm surprised the government issues them a license. It took the guy forever to enter the information into his computer which was in the middle of a bunch of papers and clutter on the counter, really unorganized. Another guy who was yelling on the phone offered me a wooden stool in the middle of the store I could sit on - it was really quite strange. I went immediately after to the post office to put my application in the mail to the Dept of Justice, and when I got home I got a voicemail from the guy who processed my prints saying that he wrote down the wrong date. When I called Harry (the guy who was on the phone the whole time) he was very cavalier about it and said it's no big deal. The DOJ says on their website it takes 3-4 weeks to process so I'll be really upset if I am not notified in a timely manner that there is no problem with my application. The fact that the government has licensed a liquor store for this service has me confounded. Weird. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR LIVE SCAN. We went for foster/adopt paperwork because it was convenient on a Sunday. The live scan paperwork did not go through. After waiting for weeks, we found out we would need to do a resubmission, so we had to return. The paperwork did not go through that time either. Both times it took well over 90 minutes, and neither operator seemed to know what they were doing. We ended up going to the SMPD, and we were done in 20 minutes. Save your time. read more

Don't buy from this vendor! They are not to be trusted. They have poor customer service and got upset that I gave them a negative rating. I returned the defective product to them (even Epson said it was defective) and they claimed that the printer worked fine and only gave me half my money back claiming since it magically worked for them, under Amazon's return policy they could charge me shipping! $80 to ship a small printer... Really! Scam artist, stay away! read more

Wow! I came here for a livescan... The owner is rude, always shouting at someone into his phone, or being disparaging to the workers, and it took an hour and a half. I knew I made a mistake when I walked in and it was a liquor store... Oops... This place should rethink The way it treats its customers particularly when it's catering to the professional customer. Also, the poor men who work here for the rudest owner ever should know that they don't deserve to be treated that way. In summary, please dear God do not come here. read more

Live Scan: You will be surprised when you first enter as the place is a liquor store and the operators of the live scan are the store clerks. I regret starting with this place. I should have turned around the first time when I saw that the "operator" looks like a janitor and does not understand language. I had to go twice because it was not done properly. I am waiting to see if the last submission will go through. I am concerned that these bozos keep a copy of the submission which has my personal info. When the machine said the quality of the prints were "E", which means unacceptable, the idiot told me it was ok. I don't think he even understood what my concern was. I expect I will be notified that I will have to repeat again. But, I will go elsewhere and notify my credit card company. Don't go there for live scan. The owner of the store appears uninterested in the operation of the live scan. While the operator was doing the live scan, the owner asked me to move, oblivious that the scan was taking place. This place gives me the heeby jeebies. read more

This is a convenient, local liquor store. What do you expect? It doesn't have the best selection of beer, wine, or liquor, and the prices are a little high. But it exists, and it's pretty much always open when I need it. Can you ask for anything more? read more
