Store is beautiful but it don't go well with me when I made some keys to be exact 5 basic keys and I was given a $45 charge! That's insane, the gentleman said sorry but the keys you chose were different price but I feel that he should have said it will be 4 times the basic key charge. Regardless this was my first experience with this store and I really wanted to be a good one . I think it was a learning experience for me that going forward to always ask for exact price of any service before buying anything. Service was very good. My issue was that surprise factor. I just think the clerk should be forthcoming on price specially when a charge is going to be out if the normal. read more

LOVE this place! I have been going there for over a decade. I don't normally write reviews but MM is one of the friendliest business establishments in Santa Monica. Garo was amazing and now the new owner Jasmit has picked up where he left off without missing a stride. I went here to mail out some packages internationally and a few packages locally. I spent a good amount of time here and I was so pleasantly surprised by the all of the help and the way the boxes were packed etc. turns out the guy put the switched the slips on my boxes going to Europe so they went to the wrong places. It has been a complete nightmare to try and resolve. One of the packages needed to get to France at a specific time and of course never got there. When I called to tell the person working there he didn't apologized and barely acknowledged the error. I was really disappointed and sadly am still dealing with this 3 weeks later. I have a newborn baby so this has been really hard and a huge waste Of time and money. I'd double check everything before sending things out. read more

This was my first visit and I was disappointed. I went for Passport Photos and copies of the application. The people were very kind. I appreciated their friendly, prompt service. The owner (I think) offered to honor the price given over the phone the day before on passport photos. When I returned home and looked at the pages printed, I realized there were extraneous and unclear lines on the application. I called to let them know and the woman kindly offered a refund saying their printer was in need of service. Later I looked at the passport photos again and realized my face had a shiny glaring light (shadow), was weird, as someone commented, pixelated. I realized why I hadn't liked the image earlier. When I called again to let them know, the same woman answered, saying the flash was necessary and the cause of the unflattering glare. She was adamant repeatedly talking over me insisting. I wasn't pleased. Perhaps there is another way. I appreciated their service just not the results. read more

I would pay 5x the price of the post office here simply to avoid the nightmare that is the Wilshire USPS. After waiting in line for over an hour at that location and not being served (you can see my other review on that if you want to know what to avoid), I was in and out of Montana Mail in less than 60 seconds. Super convenient if you live nearby vs. going to the post office, however you will pay a premium if you need shipping materials. Last time I went the employees were super nice and helpful and were realistic about how long my package would take from Ship date to delivery. Not sure if he's gone but did experience a super grumpy man a couple times who told me they are not just a drop off for packages that already have postage and let regulars picking up mail jump ahead of me but didn't communicate he wanted to get the quick transactions handled before he boxed up my item. It is super clean and have Covid restrictions in place. read more

Highly recommend! Skip the post office and go here instead. You can get labels or drop off packages for USPS, Fedex, UPS, DHL. So convenient! The parking lot is a tight fit so I'd recommend using your smaller vehicle if you have a choice or walking if you are nearby. They also sell shipping materials (bubble wrap, tape, etc.). Never heard of a place that marks up the cost of a sheet of stamps - until now! Montana Mail marks up everything. And they can't even afford to have decent internet. Was in the area and needed a FedEx drop-off. They don't take QR codes so you have to email them the label - and they charge $1 for a receipt because they have to print it. Unless you have money to burn, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

This is the best post office in the world. It is a small local business and they take pride in helping their customers and will pack pretty much anything! Even though I don't live in the area anymore I will drive to Montana Mail instead of using the post offices nearer to my home. The staff is so on point, the space is clean and organized, they practice safe Covid guidelines. Went in to open a new mailbox for my business having just moved to the area. When hearing what I wanted to do a man with glasses and pepper hair said "I guess we can do that, timing is everything and this is the worst time." Um, ok it's 12:31 on a Friday and I called ten minutes earlier letting them know I would be coming in? After some sighing he looks at me up and down and says "you can't just 'open a mailbox' you need a license. Do you have a license?" Again, um yes sir I am a 35 year old lawyer, and surprisingly I have a drivers license! His tone and demeanor were incredibly rude and I ended up leaving because I don't think I could bear to see this man every time I have to get my mail. read more

do not recommend coming here for passport photos. First off all they had to retake it twice in person and then ultimately the one I left with got rejected when submitted for not being correct within specs causing my passport renewal to be delayed. read more

I found them on the DHL website as an official drop off site. A gentleman there greeted me and took my box and pleasantly gave me a drop off receipt. It was busy on Montana Ave., but they have two dedicated parking spots in front of the store so it was easy. The cleaners right next door have two parking spots too, so I think I will check their prices and maybe try them next. I was concerned after all these old disturbing poor reviews, but it appears the more recent Montana Mail being under new ownership and being a great place now reviews are true. read more

Have my PO Box here and I always get my mail. Can't ask for anything else from a PO Box. If I forget my key they help me. If I get a big package they sometimes call and let me know. (Probably to save space but it's nice nonetheless.) Prices are good for SM area. read more
